      IT'S A GOOF!!! The handle he pulled is the speed brake i.e. flight control spoilers. This is automatically activated when the aircraft touches down and he would not have needed to pull on it, AT ALL! The handle would have been all the way back as soon as the plane touches down.
      By the way, spoilers are NOT wheel brakes and will NOT cause the plane to veer off the runway. And no, that's not a parking brake (different handle).
      A better action would be to pull out all the engine fire handles to brick the plane.

    • @JustRememberWhoYoureWorkingFor
      @JustRememberWhoYoureWorkingFor 3 года назад +2

      @@yatsumleung8618 well I'm not a pilot but the fire extinguisher handles in the 747 are on the overhead panel right? If the pilot had tried to reach them he would have been shot possibly before he could have pulled them. Maybe a belly landing could have been an option: the plane would have been damaged and people inside would have got hurt but there would have been no way the terrorists could have put the plane in the air again.

    For those just curious Aor Force One is a boeing 747-200 otherwise called a "classic" built in 1990 it has steam gauges older avionics and still does require at least 3 people to fly Pilot, Co pilot, and Engineer and has a Tail number 27000 there are two of these Air Force Ones the other one has Tail Number 28000 very rare sight to see a 747-200 classic 747-100s are no longer in the air! The oldest 747s flying are the 747-200s, SPs, 400s, and the new 747-8 and -8i which the 747 is discontinued this year being the last year for the 747 production as a whole

    one of the best action scenes of any film

  • @KelseyRBX
    @KelseyRBX 3 года назад +3

    Alright, first off..
    At 4:44 when the Captain commands to use "Flaps 30" that close to the runway, it's not bad but I wouldn't recommend it..
    At 5:12 when Gary Oldman (Russian Hijacker) explodes the cockpit door and the wheels touch down on the runway, as soon as Gary opened the door the pilots should've pulled out all the engine fire handles or pulled gear up.
    5:44 Lastly, when the Captain is shot and First Officer is just about shot, he shouldn't have pulled that lever, this is the flight control spoilers or speed brakes, this automatically activates when the plane touches down on the runway.
    Also, when the First Officer is shot and slumps over in his seat, the aircraft veers off the runway, this is also not accurate, the aircraft will not do this. It will continue rolling down the runway!
    EDIT : Also, what I forgot to mention, when the aircraft speeds towards the Air Traffic Controllers Tower, the plane wing will not cut the hedges as it shows at 6:21

    • @dars5229
      @dars5229 2 года назад +1

      I would also imagine that in real life the cockpit door is built to withstand an explosion (at least I hope to God.) I've heard they're tough enough to withstand a grenade, though these guys are clearly using plastic explosive. Fuck knows how they got that on board.
      Also, hello to the FBI reading these comments! I promise we just think this is a really cool movie.

    Totally ridiculous and unrealistic scene in Air Force One Movie. Dozens of automatic gun fire rounds are shot in a pressurized aircraft moving at 600 mile per hour and no window or hull is breached. If we are to assume Air Force One was bulletproof, you have to consider that Air Force One was Bullet Proof in almost section of the aircraft since shooting took place in almost every section of the aircraft. Making an aircraft bullet proof to that degree would most cetainly make the plane unflyable.
