I really enjoy these longer videos. Is it weird to say it is like a zen meditation type of watching? 😂 My life does not really allow me to have shrimp/Fish tanks right now but as soon as I get to a calmer period in life a shrimp tank is the first thing im getting.
Just watched your TDS meter video from 8yrs ago and comments are turned off. I have the same bunk meter and your video answered all my questions. So I am here to say thank you. I may be late to the party, but good information deserves recognition.
Love this style and just your personality shining through. Thanks so much for these weekly gems and letting us into your shrimpy world. looking forward to the next one!
Good sir! I love this series so much! So calm and real. Thank you for sharing your own experience in the hobby. It’s such a good listen all the way through while doing Saturday water changes
@@MarksShrimpTanks I get my white Tabs from gbeeshrimp I don't know if it's the original company I will speak to Glen and pop you a message I've got other bits to send you so I will pop one in with it
Hello. I started with 3 Red cherry shrimp. Now, they made about 20 babies, that grow fast. When they will get to maturrity, each will make 10-20 each, aso. Looks like i need to get more aquariums. I'd also like to try other shrimp breeds, but i lack of space.
Thanks Mark! After watching this video I turned down the flow on my filter and almost immediately my shrimp were moving about the tank again. I thought they were hiding because they were berried but no, it was because I’d set the flow too high. (My shrimp also thank you lol).
Hi Mark! I'm constantly trying new shrimp foods and two good vegetable solid feeds I found are "LowKeys Ebi Supple" and "LowKeys Ultra supple" they are from Japan. It's basically all vegetable based, if my memory don't get me wrong they doesn't contain any protein from animals. I actually like this brand, only downside it's the availability of the product in Europe... I ordered directly all their foods from Japan and didn't regret it at all, their baby shrimp food it's crazy. I can provide photos or small samples from my stash if you need any! (Not working for them tho, i'm only a huge shrimp food fanatic) Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with the community
Always enjoy your super crystal reds. Opae ula are awesome, wonder if they would be worth culling? Really nice red opae ulas would be sweet. Think you need a 3rd tank starting with the best ones you can find lol
I've been subscribed for ages now, love the videos, and have finally started to set up a tank for some caridina shrimp after keeping neos for over a year now. Is it possible to have a tank setup with multiple pieces of driftwood, seiryu stone, and a lot of plants with success?
Hello Sneddo, Seiry stone in general is considered a no no in a bee shrimp tank as all rocks are, plants and wood are fine, If you need any help just give me a shout. 👍
The sera ph down is it a method you will continue using is it feasible and reliable. And how do you top up the tanks with pure ro as you mixed the entire water container with gh+
as far as I know ammonium is about 100x less toxic compared to ammonia for shrimp/fish. Below 7 pH, we can assume that the vast majority of ammonia is in form of ammonium, and that would make the safe level of measured ammonia to around 2 mg/L, so light green on the sera test kit.
@@MarksShrimpTanks well, both fish and shrimp are on a fairly wide range when it comes to ammonia tolerance, not to mention snails, so I don't know what safety margins they applied, or even how extensive their research was.
What about GG mineral junkie? There is also a white tab that's full of vitamins and mins ect I will get the name for you, if you can't get where you are I can post to you 😊

Hi . Also mark do you cycle your tank eith pure ro water or you add gh+ in it and let it cucle ?
yes cycle with minerals bacteria need minerals.
The sera ph down is it a method you will continue using is it feasible and reliable. And how do you top up the tanks with pure ro as you mixed the entire water container with gh+
I use oak eaxtraxt directly into the tank for that, you only need a few drops its so powerful.
❤why do you think the Opae ula are so red?🤓
Happy shrimp? I notice when I really watch my feeding all my shrimp come alive with more color, overfeeding is a big killer in a shrimp tank.
@@MarksShrimpTanks 🤙🏼 makes sense!

Yeah I agree that its less toxic, but its still toxic right .. I am thinking long term like chronic exposure.
@@MarksShrimpTanks correct. The maximum safe level for chronic exposure seems to be at the 2mg/L mark in acidic water (according to sera)
I think the are talking about fish though I am not sure its the same level for shrimp.
@@MarksShrimpTanks well, both fish and shrimp are on a fairly wide range when it comes to ammonia tolerance, not to mention snails, so I don't know what safety margins they applied, or even how extensive their research was.
I just do it now ultra safe, no color in the test is good for me apart from start up cycling.

I have 2 tubs of the stuff.

my shrimps are not a big fan of that shrimp dinner by glas garten. not buying that again. they however prefer the shrimp king complete everytime.
Glasgorton shrimp dinner is one of the best shrimp foods I've used so far😉👍
