Thank you 6 foot 4. You look amazingly rested despite the early morning. Wish I could look that fresh on an early start. Thank you for the Vlog Jayden. Very cool, nice banana and nice hair styling at the terminal. Can’t wait to see the 747!
hahaha if you look very carefully I was a bit bloated (from not enough sleep) at the airport and inflight until the banana scene (because I caught my sleep) Thanks DJ!! :)
Jayden, Korea airline also offers one of the best service among other airlines like : Singapore 🇸🇬 Airline, Japan 🇯🇵 Airline, as well as Quantas Airline.
So many shirtless shots today, you getting ready to start your only fans!! The food looked amazing onboard, it is great to see they take vegan special orders seriously as they look like the best you have had so far since changing your diet. I have to say it was odd not seeing HSBC on all the air bridges, they somehow seem to have the most advertising on them around!
aiya what are you thinking 🤣 Totally China Airlines and Korean Air so far served me the best vegan meals. I love my HSBC cards (and jet bridges) haha. From Wikipedia: Marketing Marketing space on jetways was uncommon until the early 2000s when HSBC launched their campaign "The World's Local Bank".[12] Peter Stringham, head of marketing for HSBC worldwide,[13] worked closely with Lowe's, the Group's global agency, in developing the campaign which required a single global platform. Stringham noticed jetways were a global medium which had not been tapped.[14] HSBC thus bought the rights to jetways across major localities in 81 countries and territories.
Korean Airlines serve impressive banana’s! I traveled with Korean a decade ago to Moscow and the excellent onboard service in Economy doesn’t seem to have changed. My stopover was 20 hours and included in the fare was a 5 star hotel for the night. From memory the fare was exceptionally good. Another super informative Vlog as always Jayden. Cheers now. 👍
In august 19th i flew with korean same route. The flight was scheduled as a 787 but got changed to a 777 300ER. The meal was so good and the 777 was in the old configuration 3-3-3. Korean air is the best for long haul route in my opinion. And also thank 6’4 for driving u to Sydney airport
Hi Jayden great trip report. I like the new addition to your style of video. The music was perfect for the montage of shots from the lounge in Sydney you did.
Well, Korean Air proved that an airline CAN do a great vegan meal! Two, even. 😉The entire trip seemed great from the start with kindly Mr. 6'4" chauffeuring you to the airport! What did you think of the American Southwest desert? My mom and I drove from San Diego, California to Milwaukee, Wisconsin a few weeks ago, the first two days were spent driving along our Interstate 10 which it seems you were traveling on as well. Ironically, a RUclips couple I follow are currently in Palm Springs checking out the hotel they've booked for about a week next summer - a group vacation they've invited me to come on. Anyway, great video and bits of vlog, as always, Jayden! Cheers!
it was interesting driving from LA to Palm Springs, a lot more built up compared to driving within Australia but I guess LA area is so big. Loved Palm Springs, not my kind of ideal city with public transport and walkable but good vibe haha
When boarding an aeroplane I usually tell the cabin crew at entry that my seat is probably on the veranda deck. It helps break the ice. (I liked 6'4's cameo appearance).
Great trip report JW. Thank you 6'4" for driving you!. Wow, impressive meal sizes and you were lucky for a vacant seat next to you. Some of those vehicles in California wouldn't be allowed on our roads!. Keep up the great work!
The second meal looked really delicious :) 18:00 The way the CSM announced the time and date reminds me of voiceovers that you'd usually hear on voicemails
About the seat and aisle widths, I believe that's because they have standard seats for their 787s and 777s which are different widths and configurations. That's just how the dimensions work out with their standard seats.
This is my very first international long haul flight to London and I must say, I got hooked to in flight meals to have a comparison between airlines and between seat classes.
I so enjoyed your reaction to Los Angeles traffic. Glad you were able to enjoy Palm Springs... a very unique location, I paid a visit about a month ago. In spite of the challenging traffic in Los Angeles / SoCal, the greater LA area is an amazing place to live. It would take a lot to gate me to leave here. Realized, I'm 4 months behind in viewing your videos... I will have to catch up over the next couple of weeks.
First of all, thank you to 6 foot 4 for taking you to the airport. I really like Korean Air. Very pleasant crew, good food, nice seats. They do air travel quite well. I fly Korean Air between ICN and BKK for visiting Thailand. Flew from Las Vegas to BKK once, and that was a great trip. The flight number was 006, it is the same route flown by KAL 007!
@@JaydenWong Hope you enjoyed Honolulu! I love their airport-open air. Can feel the breeze and hear the planes, too. The Japanese and Chinese gardens are wonderful.
my focus last year (other than one world and Virgin Australia's partners) was Star Alliance. This year Skyteam. I'll look into Star Alliance next year again :)
Great video, Jayden! And thank you to 6’4” for being the early morning chauffeur! It was nice to see the great service on Korean. Glad the flight went well. What did you think of Palm Springs? It’s usually pretty hot there.
I liked it there! Didn’t seem very walkable to me but you can walk around the resort haha. I’m getting off the cruise tomorrow in Sydney, can’t wait to see my chauffeur again😂
The poor old dog. He looked so cute. Yes I don't like dogs so much. Never had one. Cats and birds have been a constant. I miss our female tortoise shell. So friendly. No scratch or bite. Can't say I miss those long haul flights and jet lag. Do it while your young. It gets too much to handle later in life. Mum is 83 and told me no more trips. She is done. Maybe getting locked in Melbourne airport loo for two hours last time did not help. Cheers.
He is 13 yet very adorable! For a while, my mum couldn't do long haul economy. She needed business class or do connecting flights because of her neck. She got her problems fixed and now she can do economy again but for the reason of comfort she still avoids 🤣
Only flew Korean Air on a 50 min domestic flight last year. I had the privilege to fly on a rare 737-900 that was barely 40% full, so I had room to move about. There was no service, but the crew was so sweet. They asked me why I was taking pictures of the cabin, turns out they had never come across an avgeek before. My guess is that they were junior crew learning the ropes on domestic flights. I'd really love to try them on a longer journey, they seem to offer a very solid product. Shame for that narrow 787 seat though.
Being a Skypass and Delta Skymiles member, I have taken 8 flights in total with KE and they satisfied me in 88% of them. Flew their Dreamliner too from Incheon to Hong Kong, and that was where their Bibimbap successfully killed my taste buds. Ironic, because on other flights they were rock solid. Also, KE flight attendants tend to be camera sensitive (got warned once even though I didn't film the crews directly), but most of them gave me the "I don't care" look so I'm not surprised to see they let many people pass. Nice vid as always!
According to Aerolopa, the seat width on KE's 789's are 17.2", which is the average width on most airlines operating the aircraft. I flew KLM's 773ER recently in economy, and it was the same narrow width, cramming in 10-across like on the vast majority of other 777 operators (but not on KE's 777's) 😐. 17" seat width is ok for short haul, but it's quite miserable long haul. I flew on KE just this past week for the first time in a very long time, and was very, very pleased and impressed. You're spot on, the food and legroom set them apart from many other carriers! I also had a very similar experience with the warm welcomes (being a DL platinum/Skyteam Elite+ flyer). When my ICN-HKG flight was running late, the purser even came up to me to explain the reason for the delay and the approximate updated time of pushback. KE makes me feel like a million bucks even when flying in economy LoL And similar to your experience as well, all the FAs were always smiling and friendly. SQ is known for stellar service among the asian carriers (or any carrier for that matter), but I think KE gives them a run for their money, in my opinion. Friendly, helpful.... AND young & beautiful flight attendants 😉 The one thing KE lacks is a more comprehensive IFE system, the selection of movies, TV shows and audio is quite limited. But that doesn't matter too much to me, as I mostly use the screen for the airshow, and immerse myself in the Bible. But limited IFE is the only downside to KE, and I think they offer a top notch product on the whole. Anyway, I'm quite new to your channel, and just wanted to say you do a fantastic job on your videos! You're very detailed, easy to listen to, and seem very friendly. And you're a cantonese speaker like I am also =] My parents immigrated from Hong Kong to the US in 1980, and I was born and raised there. So it's awesome getting to hear your canto skills! Even though you don't think it's that great, trust me, you're fluent =] You are definitely waaay more fluent than I am. I can speak well, but just the basic everyday verbiage. Hong Kongers think I'm a local/native, until I start peppering my canto with english words (aka chinglish) a little too frequently LoL But anyway, I'm glad to have found your channel, and look forward to new videos! Cheers, mate!
Hi! I’m glad you had a good flight with KE. Yes they really treat us like VIP. All of the four flights I took with them last month, I got a purser looking after me. Sadly due to the changes to Delta Skymiles, I only have a year left of Delta Gold. So 2024 will be full of Skyteam flights haha. Trying to explore all of the airlines until I lose my status.
@@JaydenWong , as an Aussie, are you allowed to sign up for DL's American Express reserve credit card? If so, you'll get 15 days/visits to the skyclub (reduced from infinite number of visits, which sucks), but you'll also get $2500 gifted MQDs, and $1 MQD per $10 spent on the card. With the amount of spending I do on my credit card, having the reserve card means I need only $5000 spending on DL/SkyTeam flights, which is actually easier to achieve versus the current threshold of $8000 spend on flights + 50,000 MQMs flown. But even without the reserve card, the MQDs required for gold is "only" $10.000, $2000 more than the current requirement of $8000. Not too bad, considering you travel so much? =]
Hey Jayden, loving all the A380 activity on ground in Sydney, the economy class on Korean Air looked great, how it used to be back in the day on other carriers like BA. can’t wait to see your 747-8 report, also nice to hear your heading here to London 😃 have you ever considered doing a meet and greet event during a stop over?
Nice report, JW! Looked like a great flight except for that dirty loo. Both vegan meals looked really good, as a "part-time vegetarian", I'm sure I'd be happy with them. Views outside of the SkyTeam lounge at SYD looked killer. BTW, the crew "handing out individual tea bags" can have a naughty connotation..... maybe think about rewording next time? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for doing this review. Am considering taking this flight to Seoul from Sydney as had a very good experience on Korean Air in 2019 when we flew HKG to INC - got to make bibimbap for lunch on the plane :) Looking at flying late night from MEL to SYD, then early morning flight on Korean Air.
I did SYD ICN about two weeks after this on the 747-8, was a good flight too and amazing food once again :) Would you consider the new Asiana nonstop from Melbourne?
Correct some Airlines do not have a power socket in all classes only premium passengers have them. In the case of KE and CX you're guaranteed a power socket in all classes in widebody and selected Small narrowbody planes. On the 787-9 Korean Air it's between the two seats same with CX A359s A35Ks A330-300s & B777-367/ER
Love your videos but I disagree with one item. The headrests are not comfortable LOL! No matter who the airline is. Really like the ones when 6’4” tags along !!!
Nice trip report! 👍 I am so annoyed that Sydney gets FIVE airlines flying to Seoul and Melbourne gets NOTHING! Anybody know if there’s a possibility of an airline starting a MEL-ICN route?
@@martinschalken7583 no worries! Had my doubts about posting since it's a month later but hope it's useful information for you and you get to visit Korea soon! 🫰
Great trip report (and thanks to 6’4’’ as well)! Nice to see that you were served a good vegan meal - as a vegetarian traveler myself, I feel lucky if I can get something halfway edible. Which airlines do you think are the best/worst for vegetarian food? And, when you fly, do you order special, or do you pick the veg option on the regular menu?
Korean Air and China Airlines have the best so far! Qantas offer plant-based options on their regular meal on long haul flights (even in economy) but their sides such as ice-cream and starter could be vegetarian and not Vegan. Cathay has the worst business vegan food ever! Their economy and premium economy are pretty good I heard since they partner up with a hotel to do them. :)
I see. It's okay that you didn't film the red eye flight from LA to Toronto because it's dark outside, except you see the city light when the weather is clear.

I did SYD ICN about two weeks after this on the 747-8, was a good flight too and amazing food once again :)
Would you consider the new Asiana nonstop from Melbourne?
@@JaydenWong Has that started?
on boxing day :) www.executivetraveller.com/news/asiana-airlines-melbourne-seoul-flights
@@JaydenWong Woohoo!!!
I'm going on korean air LDH to INC in 5 month, but this video is making me more excited
I’m sure it’ll be a great flight!!
always a pain when USB is not working, got any power bank?
yes and I used the power socket haha
Correct some Airlines do not have a power socket in all classes only premium passengers have them. In the case of KE and CX you're guaranteed a power socket in all classes in widebody and selected Small narrowbody planes. On the 787-9 Korean Air it's between the two seats same with CX A359s A35Ks A330-300s & B777-367/ER

greetings from Hong Kong!!
Great review as usual 👍👍
Thanks for watching :))
Love your videos but I disagree with one item. The headrests are not comfortable LOL! No matter who the airline is. Really like the ones when 6’4” tags along !!!
I can't remember vividly the headrests on the 787 but the 747 and 777 headrests AND seatback are rock hard!
I just always think of the Pepsi Airline when I see Korean Airs Logo 😂
yep hahaha
Can we assume all lavatory bottle soaps are not tempered with?
Thank you
thank you for watching Bobby! :)
Thank you 6’4” for sending Jayden to Sydney Airport. 😂
I noticed the Korean Air lady at the boarding gate was pretty rude… 😮
haha yes the gentleman who scanned my boarding pass in comparison so nice
Nice trip report! 👍 I am so annoyed that Sydney gets FIVE airlines flying to Seoul and Melbourne gets NOTHING! Anybody know if there’s a possibility of an airline starting a MEL-ICN route?
That's a good point. I might look for flights from Sydney as may get a better variety of flights to Asia
haha right! so ironic
Asiana are starting ICN-MEL from 26th December but only twice a week
@@jjajan1936 Oh really? That’s great news! At least it’s something. Thank you so much for the update, I really appreciate it! 😊😊
Nice and funny thumbnail.
Thank you 6"4
thank you for watching! :)
JAL still has a 2-4-2 configuration in economy on the 787-9, but I think they are the last that haven't gone to 3-3-3.
yep only.
SIMPLY OUSTANDING
May I know which seat number or row did you choose.
seat 43J
25:14, From LA to Toronto, you flew the red-eye flight?
yes
I see. It's okay that you didn't film the red eye flight from LA to Toronto because it's dark outside, except you see the city light when the weather is clear.
Thank God for CC option.
Thank you 6'4"!! :) :)
thanks for watching! :)
Thank you for sharing your video
thanks so much for watching!! :)
that's what european "flagship" carriers proudly call Premium Economy
i will be traveling to korea in a few months. it will be my first long haul flight and im kind of scared the plane will crash into the ocean
please don't think about that! Just enjoy the flight!
6f4 is so nice
Good On 6,4 To Be Your Chauffeur

Shortly, Korean will be using 747-8 on the ICN to SYD route!!!
