I'm sorry to say Marner is a wonderful talent but him as a person he's awful. If you can't understand your weaknesses and accept you weren't good there is no growth in him other than relying on his talent but he'll never win a championship. He might go to another team with better character players and win but he'll never understand to be a player that is relied upon to win a cup. If you could morph Tanev's personality into Marner you would have a $15 million a year player because he would be worth it. I can live with Willie, Matthews has the same Marner disease starting they need to fundamentally change the personalities on this team. This team was so exciting when they were younger and we didn't know what we had as far as a team. But they're personalities have matured and unfortunately Marner needs to go , let him walk. They don't need to lock up Tavares he's producing in a contract year that is his last he knows it and is laying it all out there. The Leafs lock him up expect a big drop off for him. Locking up Marner you ruin any chance of this team ever doing anything Marner's disease will spread to every young player coming up and seap into every part of the dressing room.

My take on this year’s team is that it has exceptional defensemen who are just that - exceptional defense first players. And exceptional goaltending. On offence, they have 3 versatile stars (Matthews Marner Nylander), 1.5 prospective stars (Knies, McMann) and the remaining forwards are one dimensional (Tavares, Pacioretty) and/or extremely mediocre (Domi, Robertson, Kampf, Holmberg, Dewar, Reavo etc). What about Tavares’ stats this year? Well, he’s being carried by the stars. Same with Pax
I'm tired of the excuses. Tired of hearing about lessons learned. Team needs a big shake up. Start moving out the dead wood and get somebody who wants to win and hates to lose. Show some bloody emotion for once.
