Kennedy to that of George H. W. Bush. Ray’s duties included chairing National Intelligence Estimates and preparing the President’s Daily Brief, which he briefed one-on-one to President Ronald Reagan’s five most senior national security advisers from 1981 to 1985.

New footage from Ukrainian frontlines showed Russian flag waving in the village of Urozhainoe located on the border of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhie region. As well as the neighboring Staromayorskoe, the village of Urozhainoe was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) during the bloody counteroffensive. Today, it is coming back under the Russian control. The Russian military took control of Staromayorskoye back in June. Then, they launched assault in Urozhainoe. In recent days, Russian troops increased thier offensive operations and advanced in the center of the village.
Russian servicemen of the 37th Guards Motorized Rifle brigade of the 36th Army of the Vostok group of forces planted the Russian flag in the very center of the village. The captured building is located on the Central and Postal streets. More footage from the settlement confirms Russian control of the southern part of the settlement. The AFU are retreating to the northern outskirts, where the main line of their defense is located.
Heavy battles continue in Urozhainoe .Despite the loss of several important strongholds, Ukrainian forces do not stop counterattacks that are usually repelled.
At the same time, Russian forces are expanding the zone of their control north of Staromayorskoe. They advanced towards the village of Makarovka, destroying Ukrainian positions in the fields.
Late on July 11, a suspected Russian missile and drone attack targeted the western region of Khmelnytskyi and other parts of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force (UAF), five Kh-101 air-launched cruise missiles and 19 Geran-type suicide drones were used in the attack.
The main target of the attack was the Starokostiantyniv Air Base, the air force said in a statement, claiming that it shot down all five missiles and 11 out of 19 drones. Still, blasts were reported in the air base as well as in the capital, Kiev, and several other regions.
“It is likely that the enemy is using imitators of attack drones to overload air defense,” the air force noted.
The Starokostiantyniv Air Base is home to the UAF’s 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade, which mainly flies Soviet-made Su-24 fighter bombers. These fighter bombers are responsible for attacks with British-made Storm Shadow and French-made SCALP cruise missiles on Russian territory. The base was hit by the Russian military more than once in the past.
The Russian military stepped up strikes on Ukrainian air bases in recent weeks, destroying or damaging several warplanes of the UAF.
The strikes are likely meant to neutralize what is left of the UAF capabilities as well as to send a warning as Ukraine is preparing to receive American-made F-16 fighter jets from NATO.
The AFU's defenses continue to crumble. After the fall of a heavily fortified stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces north of Novoselovka Pervaya, the garrison is now essentially in a mousetrap. AFU can no longer carry out rotations, and Russian Armed Forces assault units, having gained a foothold in the village, are preparing to inflict a final defeat on them.
This is the last village east of the Volchya River, after which there will be nothing for the AFU to cling to here.
Jeff Colyer (WSJ) - I just returned from eastern Ukraine as one of the few volunteer surgeons to spend several weeks on call in the war zone, observing and training doctors. The Ukrainian medics I met there are extraordinary, but I return with a cautionary tale. I’ve never seen the sheer number of complex and horrifying injuries Ukrainians are suffering. What’s happening in Europe should alert us to the toll of a potential conflict with Russia, China or North Korea. It would be magnitudes greater than anything America has seen in 70 years. Pray that the U.S. doesn’t have such a war.
Aug 8, 2023 (WSJ) - Between 20,000 and 50,000 Ukrainians have lost one or more limbs since the start of the war, according to previously undisclosed estimates.
Sept 4, 2023, AP - Upward of 20,000 Ukrainian amputees face trauma on a scale unseen since WWI. Some clearly remember the moment they were hit by anti-tank mines, aerial bombs, a missile, a shell. For others, the gaps in their memories loom large.
Vitaliy Bilyak’s skinny body is a web of scars that end with an amputation above the knee. During six weeks in a coma, Bilyak underwent over 10 surgeries, including his jaw, hand, and heel, to recover from injuries he received April 22 driving over a pair of anti-tank mines.
“When I woke up, I felt like I was born again and returned from the afterlife,” said Bilyak, who is just beginning his path to rehabilitation. He does not yet know when he’ll receive a prosthesis, which must be fitted individually to each patient.
Ukraine is facing a future with upward of 20,000 amputees, many of them soldiers who are also suffering psychological trauma from their time at the front. Europe has experienced nothing like it since World War I, and the United States not since the Civil War.
Mykhailo Yurchuk, a paratrooper, was wounded in the first weeks of the war near the city of Izium. His comrades loaded him onto a ladder and walked for an hour to safety. All he could think about at the time, he said, was ending it all with a grenade. A medic refused to leave his side and held his hand the entire time as he fell unconscious.
When he awoke in an intensive care unit the medic was still there.
“Thank you for holding my hand,” Yurchuk told him.
“Well, I was afraid you’d pull the pin,” the medic replied. Yurchuk’s left arm was gone below the elbow and his right leg above the knee.

Whenever I hear “Blinken and Sullivan” it makes me think of “Hindenburg and Ludendorff” but in an inverse manner. Paul von Hindenburg and Erich Ludendorff were brilliant military minds and Blinken and Sullivan are the antithesis of them. I don’t know if Blinken and Sullivan could pour the water out of a boot even if you printed the instructions on the sole. I don’t think either of them has probably ever been hunting, slept in a tent, or peed standing up. They have no business wearing men’s clothing, much less serving in any capacity at a high level in a government.

A simple internet search will provide some background but may not help you. For example the ending of the IR Nuclear Forces agreement was exited by the USA as he said because the US & allies believed that Russia was violating the agreement (Russia admitted to having said cruise missiles, but claimed they were under the range limits, US intel claimed otherwise).
You would be wise to double-check someone like Ray as he has a record of being very biased against the US government.

Are those missiles named for Typhon (Typhoeus) as in the Greek myth?: A winged giant, said to be so huge that his head brushed the stars. He was man-shaped from the waist up with two coiled serpents in place of legs. He also famously said, "I am Typhon, the slayer of my brother." If we're naming our missiles for such myths, that's, frankly, horrifying.
"According to Hesiod, Typhon was "terrible, outrageous and lawless", immensely powerful, and on his shoulders were one hundred snake heads, that emitted fire and every kind of noise: Strength was with his hands in all that he did and the feet of the strong god were untiring."

  • @tonyryan43

Ray, understandably, you are focussed exclusively on the northern hemisphere, but in Australia, Northern Territory, the US has Pine Gap, Five Eyes, three satellite spy/navigation installations, F-16 and-up nuke-capable airfields, and a missile base in Gulkula, Arnhem Land. It is looking likely that the US will provoke a joint Cino/Russia pre-emptive response and my unqualified guess is that it would be long-considered cost-effective to station a submarine or two off the NT coast and to launch Avangard, Kinzahl, or even Zircon missiles to each of those 12 targets. Because the rocket and missile fuel stored at Gulkula would also explode, the vaporised byproduct would form a cloud of chlorine gas, which would be driven by the SE prevailing wind across the Gove peninsula killing 4000 people within twenty minutes. Meanwhile, the strikes in Darwin region would detonate the ten giant Npex gas tanks, thereby converting Darwin into a vast pool table of desolation, similar to the 4 mile diameter zone of Nagasaki only much bigger. What I am hoping is that Russia and China will warn the people of north Australia 24 hours before the strikes. This would not mitigate their strike capacity because the US is not capable of spotting the sub. Moreover, we are a US occupied zone and nothing would please us more than to be rid of them, because they are the only reason we will ever be attacked in the first place. If a stray nuke landed on Canberra, not too many Aussies would mourrrn the loss of our politicians and bureaucrats.

The day of Biggles is over and, even if a nuke can fit on a F-16, it is five times slower than the competing enemy missile. A distant and alien notion for you in inner Melbourne, but with WWIII likely any time after September, it's a 24.7 concern in the Top End. We really do need you guys to take this seriously; and for the sakes of your families.

We can see weather or not a video has AI elements, we can see weather a video or photo was edited or tinkered with. We can compare many sources and a lot of info coming out over time because unlike things said on TV which are gone the next day, the internet keeps its history etc.
