On June 14th three birds were ready to return to the wild. Susan and Martin packed up a Golden Eagle and two Peregrine Falcons. With the Subaru well loaded, they headed up the C-Overlook to release the birds back to the wild. Though he can't be sure, Martin thinks it is possible the two Peregrines are mates and nest near the Cedar Canyon Nature Park. Though this release could not be promoted, Susan and Martin were joined by a few family and friends. One of our volunteers, KayAnne, released the first Peregrine and Susan & Martin's daughter, Vicki, released the second one. The Golden Eagle was released by a Eagle Scout, Nate. Martin had been scheduled to bring Scout the Golden Eagle to Nate's Eagle Court of honor, however it had to be cancelled. Purely by chance, Nate was up the C-Overlook when the birds were released. Love how Martin explains time and again the story behind each bird before release and especially behind the spirituality of the special Golden Eagles. ❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for the video I said a prayer when he released the eagle my grandfather was a veteran in the merines we lost him last Friday night he loved eagle's he loved eagle's very much
Excellent Video Martin. I’ve never seen your daughter or son. She’s daddy’s daughter. It’s wonderful that she is a nurse and takes care of the injured and sick humans. I really enjoyed watching you release these 3 animals. That eagle is a beast. She is quite strong. Keep your educational videos coming. I’d like to thank all our courageous front line workers for their services during these difficult times.
I love how Martin uses his teeth to adjust the hood!! Susan & Martin you have me obsessed with your great channel & life's work! Thanks for all you do!!!
The Peregrines are my favorite-they have adorable expressive faces. I really couldn’t appreciate the size difference between peregrines and golden eagles until you held them against your chest. You, your wife and your volunteers are amazing selfless beings. Were living in crazy times right now but all seems right in the world when Martin releases an animal and shares it with us!
It takes a courageous and dedicated person to handle these birds of prey. Martin, who displays a deep sense of commitment to these feathery creatures, is always up to the task. He and those who work alongside him deserve to be commended for their dedication to these wonderful birds of prey.
So amazing to see 3 bird releases at the same time. Thank you Martin for all your hard work and dedication to get these rescues back into nature where they belong ❤
Thank you for taking care of these beautiful birds, I was crying in your other video of the eagle that you lost. It's so sad to see that you tried your best but you couldn't save him. I wouldn't be good at helping you, i would cry all the time . Thank you for saving their lives.
I Love You both. Prayers for you and all our first responders, healthcare workers, essential workers. I was told by a Native American man in Oregon that Eagle is my Spirit Animal. I was very humbled.
Hi again MARTIN &SUSAN What a great day! 3 more for the plus column! I don't remember a golden that huge Martin. Just a magnificent and beautiful bird with the fiercest talons ever! And the female Peregrine was so lovely. The feathers on all of them were very pretty and it's understandable why they need them all. Must say it never gets old seeing them back in the air where they truly belong... So many amazing successful rehab stories you have Martin. Just another day of saving lives... Wow!! Thank you as always for sharing and thx to Susan for capturing every important moment for all out here to see. Stay healthy and safe and God bless.
I love how dedicated you are to this job. I can honestly tell you love this profession and really care about these amazing animals. I’ve been binge watching all your videos. I now have a huge interest in these birds of prey! Thank you for helping these animals and making these informative videos. You’re the man!
Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah No problem, I’ll be looking forward to the next video! Also, I will be ordering a book from you next week when I get paid. Im gonna order from the website so I can get yours and Scouts autograph!
You guys are amazing people. And if 1/100th of the people were like you, the world would be an amazing place. Keep up the amazing work. And when its my birthday ill donate my birthday money to you guys...
Thankyou for rescuing these beautiful creatures and most of all, setting them free later! It’s much better to do that than to keep them in captivity their whole lives. Sending support 💕
Every time I watch a release I get so teary eyed. It is truly a wonderful thing your foundation is doing for our world, preservation of our wildlife is just as important and our lives. Thank you for all you do.
When you release these beautiful birds, especially the majestic eagles, it makes me smile through out the whole time. 😁 I automatically wave to them as they fly away.👋 I just love watching all your video's no matter how far back, I sometimes watch them more then once or twice even three times. 🙏💖
I didn’t have any words to say except to be in tears to see the birds being released and wonderful human beings like you who bring balance to this crazy world. ❤️
What an honor for Nate to be able to release the eagle named Scout!! I've been to a few Eagle Courts of Honor myself with my son, but he didn't make it. His dad yanked him out of scouts before he had a chance to get that rank. That eagle flew off so gracefully too. What a joy, that won't be something the young man ever forgets.
Thank you good people for taking such good care of these beautiful magnificent animals, i found your channel by accident tonight and already went through many of your videos.
My favorite so far! This young man will be an advocate for these birds & wildlife going forward. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE YOU GAVE HIM THAT DAY!! I know you probably say you release them all the time & it’s not a big deal for you ..but it was a selfless act.. I think with every one you care for 24/7 a tiny piece of you flys away with them - in goodness of course - a well deserved win - & to be the person who pushes them back out into their ‘free’ flights is a big deal. Allowing the young man to experience that was a privilege but a privilege that can be life changing and set career goals. It seems he was asking questions about where you were and what y’all do etc.. maybe he was interested in volunteering but with the other people present he was hesitant about asking maybe. If he’s in the Boy Scouts there locally he is easy to find 👌. I mention this because we run a small dog rescue and we always need volunteers to do the everyday things like cleaning & bathing & giving attention etc.. While your situation is way different being the eagles & owls etc don’t need human interaction, there are probably some odd jobs that can be done by a younger guy with a more agile body. (I’m 56 so I know 😂). You never know- you could get a volunteer and years later he’s the next eagle whisperer. Just saying we gotta pass our knowledge on to the next. And I saw your daughter and the other lady release the pellegrines .. but women aren’t quite the same as men (hate to admit that). At any rate this was an awesome day for everybody and 3 amazing birds are back in nature. I find great joy in watching your & your wife’s videos.. if the truth was known your wife probably does most of the dirty work lol. I’m glad y’all started a channel because this year seems to be all about RUclips. Your videos are a bright place in the 2020 pandemic for many I’m sure. 💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👏👏
Man, that first peregrine, male, really soared and wouldn't quit. Same with the female. But as beautiful those two were, that eagle was outrageous coming out the box. Holey Moley. I felt that eagle's strength right thru the laptop screen.
I wish I can do this some time. I'm surprised that eagle was able to soar before it hit the rocks. He threw it low and its crop is so big. I'd love to see a pic of that golden eagle together with the baby bald! It's so cute that they get along.
I am no expert but I have put in thousands of hours into research of raptors and have hundreds of hours of in the field experience watching Hawks but I do believe you are right about your notion that the Peregrines were a mates pair rereleased on the same day. How incredible is that. I’m sure they were talking about it too
That was a beautiful clean toss by KayAnne. She really got some distance. Vicky's toss was nice and clean as well. That must have been scary for Nathan. He did very well. :o) Thanks for sharing.
Months caring for these animals back to healthy. That few seconds of releasing them back to the wild, seeing them flying, must have felt immensely satisfying.
The best part about this video is it has so many views, which means that each and every person is watching the video to the full. Id rather have 1 loyal subscriber to watch my videos and cheer me on than a million or more!
Love your vids. I worked offshore oil and gas for 30 years. When ever there had been a strong north wind, birds would get blown offshore and our rig was the only thing to land on. Falcons or Seahawks would kill them so fast and were so well fed that they only ate the brains of the birds and leave the rest to rot and eventually the bones would get into our sump system.
I called you just a few days ago about a raven that my cats almost killed I’m guessing the bird preened it’s feathers up and managed to fly out of our backyard so it’s ok.👌
Have you ever had one get the hood off inside the cage? Its funny that you can put a golden in with a bald eagle! Dang, look at the talons on that Eagle!😱 Oh my goodness, I would absolutely love to release an Eagle. Yes, I for pray for everyone involved, via frontline workers, the patients and thousands of others that either have covid or are helping those who have it....
