This is the only song that has made me cry the first time I listened to it (5:38 specifically.) A lot was going on in my life which probably allowed it to even happen. Either way, it’s still genuinely such a wonderful song. Thank you Aphex Twin.
Danced in my bedroom to this again and again in many different moods throughout winter 2020. Such classic driving emotional rhythm. Strings are like a fresh breeze that has travelled across the oceans from Detroit to the UK, a fragrant breeze that can be felt on the skin, piquant like the smell of petitgrain. Hope Richard will never stop making techno.
This song might've been released quite some time ago, but your uploads make me go back to them. It's always an amazing experience, and I can't be grateful enough... thank god for Richard D. James
Rusty Shackleford Don't worry about that. He was very popular back in the nineties during the rave scene. That scene died in the noughties, never to return.
@@paddymuppy the underground techno scene may be decimated but never forgotten. Kids discovered him and earnestness is kinda par for the course. I'm very fond of Richard but yes it can be a tad obsequious. I'm pretty sure the same kids don't know what Detroit techno is, unfortunately, and don't care, for example. It's mildly confusing. I just hope he keeps making music. Jeff Mills never stopped. Fashions come and go. Even the mullet, granny glasses, high waisted jeans, double denim, ad nauseum have all been exhumed so far. Also, John Travolta can make a comeback, why not underground techno? Most of it currently still remains obscure even in a world where the algorithm parades the arcane, so it's far from played out. And the thing is, most good techno still sounds fresh - futuristic and timeless. Maybe after the pandemic, if there will ever be such a thing, there will be a zeitgeist, and underground techno will stage a new wave 🌊
@@mothratemporalradio517 You can't compare Jeff Mills to the Irish producer Richard D James (AphexTwin) Jeff Mills was a genius on the decks and a Roland 808 live. But, has a handful of tracks that are really good. Richard has an endless catalogue of music that is beyond genius. Elon Musk is a Cow Cud.
@@paddymuppy Richard is from Cornwall. If you have no respect for the legacy of Detroit musicians including Jeff Mills when it comes to techno, then i have absolutely no respect for your opinion concerning techno, because in my view you have no idea what you're talking about. That's like trying to say that George Clinton had nothing significant to offer with regard to funk, it's just straight up ignorant. I do think Richard has a wider range, but Jeff Mills is a pioneer of techno, a wizard and an alien. 👽 Tchüss.
The perfect combination of something that's completely danceable and yet supremely meditative, cerebral, and transcendent. Truly timeless.
this is one of those tracks you can just sink away into and forget about the world for a while, like an analogue bubblebath

i love when i can hear a song made by him and really enjoy it in the first time listening, some songs i take some time to properly apreciate

From 4:27 to 4:36 it sounds like XMAS_EVET10 off of Syro
they're the same key so it's certainly possible there's some overlap in the chord structures
When's the new Bradley Strider EP though is the real question.
Can you believe it was 1991 some of the best techno ever made
4:28 min in future syro material
YAH!
This is similar to dancing 🕺 on Mount. Twatty Bolocks . :-)
