This wonderful man Martin and what he does for these gorgeous creatures is amazing. You can watch his videos on RUclips and follow him. People are so cruel and to those horrible people who plucked the tail feathers out of the beautiful Hawk remember what goes around shall surely come around. Your karma is toast!!! Thank you for all that you guys do!
When you first moved to Utah, you were seeing a lot of large raptors that had been shot at. Now you see very few injured in that fashion. So your education program has worked for that problem. Now you're having to educate the well-meaning, unknowledgeable folks not to pick up baby birds unless the latter are at risk from injury. Well, that's progress! You're doing a great job. Thank you for the update on the white belly bald eagle’s progress! Even though it’s going to be a while before he can be released back into the wild, it’s amazing to see how far he has come! Thank you for what you do!
I've always been a red tail hawk kinda gal. I love them so much. I live in British Columbia and I once saw a Peregrine Falcon do a dive from the top of the Annacis Island Bridge. It was amazing.

Scout is a beautiful bird, I have a bird friend too, it is a wild turkey buzzard, everyday it flies over my yard here in Mississippi, it does 3 low circles above me and tilts its wings, several times it has been seen sitting on the top of my light pole or on the fence in my yard. I named him Scout the first time I saw him, he has been coming to my yard everyday for over 6 years. I like to think that he comes to say hello to me :) ... I really like your channel and I look forward to watching more videos and hopefully being able to contribute to your cause in the near future. Thank you for all you do to help our bird friends.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING ALL THE WONDERFUL BIRDS YOU ARE TAKING CARE OF AND HELPING SOME HEAL SO THEY CAN GO BACK TO NATURE. I WILL PURCHASE THE BOOK AS SOO AS I CAN.
I Love what your are doing. I wonder what would happen if you put opening to all of your animals that would let them go and come as they please. Your a very special person and I think they would come back because they know that's home. I just said to my wife when you release these birds your the talk on the town of these animals and they are all saying if you get hurt your going to Martin's. Lol God Bless Everybody.
Good video highlighting some beautiful raptors waiting for either flight feathers to grow out of be released. Thanks SWFU for your hard work and animal compassion. If I lived out that way instead of Chicago, I'd volunteer to be instructed on how to clean and sweep out those messy pens 🐦 Just arm me up for battle.
Have you thought about doing a training with Police & other agencies that would be called in for help for baby birds, so they can tell the 'rescuers' to leave them alone & let them know the parents will continue to feed them until they can fly? It might save some baby birds from being brought in. And they're sometimes called before the rescuers take the bird in, so that's the point to stop people from taking them in. Just a thought...
Hi Martin, congratulations on 90K subscribers. You'll get to 100K in no time. Question: Why do you Belle and Helen have to be secured (by their jessies) when they are kept in the chamber during the day? Would this limit their movement? Just wondering what the reasons or advantages are. Thank you.
Would we get a hawk like that up in New England? I was watching a bird that seemed to be playing in our back yard (8 acres) and it seemed to be having fun hopping from spot to spot, playing with bits in the grass, when suddenly it strutted across the yard, like those soldiers that fling their legs forward in front of them. I laughed so hard. I was starting to wonder if it could fly when it expanded a huge width of wings flying up to the top of the wood pile. I tried to find about bids with feathers right down the legs. His looked just a light cream but he was too far away to see if they were speckled. One site says only 2 hawks have feathers down the legs, (Rough-legged and Ferruginous) but then there seem to be more than 2 with various names when looking at images. Sadly this one hasn't been back in a few days.
Henry Freeman thanks for your lovely message i am actually a very positive thinker, i have a good many physical problems with my body which can’t be fixed and just go day by day eventually it will beat me but till then i live each day as a new day of life .I love watching the recovery and the final day when these lovey mighty animals get to go home and be free with nature as it was supposed to be but with so much knowledge i do worry that not as many will be able to make it home again, and i hope the day i leave this world i find myself happy flying with theses magnificent beautiful animals.
@@katherinefranklin2586 thank you for response I learn something uniquely marvelous most everyday. I admire you for your strength. May God continue to bless and empower you after all he is the wind beneath your wings.🐞
Here’s a weird question: how do you prevent depression in your birds? I’m asking bc we adopted a stray, senior cat and while we‘d prefer him to stay inside he gets depressed when he can’t be outside. So we have to let him out. It’s not ideal because he gets into trouble with other cats & obviously carries more potential for bugs, fleas, germs. It’s not helpful but I can’t stand seeing him depressed.
Is there a strong possibility that the Cooper hawk pair will nest in the same park again next season? It would be awful for the same situation to happen again.
"You'd think with the pandemic, people wouldn't be picking up so many birds" LOL! People now have the time & boredom, to actually go out into their yards & back woods to run across them. That's why you're seeing so many. In addition, because hardly no people are outside, the wildlife is encroaching closer & closer to the caged people. Check out the YT vids of the wild animals in streets, yards, parks, etc.
does these birds like falcons understand you or bond with you in intelligent way like dogs would do ?? i don't think these birds are as smart as dogs are, correct ?
It must add up fast! 🥺. Besides the having frozen mice and other foods available, you’ve got to keep frozen, too. Your electric bill must be outrageous!🤔🤨🧐

Question:
What literally constitutes a life-threatening situation for these birds?
I once found a juvenile hawk in the middle of a country road.
Countless cars kept veering around the immobilized animal.
It wasn't until I finally found myself at the front of the line that I realized what all the vehicles were avoiding.
I carefully pulled to the shoulder of the road and used the binoculars in my glove compartment to search the sky and neighboring trees.
There was no sign of any other hawks, surprisingly.
I took off my shirt and quickly wrapped it around the torso of the bird and removed him from the onslot of traffic his presence had accumulated.
After taking down the name of the road and calling the Humane Society, I carefully drove my car with my left hand, and held the bird firmly in my right hand until we made our way to our destination.
It was a long 1 and 1/2 hour drive to the shelter, but we made it.
The bird and I sharing the ride
in total silence.

I have on my property a Peregrine Falcon and a Golden Eagle. Surprisingly they get along keeping distance of each other.
You are amazing and so very much appreciated, may the God of all eagles, falcons and hawks continue to bless all the good that you do 😊 The individual who plucked that hawks tail feathers is a true bird brain and a genuine relative of the exstinct dodo, 🔩 and a 🐴petutty.

It is safer for them so they don't damage their wings on the enclosure walls.

Sadly this one hasn't been back in a few days.
Golden and Bald eagles can be kept in the same enclosure?
As long as there is plenty of food, they get by okay. Martin keeps an eye and judges each situation. We only have one big chamber.
Question do u put a baby pool with live fish in it for bald eagles?
No
it worries me what’s going to happen when you finally stop ,i know you said that the day i’m in a box but who’s going to carry on
I do hope he trained someone who can carry on some of Martins knowledge so that his wonderfull soulwork will exist. 😃🇳🇱
Martin impresses me as a uber intelligent man, I'm pretty sure he's got that eggshell cracked. Remember positive people do positive smart things. 🔮
@@katherinefranklin2586kind people like you give me hope in this world love🙏🙏🙏🙏
Why don't you put Belle's name on the silver plaque?
Scout is the big wig
Here’s a weird question: how do you prevent depression in your birds? I’m asking bc we adopted a stray, senior cat and while we‘d prefer him to stay inside he gets depressed when he can’t be outside. So we have to let him out. It’s not ideal because he gets into trouble with other cats & obviously carries more potential for bugs, fleas, germs. It’s not helpful but I can’t stand seeing him depressed.
do eagles claws hurt? I got this question because you wear gloves to keep them.
They can be very damaging. Martin talks more about gloves here:

Thanks!!
Is there a strong possibility that the Cooper hawk pair will nest in the same park again next season? It would be awful for the same situation to happen again.
Possible, yes.
And a Marten in a pear tree!
Yep
"You'd think with the pandemic, people wouldn't be picking up so many birds"
LOL!
Wish i could work with you guys but im somewhere else in utah but i do work with birds
Thank you for your interest!
Was Scout in molt?
Yes
Why is Helen teathered?
She has poor eyesight
does these birds like falcons understand you or bond with you in intelligent way like dogs would do ?? i don't think these birds are as smart as dogs are, correct ?
Each bird is very different just as each dog is very different. Wild birds are never pets.
@@GowildlifeOrg i am planning on buying wild eagle or falcon egg and raising them and making them my pets. It can be done. i seen it before
because you were only allowed to exercise your find more people were out in the outdoors
It must add up fast! 🥺. Besides the having frozen mice and other foods available, you’ve got to keep frozen, too. Your electric bill must be outrageous!🤔🤨🧐
Martin rigged up solar panels
@@GowildlifeOrg Very smart. 👌👍
I just knew it! I just knew you guys had to have solar panels because you’re smart like that! Love it!
First. Nah nah, NAH Nah nah.
