The B&Ms of BGT

- Busch Gardens Tampa has a tremendous collection of coasters, bolstered by three legendary B&Ms. This video takes a look at how these coasters came to the park, their counterparts over at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, and ultimately ranks them.
I agree. I was very impressed with my first ride on Montu this year. It is intense, smooth, and paced really well. Shiekra was short but sweet. And the drops were more fun than Yukon striker due to the restraints. Kumba is such a nostalgic coaster that I finally got to ride and it was fun but definitely a bit rough. I love the how it looks in the park, however.
I miss Drachen Fire. I only got to ride it one day shortly after it opened (original layout), but it was during a high school field trip (long story), so it was a school day, and it was a slightly rainy, overcast day. My friends and I couldn't believe that BGW had a brand new coaster that was a walk on for the whole time we were there! I got to marathon Drachen Fire and I LOVED it! Can you imagine though, if B&M had built it (same layout, all inversions intact), just imagine... it would probably still be at BGW (enjoyed and revered) to this day!
And we all could have compared Drachen Fire to Kumba. I'd like to visit BGT someday to find out for myself. Also, to see how Shiekra and Montu stack up against Griffon and Alpengeist (I LOVE Griffon and Alpengeist)
My home park: Kumba has a rattle in the back and sheikra has none
Definitely felt a rattle in the back on Kumba and idk what was going on with Sheikra the day I was there
That's actually true
Awesome video and I think you were spot on with your ranking plus I have heard that the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg has better rides then the Tampa location, I wonder if that will change when Iron Gwazi opens up, I look forward to seeing more of your videos!!!
If you think that the drop on shekira is good try oblivion’s, it is mostly in the dark and it has the old trains and harnesses
4:48 You just started a gang war.
I love all three of these coasters. As a Florida resident I've ridden these many times. Though i would switch Shiekra and Kumba on my list. You're right about Shiekra being a one trick pony, that's why I put Kumba higher. 1. Montu 2. Kumba 3. Shiekra
The best B&M collection in any park 😍
@Top Thrill Coasters And SWO is an hour away
Top Thrill Coasters Montu > AfterBurn
Kumba > Vortex
Sheikra > Intrimidator but then no B&M can combat Fury cause there’s none left oof
@Top Thrill Coasters riding my dryer is more fun than Vortex
Top Thrill Coasters when has a B&M standup besides Riddler ever been intense
Top Thrill Coasters Afterburn looks kinda lame tbh lol, also I feel like I’m gonna be one of the guys who loves Kumba, and Sheikra is arguably the best dive coaster, Montu looks like an actual dream invert for me
Lovely coasters! ⚡🔥
Don't think Kumba has a rattle at all. It's perfectly smooth and is my favourite ride at BGT.
SheiKra also has no rattle at all
Definitely agree with this list. Montu definitely the strongest at the park when i came over from the UK in 2009!
I can’t decide between Kumba and Montu as my favorite coaster. ShieKra is nice, but it’s probably #4 in the park for me and can’t compare to the other B&Ms there. I love the intensity of Kumba, and Montu has what is possibly the best layout of any coaster I’ve ever ridden. Also, that batwing is one of the most satisfying moments I’ve experienced on a coaster. Kumba’s rattle doesn’t bother me, tbh.
Idk if u got a bad ride or something but every time I've ridden sheikra I have never had a rattle. It's the smoothest out of the three
Do one of these for BGW
KUMBA IS TOP 25
kumba is the 6th B&M Ever To Open
Not sure I like the rattle part, but I would still put Sheikra before montu.
Sheikra does not have a rattle lmao it’s so damn smooth come on
Brandon 100% agree maybe he got a bad ride
I'll give you Kumba that was borderline but Sheikra kinda jackhammered me. So weird.
There wasn't for a really long time, but about 6 months ago it developed a jarring rattle right after the splashdown that I've noticed everyone I've ridden it since then (around 8-10 times), and there is a significant rattle throughout on occasion.
Airtime Thrills that Sucks I rode Shiekra in June 2018
Luke I rode it in June 2018
NO RATTLE
I made a B&Ms of Cedar Point video.... :/ Like two months ago. Where I ranked each one, talked about them, and made a mini review for each. K then.
4 of my 5 favorite B&Ms are in Florida
Mako was the fourth?
Have to disagree... Kumba is my favorite B&M coaster (have yet to ride Fury 325). I also though do love Montu and find ShieKra to be solid but weakest of the three at the park and even prefer Cheetah Hunt to it. I think kumba has a slight rattle but not rough but rather extremely forceful from start to finish! Rain rides were amazing!
Kumba is definitely a good solid coaster with a great setting but it didn't stand out from other loopers I've ridden. Given the hype I thought it would be really something special.
This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I really like dive coasters, I genuinely think that they're underrated by the enthusiasts.
Totally agree. Sheikra is my favorite out of those three.
Over the years I've gone between Kumba and Montu as my favorite, but for the last 3 years or so I've settled on Kumba. Shiekra is definitely the worst by a long shot and is barely #4 in the park for me. If a coaster is going to be this much of a one-trick pony, the drop should be significantly better than the drop of an average B&M hyper, which it not.
None of these coasters are intense, I'm 12 and i'v never even grayed out on one of these
Honestly, kumba is one of my top 20 favorite rides in the world, and I've ridden 253 mind you.
The b&m might be good but air Grover is the best coaster there
Raptor at Cedar Point is a B&M Invert and that opened in 1994. I believe that is the 08th EVER B&M in the world.
I would say that Montu is 1, Kumba is 2 and Sheikra 3
I rode Sheikra and Kumba 3 times each and thought they were both perfectly smooth.
Who knows what was going on for me that day, Kumba wasnt really bad but Sheikra was undeniably rough
I got unlucky as when i went to busch gardens tampa kumba was closed but i got on my first b and m dive and second favourite invert( as nemesis is first) i love the park
Kumba is the best rollercoaster in the park
This is my home park. Anyone else?
nice vid
Interesting that I rank them Kumba, SheiKra, Montu
Speaking of Drachenfire, have you or anyone else ever rode it before it's unfortunate end? I was lucky or as viewed from others unlucky to have ridden it in my lifetime. The version that me and my friend rode is when the corkscrew after the break run was removed. We rode it over 30 times in a 2-day period. Of course the only way to ride it was in the very front. Anywhere else would give you a headache. They must have made a mint selling pain medicine.🤣
That feeling from the 1st inversion at the top was something else when the rest of the train pushed you through it.
Unfortunately no, i rode a lot of the old defunct west coast coasters but I didnt ride anything on the far east coast til 2008
@@AirtimeThrills when me and my buddy were riding it, we could run back to the entrance after getting off and be back on the front in about a minute or less. It was a blast in the front and the cars had a cool shape to them.
Do you think Riddlers Revenge should convert to Sit down? I love Riddler and don't mind the stand up, but seems everyone complains. I think Riddler would be considered better than Kumba if they converted it. Cheers and love the channel
Thanks! And that's a tough call, the park probably wouldn't want it to be too similar to Scream and the stand up feature makes it unique but I definitely think it would be better as a sitdown. Riddler and Kumba remind me of each other, after riding Kumba I basically was thinking its Riddler with sitdown trains.
Riddler already slaughters scream as a stand up, a sit down wouldn’t even be fair lol
People are saying this park has the best B&M collection in the world while Sea World Orlando is an hour away
BGT is still the better park tho and it is my favorite park I’ve been too
Think you forgot Carowinds existed
EastCoastCoasters I’m not saying Carowinds B&M collection is not as good as SWOs, I’m just saying SWOs B&Ms are better than BGTs
Oh, ok
I'd say they're on par with each other. Each has 3 awesome B&M's and they're all different from each other. BG has 3 types that SW doesn't have and SW has 3 OTHER types that BG doesn't have. Orlando resident. I love me some B&M.
Kumba last, Shiekra second, Montu first. I guess we read each others minds??? (cuz my b&m list for that park is exactly the same)
