You know the VPD is watching this... I'm in Vancouver too. The VIs are the reason I sold a bunch of my cars. My cars are basically stock in appearance but it's really hard to make big horsepower quiet. I have a dozen cars at the moment, the ones I mod I now do it to comply with the motor vehicle handbook. It's a pain. I'd argue not all shops are out to get you. You bring your car into our shop and we are working for you, but the car has to be safe. If hit with an inspection, I'll work with the customer to let you get it into compliance before it's checked. At our shop at least, we are enthusiasts, if it's safe and follows the written guidelines it's fine. I've seen too much of this, that's why I don't give the police any excuse to pull me over. Everything is a sleeper.
The VPD have been following me closely for a while now. It was my comments that stopped the unlawful sound testing on the roadside on twitter. My car is all within spec. My air suspension was actually up all the way. The guy was just grasping at straws. Doesn't matter anyway because they would pull over stock cars and give them tickets. I just need to find a dealership that will give me a inspection with air ride suspension installed. Because air ride itself isn't illegal. It's all dot
@@stressed_garage I used to work at a dealer in Vancouver, right by the VPD so they were often in the shop. For lowering, the police would argue once the geometry is changed it's no longer stock and things aren't designed to work at those angles. So, anything not stock is a fail. What they mean is... take a ball joint or tie rod ends, they aren't designed to function at certain angles or ends of their limits. Lowering without moving rack height can cause added bump steer which would be a fail. You get it? When I questioned this they always flat out said they aren't engineers or experts, but they can hand out inspections. So with that interpretation, the adjustable air ride will probably never be able to pass an inspection. For the tie rod part and possible bump steer part, not sure if yours is affected but if it is, maybe you can have the rack move with the height? Sounds like a lot of work. You get it? The situation really sucks, not like there aren't better things they could be doing. lol
I actually removed the subframe spacers so I had the same geometry as an Impreza. Having it at Impreza height for driving. The cop was just stupid. A lot of them barely passed high school 🤣
Hey brother this sucks to see, glad to see you were respectful to the officer even though he was absolutely out of line and profiled you for driving a modified car even though you explicitly explained it's within the MVA and has been inspected. I got a box 2 on the Camaro on my channel which is nearly stock. Couldn't believe it. If we keep fighting this they have to realize they are entirely unqualified to be doing roadside mechanical inspections and handing VI's out like candy!

@@stressed_garage got any cheap ways I could build my 02 forester I already got a cold air intake I’m just wanting to add some power for the car and it’s NA and also it’s a automatic
@@masterjgames7319 there's not much you can do with the na to get reliable power out of it. Anything you do to it will be pushing its capabilities. A lot of people will do a engine swap to a turbo engine and that's probably your best bet to save up and do that instead of trying anything with the stock engine
@@stressed_garage I wanna do that but at the same time I’m just wanting to enjoy the stock engine putting power in at two hundred and sixty something thousand miles on my car bc I don’t have long until my engine goes out I looked up the longest a 02 has lasted was 300,000 miles
i love how these officers pretend they know what they're talking about.
"we both know what were talking about"
Yeah, okay guy...

Pretty sad that police had that power over you, you decided to sell all your cars. So glad I don’t live in that shithole.
