One thing that has yet to be clarified is the warranty situation. As Endor AG will cease to exist after this then theoretically so do all the warranty obligations cease to exist. However I'm sure that Corsair, based on previous takeovers, will continue to honor the warranties, but a statement to the effect of would serve to put a lot of worried minds at rest.
ultimately depends on what Corsair will do with the company. Problem is that fanatec went belly up for a reason, so what would it cost to honor warranties and deliveries of goods thats paid for but not delivered, and how would creditors feel about that, fanatec under the old ownerships owes them money? this sort of thing is super complicated and is much more then just fanatec. If creditors feels that Corsair shafts them, then corsair will have harder time borrowing money. so its not black and white
When a new owner takes over the operational duties, that usually means they also take over the warranty responsibilities. I sure hope so (although I have moved away from Fanatec for my main gear).
They bought the entire company which includes assets and liabilities, unless the warranty had some kind of get out clause in it, they are still liable regardless of who owns the company. I don't know if Germany has any other kind of rules.
As someone new to Fanatec even after finding out about the bankruptcy I still bought their CS+ Extreme solely after doing weeks of research on wheelbases and finally concluding for my needs that a Fanatec base with console support and PC support was my the ultimate setup for me and my goals. I'm happy with my decision and got very good service from them via email with many questions asked along the way and very fast delivery. I first bought a CS+ then returned it for the Extreme within a timely manner for the better value of the extreme's steering wheel. This decision was made solely after looking at buying an entry level wheel and plus the QR2, it just made sense to go with the far superior GT wheel. (or F1 based on buyers needs.. for me I needed/wanted a round wheel for my desired needs)
What I hope for is that Corsair will introduce a retailer network by using the same stores they do for selling their products - that would be a huge deal in regards to customer service; no more hassle with international shipping when buying/RMA'ing products. Additionally, I do hope that they will honor the exisiting warranties as to not leave the existing customers out to dry.
The weirdest part is that a lot of their packaging for the boxes have retailer aspects, such as having plastic handles to carry the boxes. So I feel like switching over to retail sales and in store purchases wouldn’t even be a big jump for them and it would totally increase their sales and grow their fanbase.
Well thought out analysis with logical conclusions. It all makes sense from a commercial standpoint as you have described. The brand needs to focus on basics to rebuild its reputation… quality, innovation, service, delivery and communication. Cleaning up the product line to focus on brand purpose. The warranty issue is being raised by lots of customers and needs to be addressed. My understanding is that the EU and Germany in particular are very strict with ensuring that warranty liabilities follow the business regardless of acquisition type. But in any case, as part of the reputation restoration process, they will have to honor the brand’s warranty commitments. Congratulations on your site. I just subscribed to it.
maybe we'll start seeing fanatec stuff finally on retail. Also i have not sympathy for shareholders they, always fuel the greed of the companies and corsair is no better, thats why I respect gaben and valve

Great explanation!!! And one of the best we‘ve heard from content creators. We know about what you’re talking about. Our advisory company is working in restructuring, we are only a department of db3 solutions.
I took the bite and ordered myself a Formula V2.5. I was looking for one so I can have at least 2 rim (or for rally and other for formula/GT). I was certain that Fanatec would be still around anyways, and I would not have the opportunity to buy later, as I'm searching to buy a home. I glad that this issue has (at least for now) been solved.
Cautiously excited. I've highly considered selling my Fanatec gear while its still pretty new and not very used(it also all functions perfectly) but I'll hold on for a while longer to see how this goes. I got both Corsair and Elgato products and I love them. Glad the gato is ok! Meow- Cheers from cá em baixo!
I had a Fanatec CSW 2.5 wheel for years. Great wheel. Went to buy a DD1 during black Friday. By February still had not received it. Cancelled my order and went to Simagic and have not looked back. I'm sure, There are many others like me.
I'm a cat lover, so glad to hear your kitty is doing well. As for Fanatec, I'm a Fanatec user / fan and hope Corsair revives the company and brings them back to the forefront in Simracing!
I'm not sure you can use the acquisition of Elgato as such a direct comparison. Elgato was not in so much debt when they were purchased. I suspect Corsair will streamline Fanatec considerably, I would not be surprised if we see the number of products cut in half. There'll probably be a lot less wheels, to choose from for sure, maybe less bases and pedals too, but it depends on what they think will keep selling best.
The stock fulfillment issue was a one off systems issue that was exacerbated by internet trolls and so called ‘influencers’. People cried and moaned about missing out on limited black Friday sale and fanatec made it right by shipping the product WELL after the holidays instead of just cancelling all the errant orders. They handled it better than 99% of other companies who miss-price things or advertise stock they don’t have. Everyone wants premium gear for Logitech prices and doesn’t want to wait for things to ship. Your misplaced expectations are the problem. There are THOUSANDS of customers who have never had a single issue with shipping or support , myself included.
I intentionally ignored all of Kireths Fanatec news videos because he's quite the cunny. Thanks for uploading this. Lets hear it for RandomCallsign, the channel for the common man. 👏
Personally I hope it will be a positive thing for us, the consumer, especially if the product becomes more available locally rather than more centred purchasing. The fees, deliveries etc especially for the UK market, it may help bring cost down as availability becomes more effective. And hopefully better customer support and service. And I'm glad your cat is doing ok.
Thanks for the video! 👏🏼 Six months ago I bought a CSL Elite V2 and a McLaren steering wheel and two weeks ago I confidently bought a ClubSport DD+, so €1600 of material under warranty. Do you have any information about the active warranties and customer service regarding the Fanatec products in our hands today? 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
The way customer support workes and communicates, has changed in the last half year. I had really bad experiences in the past with that, but have seen a turn in way of communication, the frequency of updates and in general in the way an issues was handled. More customer focussed. Let's hope they can continue with that under the Corsair ownership. Shipping issues needs a solution for sure. This might be a financial problem (with production and stock) that is not visible for the consumers. It might also be related to the third party(s) that handle the warehousing and shipping. The product portfolio really needs an update to get back into a pole position spot (they are midfield now, in my opinion). With the right management, this whole saga could be over in half a year. The reputation damage will last longer, so they also need a good sales strategy to compensate for that.
I feel sorry for fanatec but as you said with corsair take over someone like me finally can buy those wheels and pedals in my country. I'm from iran and because of sanctions and... there was no chance for us to find those products here.
Good news, Maybe I might be able to finally buy a Fanatec wheel here in New Zealand. Fanatec for some reason refused to sell to anyone in New Zealand and probably the same in other countries too, no wonder they went bankrupt. At least Corsair sells world wide.
I thought about discussing what I think of Fanatec ahead of this acquisition... I am just going to say that Corsair may be just what Fanatec needed. They should get away from the online only model, and seriously step up QA /QC and customer service. They also need to fix the shortcomings with their current gear... And really flesh out the wheel hub products. That would be a killer angle that they can take to inject a huge dose of desire ability into the lineup. Develop a CSL hub w/o attached buttons and use mini USB connections for add-ons for it. Get away from wiring in ribbon cables and pin connections on hubs. That stuff should be plug and play. Let the price, material and number of connections be what differenciates a CSL Hub from a Clubsport Hub, from a Podium Hub. AND LOWER THE PRICE OF THE QUICK RELEASES!!! $100 for something that should be $60 at most is scummy! I wish them well, and I hope Corsair ownship will right the sinking ship.
Hope they get an rma system up running fast, just because the company gone for now, ppls products will still need repairs and Im curious how much rma backlog there is with all this going on.
I just hope Corsair has better luck running the company, and continue providing updates into the future. Last thing I want is my Fanatec gear to no longer work with new games or Windows updates
Really hope Fanatec products (whether they remain under that brand name or not) start getting sold through Amazon, so I can finally buy one without paying twice the cost of the product in shipping
my best wish is they'll start shipping direct to my country. and i won't need of using third party shipping company which the double the price of the product alone
I’m sure they have never been high up there in revenue and sales. G29 and t300 still make up over half of all sales if I remember correctly. Would make sense given everyone I have ever known starts with one.
I'm hoping they expand to nz, my plug adaptor died and I had to made stupid money to get one from America sent out as Fanatec doesn't service the NZ market.
As a Fanatec user I am relieved. Hopefully Fanatec will respond to my email about firmware issues after several months of sending emails with no response. Also excited to see some competition for MOZA who seemingly come out with a new product every few months. Lets see what Corsair can do and if it will be good for all us customers.
IDK your issue of course but I had a hell of a struggle last week trying to do a firmware update on my DD Pro. If Fanatec ideology will be changed from "Elite High End Racing Gear" to the what Corsair usually does, most likely, direct drive bases will now be dominant in any price category
