They definitely work, I got them on mine. I used both and it works perfectly using the instruction installation guide . I can take my foot and pick it up and the spring brings it right up to my hands.
Joe I had a trailer like that and always thought there needed to be something like that for the gate and even ramps on a heavy trailer. Just a thought, by only using one, will it wear out the spring faster than it should? Think changing just one spring on the old style garage doors. Ever had a spring break on the old style garage doors, not knowing any better, I only changed the one spring that broke. Big mistake. Thankfully when it went flying off I did not get hit or it did not hit truck or bust out windows in garage door. That will be a huge back saver. ❤️.
Life is all an experiment! Not sure if it will wear out the spring over time, but I really don't think so. They are literally like garage door springs! I think it is a double success like this though! Thanks
That was my thought as well. This method turns 1 kit into 2 kits, which cuts the cost in half. BUT they will need to be replaced twice as often, which will bring the price up. Plus it will double the labor time as well, and time is money. Also, you're not suppose to lubricate the rollers since they're self-lubricating, and they should be replaced when worn. It's a neat idea and I appreciate them sharing it, even if it's not something I'd do. I'm sure it's already helped people who were on a really tight budget at the time. Creativity makes life fun too!
I have arthritis in my shoulders and I put those on my trailer 5 years ago. made a big difference in lifting that 4 ft gate. only thing I had to do was change the spring setting.
Great video…. I installed mine and decided to use only one! Game changer in my book! Great video too thanks from Pennsylvania
Ha Mr Kapper and family. Greetings from Jamaica 🇯🇲🇯🇲. Wow another interesting video 😊
Hi Lloyd 👋
Long time, no see! Hope all is well down South!! Cheers!

Great to hear! I have no doubt at all that 2 of them would be cherry!! But hey, I'll take the one finger mod for now! :) Thanks
4 inches can make a world of difference! 😉

Looks like a decent lift assist accessory for the tailgate!

Good deal, these may be a back saver some day! Thanks
You can add a small turn buckle to the eye end to add length back to it. That would stop it from over closing.
Good idea for sure.
Good piece of kit That make life easier on the back 💪👍
Yes indeed!
Can this be used on a wood sided trailer
I don't see why not as long as it has a stout enough frame, like 2x4's.
what happens if I want to lay my gate inside down flat?
You wouldn't be able to. You'd have to disconnect the bolt from the gate
I need to figure out how to modify this to take the lid off and on my hot tub!
😆
@@CedarBluffRustics Sharon, you seem to understand what I’m saying by your response 😉
Love that idea! Heck, instead of giving it to Phil I could have done that too!!
Tim they make a lift to take off a hot tub cover. It was a huge time and back saver.
good video, great job guys
Thanks, I use that trailer a lot and it makes a big difference.
Comes with two. Putting on two
Those are some loud springs
Yep they are, but worth it though!
lol!!!! Good friend. I would of charged Phil at least $250. S&H has to be accounted for:)
lol good call!!
oh wait... AND a fuel surcharge!! :0
Another bolt for a stop will save you from breaking your new taillight!
LOL good idea!!
Gonna charge Phil 😂🤣$200🤣😂
lol since the inflation numbers just came out today at 11.2% I think I'll have to make it 220! :)
Cutting Oil people, cutting oil, your drill bits will thank you for it.
yep probably a good call! I don't drill that often so it skipped my mind! Thanks
Come on Kapper, Phill's your buddy, give him a deal for $175.00
OK man.. You talked me into it! I'll give him the 'good buddy' discount of $175 for the single rail!! :0
Vous les deux ou juste un
Old Phil should charge you a couple hundred for installation (each side) then he could buy his own, capitalism at its best 😉 😄😆🤣
lol probably could!! :)
