Hi! Awesome video! I’m from Montreal and I found a great m3 skyactiv 2012 but the car as never been sprayed with a rustproof. The frame have surface rust but with our canadian winter to you think it can be problematic to buy a 11 years old without rust proof car that I want to keep 2-4 years? Thank you!
You should go to the mechanic and maybe pay $30 to get it checked out, my 2012 Mazda 3 that has been rust proofed almost every year is only in Okay shape, mine will probably start to rust bad in 5 years

It's a good question, I actually got this Mazda 3 in Montreal and it was never rust proofed before. so if you plan on just keeping the car for another 2-4 years I don't think you should have any real issues, but like mentioned in other comments it's a good thing to get it checked out be a qualified mechanic if you're not sure. 👍

I’m curious if it’s possible to swap ONLY the FD over to the 3’s transmission.
I would think it would be possible. The Cx-5 Trans also has slightly different gearing all the way through. The thing with FWD is that the transmission needs to be taken apart completely to finally get to the diff. So I figured this would be the easiest way to change the FD, I also have no experience taking a transmission apart, so it was more than I wanted to take on at that time.
What kind of mpg do you get on the highway now? My non sky 2.0 gets around 31 highway but drops down to 19 in city traffic
Like I mentioned i the video, since I did the transmission mod, I don't drive as fast on the Hwy, so my gas mileage is similar as before close to 38 mpg on hwy.

Hey! I don't mind it, I always have good winter tires so that helps, and you just need to be more mindful of snowbanks and big potholes. 👍
