  • Gold Mines in the Wild Wet West
A climbing trip turned to mine exploration above the mining town of Tyndrum ;) Heavy rain saw us go for plan B where we made an unexpected discovery on the hillside. Turns out it was lead and no gold that lead to this feature but hey ho, there be gold in them hills somewhere!! A bit of hat envy happening in this vlog too ...

That was the favourite Layby for Gold Panners going on the "Crom Alt" just across the road. One of the best rivers for Gold panning. The upper area is an SSI. But I've been told by many panners the gold actually stops higher up. Not sure its aloud these days as the more aggressive methods of gold prospecting can damage the ecology of the river. You can do it all nice and legal though down at the Wanlockhead Estate. Where the gold is more sparse but a much higher purity..

alex west should’ve brought my gold finding equipment 😂 - don’t think I’d be very good at panning though - my knees would complain too much 😭

@@ScotlandsMountains Haha. I know I used to do it a little bit. My knees wouldn't be up to it at all these days. Best save them for your fantastic hikes!😀

I learn something new about Scotland with every video! Might I ask when you did this hike? Can't help but notice it is June and you are in coats! We may have to rethink our hiking clothes for Scotland, lol.

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
