This is the second this type of segment I have seen him in. And I can't help but think the girls don't see him as a person and so they come off kind of rude. Or is it chinese culture I don't understand? But omg. I would be so different. I would ask about his hobbies, why he chose his food, and focus also on eating and let things happen naturally if they do. Yes I would talk more than him probably, but I would also make space for him to talk by listening and being quiet and EATING. It's all just so weird to me, as an American and Mexican girl. Altho maybe, the girls are nervous too. And why call him cold? He was EATING and he answered all her questions. He was so polite and respectful and tolerant and patient. I couldn't agree more. They could have chosen the girl with more brain. Like you said, Eleanor Lee could've been very nervous too. Maybe she found the silence awkward. It's bound to be uncomfortable when you go on a first date in front of a live audience, commentator panel, and you know it's gonna be broadcast on TV. Everyone has different ways they interact on dates, so she could've just been trying to know him better. Even if the questions didn't really make the conversation flow, she was trying to learn more about him. Also, I think it's important to remember that these shows are edited so it's possible they didn't show their entire date. This can just be a fun learning experience for both of them, so imho no need to get annoyed at the girl :)

OMG. I just realize the girl who went on date with Yibo is the female lead in drama The Big Boss with Huang Junjie.
First time watching this I got influenced into thinking that he doesn't like girls. Then I searched up the whole thing, watched it and found subtle signs that he got interested. When she said she like man who got humour, what he said next was meant to tease her and he actually liked to tease, you can even see him satisfied with her reaction. Lol... I wouldn't say that he is fond of her much but he definitely got interested especially when she said she could write songs(something he admit he can't do immediately). At first she was too chatty and noisy so he probably got put off but at the later half she actually managed to have proper conversation with him. People also tried to say that he can't wait to leave because of how the date end in which he explained as soon as he could that he actually said that because the producers saying it's "done".
TBH I really like the girl since “big boss “ She’s a HOOT..AND she had me at “doesn’t matter - you’re the dish!” 😂 LOL GET IT GIRL!!

We are straight forward but mostly honest. Don't like to waste words on flattery. Down to earth ppl. No fuss no overdoing things but also loves to have simple true fun. He is very intelligent. Again quiet and observant. Likes to live inside self. Not regretful of things we do. NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM. He has the aura mysterious and sexy. I'm a bit older and I can tell you the girl on this date didn't do very well: she asked closed questions where Yibo can answer only with yes and no. You don't do this if you want the conversation flowing. And she asked about the things that she is interested in; like piano playing or any music instrument , if he write his songs himself and etc. and it probably didn't feel good for him to keep saying no, so Yibo resorted to tell a joke that he is playing the keyboard. At that moment he was already on the defensive and this is also not conductive for a conversation. Regardless if its a date or job interview or just talking to your colleagues and friends.
Probably if she asked something like: "what do you like to do in your free time?" or "what kind of games do you like to play?" these are open ended questions, Yibo would have talked more.
The other thing is, at the beginning as she compared him to a dish: this is objectifying him. Yibo is not a tasty dish to be consumed, he is a person with feelings. So, altho she said it as a joke, I think it's not ok. If I was in Yibo's place I would have felt uncomfortable. Ok, I'll shut up now...
I couldn't agree more. They could have pick a girl with more brain and better manner (well, prettier too). The girl's questions are very offensive. That comment, "You are my dish" is just tasteless. Yibo looks very uncomfortable while trying to be polite. And everybody is amused, my God!!! I love your comment, Million likes to you !!!
Thank you for this, they mirror my thoughts as well. Maybe I’m a bit sensitive when it comes to him however overall, I thought Yibo was already at a disadvantage the way the girl started off the conversation. It was exactly the kind of line that would have him be on the defensive yet he was polite throughout and tried his best in that situation.
@@xx55xx Yibo was younger back then. I think he is much better at conversations now. Still they all made him feel like there's something wrong with him. He even asked. This makes me so sad. Yibo can be socially awkward sometimes but he is genuine and real. this is so rare in our day and age.

Its kind of mean by the staff of the show to have that girl be his blind date. I think that because they know his personality and they always seem to put him with someone he would never be comfortable with. The girl was cute but she never shut up, he seems to be the kind of guy that wants to eat and than talk. He's always honest when they ask him questions about what he likes and doesn't like yet they always put him in a situation where he's going to be uncomfortable.
This is what I like about him...He is a straightforward person no need to pretend or act that something he does not like. Most people mistaken him as a rude guy but he is not.he is just an innocent and genuine person.

Yibo does have a sense of humor. Like am I the only one he finds him funny and charming based on his personality? I feel like people have a misconception of his personality. The man is real. He is not fake or wants to befriend everybody, he is true to himself and that’s very important. I feel like He doesn’t treat girls with any preference or is bias because people can mislead his intentions like they do with other people and like I said he just doesn’t want to befriend everybody, it takes effort and trust to befriend people and that takes time. Plus he is focused on his career and I can see he wants to keep on growing artistically.
