Hi, thanks for the guide :) I just managed to get some intruments. But I'm a bit confused. You replied to someone who asked if she wanted to get vocals only, that she should check vocals only and uncheck instrument only. But if that's the case, why did you list the 'Kim Vocal 1' in the model recommendation? should I check that one if I want to get vocals only? Sorry if you're having trouble understanding. English is not my native language.
no. most of the models allow separation of vocals and instrumental, and ticking the boxes simply means you don't download both. Some of the models separate the tracks into bass, vocals, and other sections. So you DON'T have to download lots of models. I've used kuielab vocals mostly (to get instrumentals) but hasn't worked well on maybe 1 in 50 tracks.
Agree with Nate, this is by far the best vocal extraction software. I have a project re-arranging my old bands tracks (the original multitracks are lost) and I've tried the the competition with sub par results, thought I'd have to ditch this project. First try with this and the results are damn near perfect ( a tiny bit of clean up needed but not much) It even kept nice clear reverb on the vocal and delays are preserved! This is light years ahead of the rest. Question: I tried this out of the box with no additional downloads and it sounded great - are the other downloadable modules better? (I'm only using it to extract the vocal)
I forgot to click on and use one of the models. It was called MDX-Net: Kim Vocal 1. You can find all the settings I used in the description of this video.
One of the best music separation apps I’ve ever seen! I used the music from the Sky Glass advert to split it into an instrumental and vocal, but I noticed on one of the models, that the instrumental also included the backing vocals, so I used a karaoke model to split that into a voice-less instrumental and just the backing vocals, so I can put them into Logic Pro and make a short remix of the music from the Sky Glass advert.
Tried this with an RTX 3070 Mobile with 8GB VRAM. At the second AI model, it tells you it's running out of memory, and on the GitHub it literally says 8GB is recommended..
I downloaded this myself and love it. Is there a guide on what each model does? I'm trying to look for one that extracts harmonies only, but I'm not sure which model that could be.
For extracting harmonies (Not that good quality) - i use VR Architecture then Karaoke 4 UVR (Not sure what exactly the name is) then extract it as WAV file, after that ur gonna hear the karaoke with harmonies then import it again on UVR and extract vocals only. Hoping someone manage do it in 1 process only.
Edit2: AMD is now supported in the version 5.6!! Go remove some vocals \m/ Hello there! Really nice tutorial, was able to download it and replicate the whole processus with only 1 thing that doesnt seem to work on my pc: I can't click the GPU option, it's greyed out. AMD Radeon GPUs are not supported yet by the software, hence why the GPU box was always greyed out. Hopefully they'll add this in a future update!
Some results come close to the original studio masters (Michael Jackson - Thriller), in some you just realize the original mix was already sub par (ABBA - Dancing Queen).
This is a great find. But I am having trouble using the GPU conversion. It wont let me. It says to check my GPU version? Is there a setup i am missing?
Yeah! :-) GPU conversion requires a modern dedicated graphics card. Either Nvidia Geforce or AMD Radeon cards. If you uncheck GPU conversion it will work the same. However, the processing time will be greater than GPU rendering. Depending on your CPU age and core count it could take a while.
Great tutorial and your musical taste is amazing. Didn't expect you to pick 'The Baseball Boys' haha. Tried a lot of ai vocal splitter/remover and this is probably the best.
This is a really fantastic tool. Unfortunately my GPU is not supported so processing a 30 sec sample takes 17 min! However if I even just use one profile (MDX-NET UVR-MDX-NET Inst 3), it doesn't sound bad at all, and it takes about the length of the track. I think it's impossible to get pristine stems, but for most learning/transcription/remixing purposes this will do just fine!
Well I'm modifying its source code to work on any device with internet access like a mobile phone without the need of a GPU just an internet Browser. if you wanna try it I will post it here when its ready, however I tried it with Ensemble on 4 big models and 2 min song it took around 9 minutes to complete.
@@Giga1Muslim Oh yeah, post it when it's ready! There's a few web services which do it pretty quick (Moises), but so far UVR5 seems to get the best results.
Overall it seems impressive. It doesn't seem to muddy the tone. However, there is a rather noticeable static buzz in there. It's good, but it isn't perfect. Maybe the artifacts can be resolved by something in the setting somewhere?
So I have a podcast, can we split the voices too? There are two person talking, I wanna remove one person. Do some voice modulation and add it again to the podcast.
This software wouldn't be able to pickup on two separate voices and split their voices into two separate files. Their voices would be in one file on output so it's not possible yet. Maybe in the future! :-)
Nate, is there a best setting to leave background vocals intact? For instance the start of Uptown Girl from Billy Joel starts with backing vocals and every vocal remover I've tried takes them out. I want them left alone and just Billy's voice removed. Any help would be appreciated!
Wow! I used this with only like one model or something or two and it muddled up the result a bit, I wonder if using the 5 plus models you used will do better on the recordings I processed :D
