- A deadly crash involving a motorcycle on the 405 Freeway left all northbound lanes blocked through part of the San Fernando Valley Friday morning.

I have a friend who rides a motorcycle and every time I hear about this it freaks me out
Sorry to hear about this. I stopped riding because drivers don't pay attention like they should, it's scary just driving a car on a freeway.
New people in the city using google maps.. looking down at their phones etc.
My boyfriend has been on life support for a month already after a horrible motorcycle accident due to the negligence of the other driver. Despite the expensive protective gear he had on, he is severely injured with multiple broken bones and damaged organs and may be permanently disabled. We have a small toddler together and we miss him so much. It's always a blessing to have your loved ones safely come home to you everyday. My deepest condolences to the victim's family. I cant help but feel anxious for every motorcyclist I see on the road and I pray for their safety everyday.
I hate driving on freeways. Too stressful.

Pretty much bikes are like cars without body armor, doors, & windshields. You risk your life.

Celebrated my father 2 year passing just yesterday killed in a hit and run drunk driving accident. Every single time I see a motorcyclist I pray for them and their families in honor of my father. My heart goes out to the family❤

They should have a specific lane for motorcycles just like the bicycle lane. Way too many deaths…..
Even if they did, people would try to drive in it. Even with a bicycle lane, unless the put up pylons or a concrete separation it’s not totally safe.

Consider that each driver on the road is a risk of causing extreme harm with immunity.

things with 2 wheels that are not subject to the same safety standard as 4 wheel vehicles should not be allowed on the roads including freeways. We can save lots of lives and miseries of so many innocent 4 wheel drivers.

I'm surprise this doesn't happen often. I know many riders have no choices but they always look dangerous, weaving between cars, especially when ton of drivers are on their cellphones without paying attention.

One thing they need is a law they can't sell a motorcycle to a person who never ride a bike before I seen it done. watch the guy on the bike it was very scary to see

Not very smart to choose to ride late at night. As a rider learn from other peoples mistakes, so many of these fatalities happen the exact same way, learn from them, most common time for motorcycle fatalities are late at night involved DUIs as the rider or with a driver followed by left hand turns on city streets. For one when you have such an open highway like that you cant lie to me, i know you are doing well over triple digits, because you can very easily. But doing that at night is too risky, all there needs to be is rear lights to be out and you dont see what u need to avoid in time. Maybe just maybe play the odds in your favor and minimize your risk drastically. Just drive your car when the risk is too high, if u do dont get loose, ride during the day and avoid city streets
motorcycle is for rural country roads, low population and low traffic, not for major metroplexes like LA. Too dangerous

Motorcycles are _by far_ the most dangerous way to travel from point A to point B. Is this fact communicated to young people? I don't see it being done.
Look at the billions of dollars of coerced taxpayers' money poured into freeway projects. Every year the traffic gets longer, injuries and deaths keep rising

When I lived in Orange County in 80's, you could halt freeway traffic for miles, just having a maintenance worker shoveling on the side, drivers rubbernecking. I bet it's worse today?🤔
Certainly he wasnt speeding, splitting lanes or following too closely. Bikers would never do that.
