Great review! Mine is being produced this month, can't wait for it to arrive! They are suffering from a large backlog, this review will certainly not help that situation. Going to use it with the Leo Bodnar cable I already have, so same configuration.
Great review. It had an ASMR feel to it - very chilled vibe :) Thanks for making the effort to really go into detail with this one. I'm thinking about getting one for my current setup and this really helped... guess it's a no brainer really. Thanks again.

I'm looking to get this brake mod but I was curious. I play on a G920 on my Xbox, where is this firmware curve applied? Is it in the firmware in the Logitech computer program or is it somehow applied in the wheel when the signal is sent through the wheel to the console?
Your videos are absolutely the greatest! I'm very new to the sim community. I have a cousin that's been paraplegic since he was 16, hes 26 now I believe. Cant use his legs. I just recently visited his state for a death in the family. He showed me his racing wheel and pedals. I then watched him play Iracing stuff and seen how he was having to use his hand on the pedals while steering with the other hand and felt terrible because hes really into racing. The wheels with analog paddles seem super expensive. Being handicapped, he struggles financially and hes recently started a family. I'm trying to build him a sim rig. I was really wanting to do a 2DOF with traction loss using aluminum extrusion after looking into everything heavily. I'm not wealthy either lol. I've realized it might be out of reach for me to do for him. Everything seems pretty expensive. But I REALLY want to make his sim dreams happen. Can anyone point me in the right direction on a build thats 2dof with traction loss that isnt going to cost more than 1.5 grand? Its going to take me long enough to learn actuators and servos. I'm getting overwhelmed lol. Any help would be super appreciated. I am in other communities online but I cant really find anything for what I'm looking for.
Sounds like a great thing your trying to do for your cousin. Doing it for $1,500 is going to be tough though. About the best you can do cost wise would be a DOF Reality H3 but those are still about $2,000. Hope it works out!!
I can't offer much in the way of advice as I'm new to sim racing as well, I just wanted to say your love for your cousin is beautiful to see. Best wishes
Hey man. Late to the party on this one. But, you can get hand throttle/brake controls to use with wheels. Might be worth looking into. www.3drap.it/product/hand-controller-throttle-and-brake-gaming-is-possible/#reviews
Pfff! This is a week to late, today my first load cell pedals arrived, the Fanatec CSL Elite LC to replace my G29s pedals. It feels very different, guess it takes some time to change from potentiometer G29 pedal to LC brake pedal. Did you guys go through this experience? How much time/hours did it take to get used to the LC brake? I am doing Practice and Special Events in ACC, not feeling ready to race online yet with the Fanatec LC brake :-)
Ștefan Roșu : I had the same experience a number of years ago when I bought my CSR Elite pedals with adjustable loadcell brake. I was pretty darn good with my G27 pedals (which I had used since they came out until 2008), knowing exactly how to use ‘em to be effective in my racing... hit the brake pedal all the way to the floor and then ease off to release the lock-up (NOT the other way around). I found that I could be very consistent in my braking and enjoyed the immediate, light response of the brake pedal ... very helpful on turn-in. The good news is that it does not take long to get used to the load cell and it is definitely more life-like, even if I probably still was better with my G27 loosy-goosy brake.

Which makes the throttle/engine hack😢!??! If I step on the brake quickly, the knocking stops for a minute or so, but comes back soon! The steering wheel and pedals are only 4 months old! Have you heard of this problem? Today I have "deadzoon" 10 on the brake and 6 on the gas!??? To be able to drive at all! Very new to all aspects of sim racing. In fact, have only had my PS5 and G29 for less than a week. I'm confused about your conversion using the USB to the wheel unit. If I use this on my G29 how do I bypass the firmware? The G29 does not have a USB input, only the serial input.
what about the g920 pedals for xbox one!!??? logitech use weird springs and i am about to swap them out for better springs with the ring sealers and plug sealers!! will this work on the g920 clutch, gas and brake pedals for xbox one!!?? also have you tried using the handbrake for drifting without the shifters!!??
you’ve got a great voice. thank you for the tear down and review. you said the product works, and justifies the price. as a viewer, i would have appreciated guidance on how well this compares to low end load cell pedals like the TLCM from thrustmaster. would you be able to get lower lap times or more confidence and consistency on the TLCM pedals? if so, by how much? you put a couple hours into driving this, so you already know what your time trial times would be on this versus whatever your go-to pedals are, and i would appreciate if you shared that.
Nice review, I just ordered mine and Im still trying to figure out what preload to use, Which one is closes to factory on logitech 920? I assuming the smallest one axc has ?
Well, it's not cheap but not that expensive too...about 65, 66 euros. Thank you, very interesting (and convincing). BTW your driving station is gorgeous!!!
Yeah it makes very little actual sense to buy st that price, because for one its more expensive than what the pedals are worth, and 2 you could pick up better pedals for not much more money
Thanks for the review! I bought this mod earlier but it was way too stiff for me, but seen how you dismantled, so after that I knew how to change the main spring. Now it's brilliant!
Hey could you send a link to what spring you used. A natural full force braking pressure I use only is around 40% of the total force it needs to have to reach 100%. So I'd appreciate it if you can advice me on what spring u used
Does anyone know what Barry means with the "Logitech firmware add-on" at 47:52 ? If I understood correctly this is not referring to the Leo Bodnar adapter, since he says the add-on provided by Logitech.
@@TheAndertejker From what I understand. The G29 stock brake pedal has a small piece of rubber inside of the spring tube to make the pedal feel a little stiffer when pressed down to full range. Because of this the G29 wheel's firmware adds a bit of an upward input curve to braking strength to compensate for the stiffness and reduced full range of motion from that of the G27 which does not have the same rubber piece. This was considered an upgrade to the feel of the pedals, otherwise identical to the G27. The Leo Bodner adapter bypasses the G29 firmware by hooking directly to the pc. Giving the pedal a linear input Like the stock G27 Before it.
@@mungaloidender Oh yeah that explains it, thanks. Barry really wasn't a fan of that rubber thing / firmware curve, I missed this bit of sarcasm from him

@@cryptobigboss I got an email recently saying mine had shipped. They said back in June that their next batch was waiting for electronics from overseas, from what I recall.
but how does it feel compare to high end pedals? i understand its might not 100% competiable to fanatec or HPP pedals, but given most complains are about the brakes on logitech pendal, while now with truebrake mod, does it make the 5x or 10x high end pedals justifiable? I think a lot of people find its hard to justifiy how much you have to spend just wants to have a real car feel on your brake. like HPP pedals it cost 1500USD, thats almost a cost of a high-end PC. if the truebrakes can at least get similar feel in 80%, i'd say i'll recommend people go with G29 with mods, rather than high end pedals
I got this mod for my logitech G923 pedal base running Gran Turismo 7 on a PS5. Following the directions I switched the hub from the clutch to the brake, disconnected the R/W/B wires from the logitech potentiometer, reconnected to TBv2 wire harness. I am registering zero braking in GT7 after install. Suggestions? I double checked the correct color wires were matching to the harness
Hello I'm David, I'm French, I just watched your video and I would like to do as you put my g29 pedalboard live on my pc, I would like to know what software you used to make it work. Thanks in advance
If you were limited to console which would be a better upgrade Ricmotech or Truebrake? I would invest in CSL Elite pedals but to make it compatible with a G920 it would cost like $100-$200 more.
hello there!! Yesterday, I installed the True Brake into my G923 pedals, but since I have my left ankle injured, it came to stiff, that after only five pedal pushes, my ankle started to hurt, and still do 24hrs later. So I disabled the pedals again and installed the OEM spring, and know even if i push the pedal to the maximum, it only reports 74% in all the games and in G-hub... can you please give some advice. Thanks
Thanks for this detailed review. I also liked your thoughts at the end about load cells. I think this device is more like a spring gauge than it is like a load cell. I think it's quite clever though and after seeing your review I've ordered one for my G29.
Anyone using it with a g25 /27 and no Leo bodnar mod? I'm thinking of buying one for my g25 Pedals and I'm curious as to whether the lack of a bigger resolution on the stock logitech interface when compared to the Leo bodnar cable makes much of a difference (as in, it can't read the smaller movements of the TrueBrake's sensor)
just got it. easy to install for sure. I even got the cable to bypass the firmware but now the throttle is not working the same. I'm assuming because of the firm wear bypass. I am going to try their potentiometer upgrade for the throttle see if that helps. Sucks because if i had known that i would have saved a bunch of shipping and have both installed and working already.
Regardless of what you want to say this is still a brake pedal modification that is based on the amount of total brake travel just like the stock g29 or 920 pedals and not pressure based like a load cell set up. With the amount of plastic used in the cheap pedal construction instead of wasting your money trying to make the cheap pedals be a better pedal set why not just upgrade to a better pedal set that is made to properly operate under load cell level pressures?
at about 43:00 you mention bypassing the logitech firmware because of the potentiometer curve. Anybody out there who could tell me how to do that with my g920?
Im hoping to get the logitech g29 and driving force shifter on palm sunday 3 days away on my birth day. i saw my present wrapped up in the top of my parents closet.
Is ther somtihng spezial i have to watch if im conecting my g29 padels the same way? Any spezial software i need bc. i was looking for an answer on the internet but could not find something.
(ATTENTION!) For you console players out there this would not work very well. Unless your game allows for manual pedal calibration. GT Sport for instance calibrates the pedals in the background and looks for how far the pedal travels and sets that to max, if you push the brake harder then it will set a new max. This happens everytime you start the game. So just be aware of that sort of thing. This is definitely oriented towards PC sims/games that have manual calibration.
Thank you for the info. I just purchased a Logitech G923 and I would like to know what would be the best mod for the brake. Ricmotech load cell or anything else?! P.S. I am new to the sim racing scene.
I want to get one of these but my G27 pedals are old and the potentiometers sometimes act up, despite cleaning them. They are fine at the moment but if I buy a TrueBrake kit I just know my throttle will start spiking again :(
Subbed! I absolutely love your videos! Your style is more like I'm watching a real automotive installation/ review, which is great cause tech RUclipsrs often leave a lot of questions on the table. Also, a question- Should I go for the Logitech G29? It's way cheaper and the only difference I'm aware of is the loadcell simulator on the newer sets, which is pointless if I plan on doing this mod. Also I hear the new pedals have a weird exponential curve in the brake pedal.

This guy! ruclips.net/video/moCFogTJD3E/видео.html
I cant get my 3 wires off the brake pedal..dunno why it seems stuck and i dont want to apply any extra force. Any advice?
Great review! Mine is being produced this month, can't wait for it to arrive! They are suffering from a large backlog, this review will certainly not help that situation. Going to use it with the Leo Bodnar cable I already have, so same configuration.
Update: It's excellent! Enormous difference with the original brake
I love your reviews you take your time you show and explain every single detail of a sim racing product.
Great review. It had an ASMR feel to it - very chilled vibe :)
Thanks for making the effort to really go into detail with this one. I'm thinking about getting one for my current setup and this really helped... guess it's a no brainer really.
Thanks again.
I purchased the Mod, Installed it worked fine for 3 months , now when I press on the acceleration randomly the break spikes 30 - 40% , pedals are undrivable , I have contacted support and waiting for their response ( tried it on another set of new g29 pedals and it does the same thing )
Hi, Just curious about the reliability of this brake. Did you manage to get it fixed?
I'm looking to get this brake mod but I was curious. I play on a G920 on my Xbox, where is this firmware curve applied? Is it in the firmware in the Logitech computer program or is it somehow applied in the wheel when the signal is sent through the wheel to the console?
Good question

With the price of the G920 and then mods you could just get a CSL set.
This is more designed for folks like me who already have the Logitech pedals, but don't want to (or can't) splash the cash on a new load cell set.
that sir is called a jesus clip, when it flies you say jesus where did that go.
What's it like with the stock firmware curve?
Thanks!!❤ Ordered one right away!
Ask 1 Logitec G923 Ps5 DirtRally 2.0, 14" Steering Wheel!
On the "incom" patameters" for steering wheel and pedals in DirtRally 2.0, you can see how signals for brake and throttle are "leaking" even when they are not used.
I have modified both the steering wheel to 14" and the pedals (uses the clutch for the handbrake) so it is not possible to advertise them!
Ask 2 Does bypassing the pedals, bypassing the steering wheel on the Ps5 help too?

You should be the voice actor for movie trailers
Does this work when the g29 is connected to console aka ps4?
Yes, but it is best used on a proper sim rig as the pedal is REALLY heavy. Not worth it if just using a playseat or game chair
@@Al_United ok thanks. I do have a rig so this will benefit me. Thanks for your response
@@danielpersad5789 No problem, hope its good for your racing 👍🏻
@@danielpersad5789 how is it on console?
@@ceementality haven't tried it as yet. Gave it to a friend and I'm ordering in one for me now
Very new to all aspects of sim racing.
I assuming the smallest one axc has ?
i like the box. makes me feel like I'm buying a part for my actual car and therefore makes spending money hurt less.

Hi, got my kit in 2 days and I'm wondering which of the Spacers (3 sizes) do you think is the best to use?
Is it okay if it is installed on the accelerator pedal? Can it provide forced feedback like the PS5 controller does?
Aren't these calibrated with the Logitech curve in mind? That's the impression I got from the graph on their website...
The graph on the website is actually for the amount of force needed to push the pedal down related to the travel of the pedal not the input
does anybody know if this works with the logitech g adapter, i want to use the pedals standalone when i upgrade my wheelbase
Great Stuff....the USB Cable is in this Bundle or ordering separate?
Thanks for the review! I bought this mod earlier but it was way too stiff for me, but seen how you dismantled, so after that I knew how to change the main spring. Now it's brilliant!
Hey could you send a link to what spring you used. A natural full force braking pressure I use only is around 40% of the total force it needs to have to reach 100%. So I'd appreciate it if you can advice me on what spring u used
It’s also too stiff for me, what did I change ?
Worth?
Hi Barry, can you go over how you made the g29 pedals work with your fanatec?
Never mind I found the piece online !
Always wear safety glasses while working with snap rings!
Barry which is better though? This product or the ricmotech load cell?
I had the Ricmotech and the load cell went bad...tech never helped and still waiting
@@stub4488 I ended up getting the true brake and I’m happy so far.
Does anyone know what Barry means with the "Logitech firmware add-on" at 47:52 ? If I understood correctly this is not referring to the Leo Bodnar adapter, since he says the add-on provided by Logitech.
It would be nice to know. Let us hope the youtube guy will answer our question.
Barry really wasn't a fan of that rubber thing / firmware curve, I missed this bit of sarcasm from him
@@hingi_games5421 Glad I was helpful.
Starting this video with 50eur in hand. Have been looking for a reliable review. 🤘
Like how you show and explain every detail of the upgrade and easy to follow instructions
Interesting, didn't know these things existed for Logitech setups!
They were hard to find and hardly had ANY reviews before. I saw a few talking about them in some Facebook groups back in January. Actually ordered mine back in April but because of the "pandemic" and where i live have not received it. Supposedly its being held up at customs. They were easy to communicate with but have since stopped responding to my emails.
@@cryptobigboss I got an email recently saying mine had shipped. They said back in June that their next batch was waiting for electronics from overseas, from what I recall.
Bougt the V2.2 and this is a better instal video that there original video thx
then gotta test it going thru the base cause that’s the most common config.
All the best
Do you know if there is sumthing like that for a thrustmaster on a ps5?
but how does it feel compare to high end pedals? i understand its might not 100% competiable to fanatec or HPP pedals, but given most complains are about the brakes on logitech pendal, while now with truebrake mod, does it make the 5x or 10x high end pedals justifiable?
This, or the Ricmotech V3? I'm on PS4 playing AC, ACC, GT Sport, F1 2021.
This, and also get the green, blue and yellow spring. The red is the hardest spring which came with mine.
If you were limited to console which would be a better upgrade Ricmotech or Truebrake? I would invest in CSL Elite pedals but to make it compatible with a G920 it would cost like $100-$200 more.
Always great reviews that allow a person to make a good assessment of a product. I think I’ll get one of these as a back up to my Ricmotech.
hello there!! Thanks
easy to replace the firsmware curve as well dude
I'm using a G27 with PS3 to PS4 adapter. Would this mod still work ? Also which Main Spring Rating option is recommended?
how do we improve the thrtootle is it the same szensor?
If Barry was my neighbour, I’d be asking him to read the kids bedtime stories every evening. Then to turn the lights off, lock up and not wake me.
just got it. easy to install for sure.
Anybody out there who could tell me how to do that with my g920?
does it work on playstation, I'm in Brazil, I really want this product!
Yes
You have always made the best and most detailed video hvem it comes to g29, do you have plans to review "logitech racing adaptor"?
You reviewed the hell out of that dude, great work. Safe to say I’ve just purchased one of these myself.
I want to get one of these but my G27 pedals are old and the potentiometers sometimes act up, despite cleaning them. They are fine at the moment but if I buy a TrueBrake kit I just know my throttle will start spiking again :(
Sold my sprint and got this for my old pedal with Leo bodnar cable. Waiting on iracing to update so I can test it. 🙂
If they ever remake Knight Rider, could they hire you for the voice, please?
Best sim racing channel online. Thanks again Barry
Too expensive for a casual racer.
Also i wish it had more travel, like 2x the travel.
Every time I get the review I'm looking for HERE. Thank you!
appreciate the video and the effort...as well as the appreciation of good machine work
