    Hello, Mr. Steiner! When you are practicing flexibility, how do you think the air: air forward, low register upward and high register downward, etc. or do you just think about singing? Thank you very much in advance! ☺ Thank you very much for your incredible videos! 😘

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  7 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there, thank you for your message and kind words 🙏🏻
      I think mostly about singing. Usually when I noticed an issue in my air when playing the instrument I go to singing - that resolves most problems for me.
      When thinking about air I always try to focus on a steady & gentle stream from note to note, trying not to create too many tensions.
      Hope that helps 😀 Best, Peter

    Thank you for this amazing video! One question though, would you say it is beneficial to add the A flat before the high B flat in flexibility exercises? How come you skip the A flat and just do F to high B flat? Thanks, I'm a huge fan please keep up the awesome videos!

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  3 года назад +4

      Thank you very much for watching and for your great question. I skip that partial on the trombone, because I never really need it in pieces. Many more times in music I need the F to Bb slur... also, the Ab I NEVER play in 1st position and the only 2 other notes I use on that partial are G and F#. Hope that helps 😀

    Finde es sehr nützlich daß man ihren Ansatz ( embouchure ) sehen kann. ( 0:57 try to keep your corners and your embouchure firm, don't move around too much)

    Hi Peter,
    Thank you for uploading this video!
    Could you please let me know what is your ‘vowel sound’ concept when changing register (e.g.)-U for mid register, -AW for low register and -EE for high register) ?

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  9 месяцев назад +2

      I go with whatever is most natural - I sing it first and then imitate on the trombone what vowels I used when singing. Trying not to over complicate playing an instrument 😀

    Buongiorno ,quando dici di tenere fermi gli angoli ,cosa consigli per farlo e per non irrigidire le labbra?grazie e complimenti

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Buongiorno 😃 grazie per il tuo messaggio! È veramente difficile fissare gli angoli e non perdere la agilità. Il lavoro sui angoli inizia dal primo minuto con il trombone ogni giorno. Consiglio lavorare sui esercizi in un tempo calmo e pensando ad un suono aperto, gli angoli fissi (mento piatto) e l’ aria che connette ogni nota.
      Se lavoro solo sui angoli e il mento suono scale veramente lente.

    • @faustomiglioresi5800
      @faustomiglioresi5800 3 года назад

      Se si pensa alle labbra in avanti secondo te è sbagliato, cioè se si mette piu labbro dentro il bocchino?

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  3 года назад +1

      Io pensi di si, perché se il mio labbro va in avanti io perdo tutta la flessibilità se l’intervallo è grande. E a quel momento gli angoli non sono fermi e faccio fatica trovare le note giuste.

    What happens to the middle of the embouchure when you start to move into low register (don’t mean extreme low register )?

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  3 года назад +4

      That depends where your “break” is. We all have to shift at a different note... for me: I don’t have to shift in the range of these exercises , therefore I try to keep my embouchure as stabile as possible.

    • @craigsproston7378
      @craigsproston7378 3 года назад +1

      When we say firm corners how firm is firm. My corners are relaxed in the middle register down to low Bb [2nd line of staff]?

    • @PeterSteinerOfficial
      @PeterSteinerOfficial  3 года назад +4

      Good question. As firm as you need to keep them in order to still be at your maximum flexibility. The lower I go, the less I hold them. Hope this helps!
