I really enjoy these gemologist vs geologist videos. I had an interesting thought is there a dark and transparent mineral or gem? I play in a lot of dnd games and I was wondering if there was some substance that could be used to make a sort of lense for sunglasses with medieval technologies? (For example use a slow saw and polish to make a flat lense then wrap in thin copper/tin wire?)
Go Michigan! I love going to Lake Superior, though I live in the lower part of the Lower Penninsula. Copper Harbor is great fun and so is Tequamenon area.
Copper kitchen benches delay germ growth by 30+days- brilliant substance. So too is Silver and Gold, to heal wounds in a quarter of that of regular bandages. How brilliant is the nature of gems and mineralogy!💎
Don't forget that you did a video on Larimar and Copper is what gives Pectolite it's blue or blue-green colors for Larimar. Also, what do think about making a video about Raritanium from the Ratchet and Clank game series?
I guess those blue and green spots are mostly Copper Sulfate and Carbonate. Copper Oxides are black for CuO and a yellowish red for Cu2O and like the green and blue patina thats forming on copper statues the material is attacked by carbonic and sulfuric acid to form the compounds.
After watching these two i see the clear difference between a geologist and a gemologist Example: Gem: This is Lake Superior Geo: This looks like most every other lakes
Yeah Bradley, respect story time with Natalie

I think I love your geologist friend! Her accent doesn't help much either, I have a soft spot for slight Southern accents.

I love napis's new outfit on Steven Universe Future has a little bit of copper. Because most lapis lazuli has copper
I work with copper all the time; it is cool to see it in the form that it is found in!
There is an age between the Neolithic and the Bronze Age was the Chalcolithic Age which is the Copper Age.
Bronze is not a natural metal it is technically an alloy

I love your Michigan/UP/Lake Superior stories! I'm a "troll" living in the LP, but next trip UP, I'll be hunting for treasures even more.

Do one on how fiery opals are bad luck. Please please please. My wife refuses to wear opals because of bad luck.
Cool pictures of the copper at the end. We love copper here in Michigan.
