- The Candyman staff picked their favorite gear for the 2015 Holiday Gift Guide. Max picked his favorite powered speaker, the Yamaha DXR12.
The DXR12 is an extremely high power loudspeaker that is capable of producing a maximum SPL of 132dB with its impressive 1100W of power. It is the perfect solution for live sound applications that demand wide bandwidth and extremely high resolution sound.

@@petarcholakov9352 The DBR15 is 1000w and the DXR15II is 1100w so the output capacity will be slightly higher. The input grid has more flexibility on the DXRII (3 inputs vs 2) and the cabinet structure feels a little more durable on the DXRII as well. Overall they are both excellent cabinets but the DXRII is slightly more punchy and has a bit clearer sound. Is it worth the price difference ($799 vs $475)? Not entirely in my opinion.
@@TheCandymanChannel I bought a dxr15 mk2 and I usually use my phone when I listen to music and apparently its -10db yet I'm seeing the limit light turing red. Is it safe to turn up the volume more after the light turns red or ?
@@petarcholakov9352 The red light means too much signal is getting through. Since your phone output is designed to power a 20mA headphone it can easily overdrive the input. I recommend turning the phone volume down to @ 30-40% and then use the speaker volume to get to the desired volume.
