I think the "fate" is more meaning of the perception certain people have of him. Sandler has shown in his more dramatic films that he can act. Even recetly w/Meyerowitz Stories --- he was great in that. But instead of becoming a respected actor with comedic chops, he continues to make the same type of movie, because he knows they will make money. Sandler is in his 50s now and still plays roles as if he were in his 20s and 30s.
I agree that most of the movies he's come out with recently do not look good (and many look really ridiculous), but I haven't watched a movie of his in a while. Regardless of how his career may be now, though, the movies he did in the nineties and early 2000's were definitely a staple of my childhood. I think the "fate" is more meaning of the perception certain people have of him. Sandler has shown in his more dramatic films that he can act. Even recetly w/Meyerowitz Stories --- he was great in that. But instead of becoming a respected actor with comedic chops, he continues to make the same type of movie, because he knows they will make money. Sandler is in his 50s now and still plays roles as if he were in his 20s and 30s.
I agree that most of the movies he's come out with recently do not look good (and many look really ridiculous), but I haven't watched a movie of his in a while. Regardless of how his career may be now, though, the movies he did in the nineties and early 2000's were definitely a staple of my childhood. Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, The Waterboy, Punch Drunk Love will always be some of my favorite movies (I liked Mr. Deeds, too.. oh yeah, and Big Daddy lol).. They can't all be zingers..

Sad fate? Is having nearly a half billion dollar net worth a sad fate? His last movie recieved a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes before anyone viewed it in an attempt to get people not to view it and it became the number one sought after movie of the month. He has a 250m$ contract, meaning that he is about to be worth a quarter billion more soon. So don't think he is failing. I just wish he would get back with the Billy Madison productions and start making more films with his old crew.
And is this the sorry state of YT now days? Dozens of top ten channels, talentless live streams with woman's tits hanging out and channels that do repeats of what other channels have already done.
Dont get this article. Since voicing Dracula his films have grossed over 4 billion to date. Even those smashed by critics did well at the box office. Hardly a career in the toilet! Personally I don't like the guys films but clearly a lot do.

Adam Sandler will always be a beloved actor, and comedian, but I believe he’s past his prime in the time of comedy acting, his recent roll in Uncut Gems was a phenomenal part for him, that I personally was very skeptical about, but it was a fantastic movie, one of my favorites for Adam Sandler
His is pumping out movies continually with big time names and people prolly making a ridiculous amount of money. I’d say his career his fine.

His movies are the same, he follows the same repetitive story line. I tried not to be so critikal at watching his movies. But I can't anymore. After Mr.deeds you knew his movies weren't going anywhere but down. Plus how can you make people laugh when all you do is annoying voices and fart noises through out your movie.

In almost every instance of newer movies, his comedy is inane. Seriously, nothing to be laughed at. People like him, however, never realize that their time has come and gone unless they come to grips with what's wrong and correct it. Personally, I really enjoyed most if not all of his earlier movies and his form of comedy.
