So my studio has undertaken a massive transformation since we moved in, and i’ve been tinkering away at it and have a list of to-do’s to get it to how I want it. It’s getting really close now, I can’t wait to share a tour and maybe even some progress videos on the last few projects I want to do! 🌼
The spoon collection is pretty cool as is, but if you decide you want to use it for something else I saw another comment that mentioned using it to store dried flowers and I think that would be really pretty. If you did that, you could repurpose the spoons as bookmarks by hammering down the spoon part to flatten it. You could even tie on ribbons or string with beads and stuff to make it extra cute. Would love to see what you do with them if you decide to change it out!
Two things I could see doing with the spoon cabinet after removing the spoons. If you have some favorite wood mounted rubber stamps, you could use use the horizontal wooden dividers as shelves to display them and keep them handy on the wall. You could also probably fit the stems of dried flowers into the slots that held the spoons to make it a lovely "garden" display of pretty flowers.
these help me to know what I might look for when I'm out...it's amazing how my perspective has changed in the past two years...things I may have passed over before, now I see the potential...it's definitely a learning process...I like these kind of videos...it might make a great series to do a video every so often with before (when first purchased) to after (look what it turned into!) kind of series...just a suggestion. thanks for sharing.
The spoons could be fun larger charms on your journals, if you collect old keys they might fit in the slots or add tiny pegs and make it into a thread and bobbin cabinet
I love your thrift hauls! The spoon cabinet is so gorgeous! My great grandma had a collection of these and I always loved them! Maybe you could hang it up and enjoy as is for a while then organically it will change and grow.. . I’d love to see vintage wallpaper on the back wall & if I were to take the spoons out {which to be honest I probably wouldn’t} I would put my watercolor brushes & dried flowers in there Thanks for a lovely video! 😍✨
I enjoyed this video! I’ve been visiting a lot of thrift stores lately and it’s always neat to find unexpected items for crafting. The spoon cabinet is really neat. Maybe it could be repurposed for a botanical/apothecary display for hanging small bundles of dried herbs and/or flowers? Or maybe a way to organize and display trim?
The spoons are very cute, can be used as journal enclosure accent/lock charm for vintage recipe book or gourmet journals. 🤗 -Dave, Male Journaler from the Philippines 💙
Such a cute idea! I think the cabinet could be used to display postcards and envelopes. I would add string running horizontally 3-4cm above each shelf to hold them in place💫
9:35 you were asking what to do with the antique spoons collection box, so i thought to hang it on the wall or keep it like a antique show piece , because I think these are kinda unique or rare collection. So that was my opinion, I don't know what you think about it☺
Loved the floral fabric. The perfect piece for some slow stitching, but if you’ve got enough think about making yourself a simple top you could wear. I agree with whoever suggested a craft room tour! It’s been a while and we (followers) know you’ve upgraded your space and would love to see what your new studio looks like. As far as the teaspoon cabinet goes, you could cover the inside with wallpaper and use it to store sewing threads if the shelves are wide enough.
Thank you so much Johanna, I really really enjoyed watching you show us all those gorgeous things that you got from the thrift stores. I really really love ❤️ thrift stores (we call them Charity shops) And I really really love ❤️ everything you’ve brought. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Wow, amazing finds. Love the shelf, the added drawer pull is beautiful. Lovely stationary 😍 ...fabrics too. Everything looks awesome. That spoon display is a fantastic find. I could see strings of beads hanging in there 😃 It would be cool to use the spoons as charms or imbed them into a book cover 😉 Thanks for sharing. Take care 💖 🙂
My family had that music book when I was growing up, what a lovely blast from the past! With the spoon cabinet, if you decide not to keep the spoons in it, do you have many stamps on wooden blocks? It looks like they might fit and you could put something to cover the slits on the front of the “shelves”??
I love these kinds of videos. It helps me to keep on the lookout for such things. And I adore the spoon cabinet. I'm not a collector of spoons but there is something kind of whimsical about a cabinet full of spoons! Thank you!
My mum used to collect spoons and I remember being a kid on holidays and helping her pick one for the cabinet lol I wonder if you can still buy spoons as souvenirs 🤔
I think you should leave the spoon cabinte as it is. It looks like a unique piece and it would add lots of character to your studio. Thanks for sharing.
The spoon cabinet looks so amazing! I remember that my grandma also collected spoons. If I was you, I would just keep it as is and hang it on the wall or something like that.
This was absolutely amazing. Loved everything. Can’t wait to see that songbook cover repurposed. Sell it to me after!🤩 Spoon cabinet idea: Each of the spoons could be sold in a coordinating art journaling kit! Or used as a charm hanging from the spine of one of your amazing journals. The cabinet itself..Have you given much thought to dioramas? Something tells me that with your design aesthetic you’d be very good at those. Maybe you’d be willing to make just one?😍
I love these kinds of videos. I'm so glad you shared your finds with us. I love finding old stationary. The spoon cabinet is very cool as is, but if you decide to use it to store something I thought washi tape, thread, or a rubber stamp collection would work. Some of those spoons in the cabinet are definitely silver as they are tarnished. Thanks for the show and tell. Love it!
If you are interested, the little girls on your round box are actually early/mid Georgian, before the Victorian era. The spoons could make interesting closures and features on the cover of journals
Hi Johanna, here by way of JD's channel. Good finds. Spoon cabinet is perfect for displaying wood stamps or even small colorful bottles or jars of paint, ink, stickles, drops, etc.
Love the idea of sharing your treasures in Thift stores. I personally would leave the cabinet with the spoons as decoration in your studio as the collection is so pretty
Everything is beautiful Johanna, love your thrift haul videos. Yes please do share more. My Mum did folk art in later years and I have her notebook of instructions and practise samples. The music book was a great find. I have a few Reader’s Digest sheet music compilations and they usually cost around $10 or more at second hand book fairs ❤️
I collect souvenir spoons- my jaw DROPPED. That’s probably more than I have in my collection, and wow what a nice cabinet! I’ve been looking for a cabinet like that for so long! You’ve found so many gems 😍😍
Hi! I've been a silent fan of yours. I am truly amazed how you put up your ideas.in your junk journals. Your vids are my happy pill during the duration of my pregnancy. Until now that I have had given birth to a bb boy. I've been wanting to have those kinds of special papers, decors, washis, envelopes, art materials you use for your journal, they are exceptional and very vibrant..but pandemic hits my family really hard that's why I don't have budget for those. Anyways, have a good day.! Kudos..!
I would love to have a craft room tour. I do scrapbooking, but since we moved to another house, everything is in a disarray. I’m more of a junk journal wannabe. I enjoy seeing your hauls as it gives me ideas on what to look for and perhaps purchase. Thank you!
Great finds! These videos are fun to watch as it’s cool to see what people buy and what your thoughts are on how to use the items. Someone suggested that you do a follow up video on using the items (especially repurposing that music book!) love that idea! For the spoon display cabinet, you could wedge/glue wooden dowels in the slats and then you can slide Washi tape over them or spools of ribbon, etc. A couple of my Aunts used to collect spoons....good memories 🥰 TYFS ❤️🦋💜
can't believe you found that shelf! It's in amazing condition, such a great find!! I am obsessed with the colour and the colours of the flowers!! It's super beautiful!!! I always love looking for stationery in thrift shops
Some of those spoons look like they're genuine silver, as they're tarnished. And, from a pianist standpoint, those Readers Digest music books are also a find.
I found a spoon shelf like yours but without the doors, at a thrift store and I display my collection of vintage hankies in it, I slide a hanky in each of the slots where a spoon would go. If your wooden slots is wide enough, maybe use it like a shelf and display paints on it or display your favorite paper ephemera you have made.
Omg! The little shelf is so cute. The music book is pretty awesome. Yes the spoon cabinet is the best score ever. It could be used as a shadow box. You could have all your small treasures in it. Small toys, etc.. The spoons themselves are also such a treasure. You could save them and use them to decorate a Christmas tree in your craft room. Turn those into ornaments with pretty ribbon tie and hang them up.
Hi Johanna! I was just thinking of ways to repurppose the spoons, what if you did like a spoon mobile or wind chime to hang up in the studio? Just a thought!
I have a really wonderful items you found. I would love to see what you find at the thrift stores. I would love to see what you repurpose things for. You have such a pretty delicate taste thank you for sharing. Have you shown your new Craft Space yet I think you moved? I would love to see how you decorate it.
The spoon cabinet could be used to stand items on the shelves - the playing cards you bought, other ephemera bundled together, some favourite pens laying on the shelf. . . or hang charms for your journals on the spoon holder slots. A great video. Thanks for sharing 💕
OMG. I loved the spoons. My grandma collects spoons and I think I caught that bug cause I will always snag a cool looking spoon when I am out. Not really souvineers ones, but ones with stars or designs in them.
Excellent finds! That spoon cabinet is amazing. It would be cute repurposed but only if it made good sense for products to be used. I have NO IDEA what to use it for! I think for now just hang it as is in your craft room and see if a bright idea comes to you or if it just is to stay what it is, either way it and the spoons are so super sweet!
Hello, I love everything you got, the cabinet is lovely as it is but if you want to do something else with it you could use it for own treasures or make a new collection of mini journals and display them in there till they are sold. 🌺😘😘
Great haul. I'm soooo jelous of your finds haha.... lucky you. Love the pretty floral shelf in particular + the big piece of floral fabric. Juni Desiree sent me btw ;-) xx Oh and wrt the little spoon cabinet, I would either sell or give away the spoons and use the shelves for little craft supplies...
I really enjoy watching your Thrift Store Hauls!! I Love thrifting 😍 I'm attempting to undergo a "Dining room light rehab" loll I collect Skeleton Keys🗝 that I have found or been given from other people from all walks of life throughout my life. When people hear that I collect these Keys they end up giving me one 💜🗝 Each key is attached to a memory. I am seeking an antique iron (maybe) chandelier/light so I can hang my Skeleton Keys from with some crystals or beads but I not in a tacky kind of way lol ?? If I could just execute the vision in my mind I would be golden lol but being as though I have struggled I would be grateful for any suggestions and ideas you may have (or any of these friendly folks I see in here) Oh! The reason Im even mentioning this is because you're a fellow thrifter, you're creative and crazy talented. I noticed some Skeleton Keys🗝 in a couple of your videos now and thought I would take a chance and send this question out to you and see what happens 🤗 Keep your Thrift Store Hauls coming!!!! Can't wait to see what you have found recently. 📝📖📒
I'm new to your channel, I quite enjoyed this thrift haul. I think you should just hang up the spoon cabinet, it's cool. I wish I had room for a craft room, my kids will never leave home!
Dear Johanna, if you ever decide to sell this vinyl green floral, I will be more than happy to buy it from you (I'm obsessed with green)! What great finds!
The prices at the thrift store in your area are reasonable. I've read reviews from the thrift stores in my area and people stated the prices were too high. I haven't been to the thrift store in my area as of yet.
The spoon cabinet is an absolute find, especially for that price. I would take out the spoons and use the shelving part for something if it warrants it. I would use it to store my collection of crystals (some of them at least).

Also, leaving cabinet as is would be lovely. It's all vintage and beautiful to display.
The first thing I thought of for the spoon cabinet was a place to display all types of handmade tassles. Love this type of video. TYVM.

love those stuff, that spoon cabinet you've got is one of a kind, I hardly find those collections on thrift stores..
Great finds! You could store paint tubes in the spoon slots.

Great haul video! My Grandma collected travel Souvenir Spoons...it was fun to have those memories flood back!
OMG. I loved the spoons. My grandma collects spoons and I think I caught that bug cause I will always snag a cool looking spoon when I am out. Not really souvineers ones, but ones with stars or designs in them.
The first thing that comes to mind for the spoon cabinet is storage for embroidery floss. They would look lovely all hung up in a colour graduation.
Those spoons would look good as tassle bling on your journals
What beautiful finds! 😍
You could make tassels and display them in the cabinet to put in journals in the future. Blessings!

Love watching op shop haul videos! Makes me want to go shopping for my own supplies 😁 thanks for sharing!
The spoon cabinet is an absolute find, especially for that price. I would take out the spoons and use the shelving part for something if it warrants it. I would use it to store my collection of crystals (some of them at least).
What a sweet video. I would use the cabinet for dried flowers.
Love this “shop & share” video!!!❤️👍
I would use your spoon cabinet to either store large wooden stamps inside OR hang it up 'as isx if you dont stamp. Love it either way
I love the spoons just as they are.
If you crochet you could use the spoon cabinet to hold crochet hooks. That's what I would do! Or spools of thread!
Spoon Cabinet is LOVELY....and maybe some of those spoons are collectibles, so you might make craft supply money if you sell them :)
So many lovely goodies!!! TFS 😍🥰
I really enjoy your videos! Thanks for all the inspiration ❤
😍😍😍 such a beautiful finds as always
Cool op shop haul. I love that spoon cabinet just as it is xox
Oh, my goodness. I remember that music family album. What a blast from the past :)
Check out the amazing Mr Finch and his exquisite animal creations.
He repurposed the decorative part of the spoon and used them as badges on the badger’s jackets.
Sounds obscure, I know. But take a look at his work and you’ll understand 💕
Would your paint or drops fit in the antique cabinet? It's so cute.
I think the spoons would be perfect to use on a cooking book them cover 😍
Well ur the one that i veen looking for years a retro diy vlogssssss so happy
