Hey! Your geckos are amazingly cute❤. I have a question: I have a baby gecko (2 months) and he is eating his food during the day, but never all of his worms at the same time.I noticed she/ he usually eats one worm in the morning, and then all of the rest during the day. During evening he/ she doesn’t seem interested in food, but it’s however very active during evenings and nights and actually started to bond with me. He actually loved being handled and loves laying his belly on my hand. He’s been eating daily. Is it normal for geckos to eat during a whole day and not at a specific time? Should I make some changes like making a schedule? I think he was used to being left with his food all day.
Also I wanted to mention that even tho he eats during the day, he also rests a lot. He sleeps all day till sun goes down and I shut his lamp off. The he goes out like a frenzy and roams around his enclosure.
Mine did too when I first got her - need to work very slowly with them. The "how to tame your leopard gecko" video tips do work. Just need to go very very slow and don't rush it. After doing this with mine she seems to enjoy coming out and spending time out of her tank.
If it is a baby, then that happens. They have to get used to you and realize that you aren't gonna gobble them up. I started getting Sahyu used to me by putting my hand in her tank for a bit once she settled in. Better to get them used to it when they are little and their bites are just cute.
Same thing for one of my Leopard Geckos. If they are young: Then they're either stressed out, new to environment, scared, or overly dominant, or overly aggressive. If they are old: Then they're stressed, scared, or overly aggressive. Plus, be patient with your Gecko, it takes time to build a bond with him or her.
also i really need to get a front opening cage. but im poor... and for handling, i have let children "hold" my gecko. i always tell them "be as still as possible, he will tickle, so let me know". but i've only done it, like, twice
i have two loud dogs. Personally i found my prey animals (two rabbits and two geckos) after a few weeks of having them. They don’t even react to the dogs barks anymore or even loud noises. They used to hide whenever they barked and now they just sit there and continue whatever they are doing

My gecko loves me! Ever since I've been hand feeding him and helping him remove shedded skin, I think he trusts me a lot. He's always excited to get out of the tank so he always climbs my hand everytime I put it in there. I have had him for about a month now.
That's cool, I just got mine a few days ago but he is already a year old. I think the previous owners may not have handled him too much since they rehomed him due to lack of time. He's in good shape though, good weight, no stuck shed, no missing toes. They really loved the little dude and were happy to give him to me knowing I'd take good care of him, although I must say I can't match the enclosure size they had him in. It was a 4x3 ft tank! Like holy cow! I spent over 300 bucks on my setup but it's only a 20 gal. He'll move to a 55 eventually when my finances are better again but a 4x3 is insane! I've decked what I do have for him out as best I could. I mean in the end, he has what he needs. I'd just like to give him much more of course. In time. But yeah, I hope in a months time he'll be comfortable enough to be held just like yours, that would be amazing. I'm taking it super slow because I'm afraid to give him a negative experience. He's really giving me mixed signals. On one hand when I stick my hand in right in front of him, he doesn't mind, he'll even come up and lick it or sniff or calmly stroll by and curl his tail around my finger but if I try to stroke his side carefully with 1 finger he always squints and backs up like he's annoyed. So I only try that maybe once a day while he's active and out and seems to not be minding my hand being there but I don't want to push him. It's really odd though. On one hand I think he wants the attention and on the other he doesn't. Meh

Imagine what a better world this would be if people showed this must interest in others peace, happiness, and respect regarding care as well as personal space. Love Leopard Geckos.
My little dude and I have a "dinner noise" so he knows whether to expect bugs or attention when I open his enclosure. It's a huge help when I have a house sitter feed him, too. I figure geckos are good enough at recognizing your voice and scent that it's more practical to identify situations.
THANK YOU!! i’ve gotten a leopard gecko from a family member years ago and she wasn’t treated the best by them so she doesn’t like humans too much. BUT, she’s actually starting to warm up to me!!
My gecko *loves* my dogs. He's literally completely amazed by them, he follows them around in his enclosure so he can still watch my dog, Rosie chase her tail. The weirdest thing though is he has no reaction to her barking, she doesn't bark at him. But she has been in my room and has barked at the TV but he doesn't budge. He absolutely loves her lol idk why
I have absolutely RUINED my gecko with hand feeding. I feed him, and he just stands there looking at me like, "hey man, watcha doing? You gonna get me out again?" He gets handled every evening. And he LOVES when I rub his back.
My gecko Joy doesn't like it when I stroke under her chin so I stroke her back, but! For those people who have geckos like mine, if they start to arch their back when you touch the back, or they try to flatten down just pull your hand away, please
Lillian Lunt So I got a leo about a year ago I adopted her and she had the starting of mbd but I have been taking very good care of her, I was wondering why it’s not a good thing to pet them on their backs? She seems to enjoy it and she doesn’t like run away from it, but I was just wondering why you think it’s not the greatest idea? I get that they are all different just curious
To make a long story short I went from zero leopard geckos to FOUR over night and while I’ve done thorough research your videos have been a HUGE help! I already had a crested gecko so your videos for them have been great too. Just wanted to say thanks for making videos 😁
My leopard gecko just used to ignore me before. But I started hand feeding him, and now he comes out of his hide every time he hears my voice. Even if it's his nap time
i got one 3 days ago & suprisingly she came out to eat on the first day with me plus 1 other person in the room watching…i definitely make the same noise & call her name & i was happy that i was able to draw her out 2 times from doing that…but i waited until around 8 pm because thats when she wakes up to eat & sleeps alll day loll ❤
As soon as I got my leopard gecko he loved everyone and wanted to be held. Idk why I’m watching this lol. I think I was just blessed with the best one lol
My boyfriend has one. She never showed herself. But then I started to feed her and give her water. I always talk to animals... And everytime i filled her water bowl or just opened her enclosure, she came to me! She even walks on my hand. My boyfriend was very surprised! So my little gecko girl and I are friends i guess! I love her! 🤗💕
Great video, love the editing 🤙 Last night I think I had a bonding moment with my gecko, he bit my finger and then just stared at me like "Yo, you aren't food, bring out the worms!"
I unintentionally made a sound for my leos everytime id feed them id pick up the bug with tongs and theyd get calcium powder on them so id click the tongs to get the powder off and id do it each time id put down a bug...well now they like the sound of the metal tongs clicking together😭💀
I'm a new gecko owner. And lemme just say: mine has lots of personality!! She's pretty young at the moment, but she's so intelligent! I do keep her in my room and I am partially homeschooled. While I don't make loud noises, I am in my room constantly doing schoolwork, but she seems fine with it. When I come in the room and sit on my bed, she comes out of her hide and sleeps on top of it which I think is kinda cute. Idk if that's a bad sign or not. I love your videos, thank you so much for your help!!
yeah this is cool n all and I've used these tactics for the past two years but now I'm just positive my gecko is devil spawn. I love her to death. its just...devil spawn
A lot of the time, I'm always nervous to pick up my leopard gecko, Sketch. I've picked him up before, but I've just gotten a sudden fear. I don't know how to deal with it. I try to ignore my fear, but I can't. I'm always scared i'll be bitten, even though I know leopard gecko bites don't really hurt much. How can I deal with this fear?
Other than keep trying, I don't really know. Possibly try to every day stroke them and eventually work your way up to handling properly. Other than that, all I can really say is that I've been bitten before, and you barely even notice it. Even so, they rarely bite in the first place.
Luckily, My leopard gecko's cage is in my room so it sees me everyday and sometimes watches me from it's cage, so at least it's used to me. That's one good thing.
I have a similar fear with both my leopard gecko and crested gecko. My crested never bites me but has lunged at me to show off aggression and often tries escaping by bolting across my room so it is always so stressful to have her out! That fear has carried over onto my baby Leo however he is so calm when I hold him and never lunges or seems stressed but I do fear that I disturb him and that makes me afraid to pick him up as well
Don’t know if it’s just me, I watched tons of videos before I got my gecko. Then now after he’s tamed and he’s my best friend I still watch them to make sure I remembered and learned the information correctly. My gecko is so good, I love him. Thank you for all the advice I’ve learned.
I just realized how much things I've been doing wrong! My gecko is 8 years old and I've had him since 15th of April 2018 from now on i'll follow these tips
Thank you so much for the helpful information. I just recently adopted my Leopard Gecko named Michael and he's trying to bond with me and lately he's been a bit stingy. I absolutely adore him. I also named him after Arch Angel Michael from the Bible. Again thank you so much and God bless you
So this helped because I have a dog and when she wags her tail it means she’s happy but with leopard geckos it means he or her is stressed thanks because I’m gonna be getting a leopard gecko and I have done lots of research but your videos really help thx 😁😁
i feel a bit sad because i have accidentally stressed out my gecko to the point where she is a bit scared of me so i am trying to fix that as best as possible
Thanks, Leopard Gecko!! I just got a Leo named Lemon and she is so sweet! She loves to come out to eat and stares at me when I leave and comes out to see me. Even though her cage doesn't have those fancy front doors, she still knows what her food is kept in and wags her tail like a dog when she is hungry it's so cute!!! Many thanks for all fo your tips!! -AVeryHappyGeckoGirl
My leopard gecko comes in a couple of hours, and I’ve done loads of research but I still feel really underprepared!, the feeding schedule works amazing for me with work etc, I’ll feed them around 7pm GBT as that’s after work, they are 5 months old and I’m still struggling on what to feed them and how often, because everywhere I go it’s saying different things!
Feed daily under six months, every other day between 6-12 months, and 1-2 times a week over a year. Live crickets, roaches, silkworms, and black soldier fly larvae can be fed regularly. Mealworms, super worms, and hornworms can be fed occasionally. The more variety in their diet, the better :)
Hello my name is lexi I've been watching you for almost a year and I now have had my lizard for almost a year I became obsessed with lizards when I first started watching you I was very uneducated but now have learned so much from you I would just like to give you a big thank you
Wrigley Strauss as many as they’ll eat in fifteen minutes. Mealworms aren’t a good staple diet, I recommend crickets or Dubia roaches. Try to vary their diet
Right. Fuck that guy. He makes me sick. Horrible husbandry and doesn't give a damn about his animals' wellbeing. I can't believe how many knuckleheads out there still defend his breeding practices (spiders... you know it) Just sick. I'm glad I saw all of that before ending up buying an animal from him. I ended up getting my gecko locally anyway though because of the shipping delays. Not putting an animal into that situation. I was really expecting more comments about barczyk lol 🤮
@@edendehring3942 He breeds spider ball pythons, which is a morph that is notorious for have severe neurological disorders. He also keeps some of his reptiles in smaller than normal tub setups that are pretty much empty and with no enrichment. And that's only a few things that he does.
Thank you a ton my son is three and wanted a lizard so I just got one and this was super helpful for the both of us tomorrow morning we will go in making a sound and too feed him in a bowl he seem to like his new home he is running around sun basking and not hiding so it makes me happy he is becoming comfortable already
I got my first little Leo a couple weeks ago. Don't know her age cause she was an adult when I got her, but she seems to be doing really well. Her name is Circe, and, after following all of the tips on this channel, she's a very sweet and cuddly little girl.
I don't really have a specific sound for my geckos but I have done something similar with singing! Every time I get ready to bring them out to feed I start singing to them and they each come out and walk into my hand. It's been a great bonding experience and is also a great way of training them
Rainbow Newt Gaming I strongly recommend not letting them near each other. The gecko could get injured, killed, or drop their tail. They’re predator and prey.
One of my geckos favorite things to do when handling is what i like to call “ treadmill” she just goes in a straight line walking from my hand to my other hand, and I just keep moving my hands back in front of the other when she steps off of it
So I've been watching your videos for a few months now and agree on your stance against petco (especially since my girlfriend works at one and has told me so much more wrong with that company) and so I decided to do something! My cousin used to work in petco corporate so I asked him if there is anyone he could get me in contact with.. I will keep ou posted if I am able to do anything about their mistreatment and misinformation about their animals
Tonypepperoni99 thank you, where I live we only have a petco, I have bought so many animals that habe died, my wife also bought me a water Dragon. I had him a week. He didn't wanna eat at first. (The food they suggested) so I got some crickets. He ate one,yes they were small enough for him, but he stopped breathing. Luckily I have some experience with alot of different things. I was able to clear his throat. He went limp and stoped breathing before this. I had my wife record it for proof. I took him back and they played for him to go to the vet. He just got back a few days ago. Sadly I decided to not keep him. But I did get my first leopard gecko.

@@beautypsychmani3124 She said that she was doing the clicking noise, not her gecko ^.^

Imagine what a better world this would be if people showed this must interest in others peace, happiness, and respect regarding care as well as personal space. Love Leopard Geckos.

don't call me out like that.
My little dude and I have a "dinner noise" so he knows whether to expect bugs or attention when I open his enclosure. It's a huge help when I have a house sitter feed him, too. I figure geckos are good enough at recognizing your voice and scent that it's more practical to identify situations.
That's so smart, I'm going to do this with my new gecko!
THANK YOU!! i’ve gotten a leopard gecko from a family member years ago and she wasn’t treated the best by them so she doesn’t like humans too much. BUT, she’s actually starting to warm up to me!!
My gecko loves back rubbing it’s his favorite. He also loves his head rubbed
5:45 the way he/she pokes her head up is the cutest thing I have ever seen
when you made that noise my gecko came out of his hide thinking it was food time lol
That is adorable 😍 mine is sleeping and doing very sploot
Jennifer Birch what’s his namw
“WITHOUT FURVUR ADOOO” Im so sorry I had to 😂
I have absolutely RUINED my gecko with hand feeding. I feed him, and he just stands there looking at me like, "hey man, watcha doing? You gonna get me out again?" He gets handled every evening. And he LOVES when I rub his back.
You own a cat
My gecko Joy doesn't like it when I stroke under her chin so I stroke her back, but! For those people who have geckos like mine, if they start to arch their back when you touch the back, or they try to flatten down just pull your hand away, please
yeah as i said all geckos are different haha , mine just all hate it :')
Why? I'm sort of new to it?
Lillian Lunt
So I got a leo about a year ago I adopted her and she had the starting of mbd but I have been taking very good care of her, I was wondering why it’s not a good thing to pet them on their backs? She seems to enjoy it and she doesn’t like run away from it, but I was just wondering why you think it’s not the greatest idea? I get that they are all different just curious
You mean like avoiding our hand or getting away from our hand something like that?
Mine doesn't like being touched but the spot he tolerates the most is the neck lol
This really help me to understand the bonding process of my leopard gecko.
ah perfect!
Got a leopard gecko yesterday, these are great tips. Thx!
J Goofy how’s it going
Congrats on getting a gecko!
To make a long story short I went from zero leopard geckos to FOUR over night and while I’ve done thorough research your videos have been a HUGE help! I already had a crested gecko so your videos for them have been great too. Just wanted to say thanks for making videos 😁
My gecko loves me... in his own way
Lemme guess. His love is biting you..? xD
hahaa :')
Same here. Just got mine a couple weeks ago!
Ive had my gecko for 11 years so far and I always listen to your advice! I love your videos!!!
My leopard gecko just used to ignore me before. But I started hand feeding him, and now he comes out of his hide every time he hears my voice. Even if it's his nap time
I never knew they hated being touched on the back! I thought it was just my leopard geckos. Thanks for including that, now I know :)
i got one 3 days ago & suprisingly she came out to eat on the first day with me plus 1 other person in the room watching…i definitely make the same noise & call her name & i was happy that i was able to draw her out 2 times from doing that…but i waited until around 8 pm because thats when she wakes up to eat & sleeps alll day loll ❤
As soon as I got my leopard gecko he loved everyone and wanted to be held. Idk why I’m watching this lol. I think I was just blessed with the best one lol
my gecko love to be petting on her head
I am getting a gecko tomorrow and I am so excited!!!!!!
Have u got it yet? ;D
Yeah now I have its name is pepper and is soooooo tiiiiiny

You're so helpful! I'm very interested in adopting a gecko and your videos are really educating me, thanks so much!
I love her! 🤗💕
Absolutely LOVE how chubby and happy your Geckos look! Their tails are really nice!
My sound for my leopard gecko is "handsome"
Mines is beans or yip yip
@@bunni_.goblin9862 "Yip yip" like Aang to Appa?
The sound for my girl is “lil baby man”, “baby”, and when she’s bratty, “Toffee” (her actual name.)
That Shane Dawson shirt tho 👌🙌
Hannah D. I noticed that too XD
I didn't even realise when I was filming, I just happened to have it on :')
Maybe it’s the tone of your voice that determines the amount of meaning. I LOVE YOU GECKO!!!
Loving the Shane Dawson merch!!!!!!! 😍
London Burgos just noticed it! Yasssss
I WAS GONNA SAY THAT
yassssssss
the very first thing i noticed 😅
Loving the profile pic
Great video, love the editing 🤙 Last night I think I had a bonding moment with my gecko, he bit my finger and then just stared at me like "Yo, you aren't food, bring out the worms!"
thanks! aww haha they look so confused when that happens lol
I watched this 3yrs ago now my leopard gecko quickly comes out of his hide in excitement everytime i do the clicking sound.
Thanks for the video, my girl arches her back oddly when I stroke it, I had no idea that mean she hated it! Definitely won’t be doing that anymore 😩
What does he do? Do they even like getting touched?
I'm curious to read what she does too lol
Me too lol my friend really wants to sell me his as my first pet but I’m cuurooos

I see u have a bakugo prof pic, to brighten your day, I named my gecko Toshinori.
Row Hobbit you can start small with short time the make them longer as you get more comfortable
What about sitting in a penned off area? That way, if your gecko does bolt/want to go exploring, they're still contained and can't go far?
I have a similar fear with both my leopard gecko and crested gecko. My crested never bites me but has lunged at me to show off aggression and often tries escaping by bolting across my room so it is always so stressful to have her out! That fear has carried over onto my baby Leo however he is so calm when I hold him and never lunges or seems stressed but I do fear that I disturb him and that makes me afraid to pick him up as well
THAT IS SO COOL THE THUMBNAIL BECOMES THE VIDEO!!! 0:00

I have 2 Leo's and they are my pride and joy I love them so much and thank God they are healthy and happy
Just wondering, are they housed together?
Don’t know if it’s just me, I watched tons of videos before I got my gecko. Then now after he’s tamed and he’s my best friend I still watch them to make sure I remembered and learned the information correctly. My gecko is so good, I love him. Thank you for all the advice I’ve learned.
this was so helpful! thank you!
ah im glad :) no problem!
this helps alot my leapord gecko is 4 and a half years old and he is now happier

The Shane Dawson merch ! I’m in love
I have a gecko named lemon :D
The more variety in their diet, the better :)
loving that shane dawson merch
Hello my name is lexi I've been watching you for almost a year and I now have had my lizard for almost a year I became obsessed with lizards when I first started watching you I was very uneducated but now have learned so much from you I would just like to give you a big thank you
How many mealworms should i feed my gecko not a baby but not adult
Wrigley Strauss as many as they’ll eat in fifteen minutes. Mealworms aren’t a good staple diet, I recommend crickets or Dubia roaches. Try to vary their diet
"no hate to brian"
this aged poorly lmao
Right. Fuck that guy. He makes me sick. Horrible husbandry and doesn't give a damn about his animals' wellbeing. I can't believe how many knuckleheads out there still defend his breeding practices (spiders... you know it)
Just sick. I'm glad I saw all of that before ending up buying an animal from him. I ended up getting my gecko locally anyway though because of the shipping delays. Not putting an animal into that situation.
I was really expecting more comments about barczyk lol
🤮
PewPewCat :O what did he do? I haven’t really been watching him for a long time so I don’t know a ton about him.
@@edendehring3942 He breeds spider ball pythons, which is a morph that is notorious for have severe neurological disorders. He also keeps some of his reptiles in smaller than normal tub setups that are pretty much empty and with no enrichment. And that's only a few things that he does.
i commented on his live to stop breeding ball pythons and he blocked my comments and called me uneducated (:
@@subhub637 because when you say “stop breeding ball pythons” when you hop in someone’s live, you kinda just make yourself look like a dumbass
Thank you a ton my son is three and wanted a lizard so I just got one and this was super helpful for the both of us tomorrow morning we will go in making a sound and too feed him in a bowl he seem to like his new home he is running around sun basking and not hiding so it makes me happy he is becoming comfortable already
Im livin for that shane dawson shirt
My gecko also hates being stroked along her back!
I got my first little Leo a couple weeks ago. Don't know her age cause she was an adult when I got her, but she seems to be doing really well. Her name is Circe, and, after following all of the tips on this channel, she's a very sweet and cuddly little girl.
OMG you’re wearing a Shane Dawson shirt! I can’t believe nobody pointed this out on my God I’ve gained a whole new level of respect for you
Randomness Lord literally every comment is about the Shane Dawson merch.
Yay first! I LOVE YOU LEOPARD GECKO!
aw thank you :)
I don't really have a specific sound for my geckos but I have done something similar with singing! Every time I get ready to bring them out to feed I start singing to them and they each come out and walk into my hand. It's been a great bonding experience and is also a great way of training them
Thx for telling me about touching him on his back yeah mine doesn’t like it thank you I’ll stop now
Is this weird but my cat and leopard gecko are very close and they both get stressed when they don’t see each over all day like WHY
Rainbow Newt Gaming I strongly recommend not letting them near each other. The gecko could get injured, killed, or drop their tail. They’re predator and prey.
Fiona Shepley one key detail is that the cat is paralyzed and can’t do anything to it
Memo Mochi awwww that’s so sad
My chihuahua whimpers to see my corn snake loves watching him in his rub as she can watch him
Fiona Shepley good for you, commenting things on people’s comments to make them feel scared when they clearly know what they’re doing.
I will keep ou posted if I am able to do anything about their mistreatment and misinformation about their animals
ah good on you! Yeah keep me posted :)
Ya petco isn’t the best place but some take pretty good care of their geckos, I know a petco that even has cool hides for the Leo’s
