today, he gets inducted into the hall of fame, i dare say that he was the best pitcher the phillies have ever had, and id take him broken down and retired over some of the pitchers today. thanks for the memories you gave me and dad roy, i hope he was there to welcome you and i hope you gave him a game of catch, that would have made his afterlife. thank you for everything, even the tears and the goodbyes.

I knew in his 3rd year, when he was only hitting 89MPH and couldn't locate, something was up. Then, in his interviews, his eyes were really glassy, and his voice sounded different. My brother and I both said, " Halladay looks like he is doing percs or some kind of painkiller! It sucks man. I never got more excited to watch a guy pitch every 5th day than I did with Doc. Just painting and movement like you have never seen. And his no nonsense approach fit like a glove in Philly. If he never got hurt and started using Painkillers to try and overcome his injuries, I have no doubt he would have easily won 300 games. He was that good! Some of the best years to watch as a Phillies fan.

That game was no DOUBT the Greatest Playoff Debut of any player of any era. You just don't walk onto the mound for the first playoff game in your life and miss a perfect game by 3 inches on a close ball 4. Throwing the Second postseason NO HITTER in HIstory as your first Start had to go down as the best Debut of all time.
It would be the equivalent of Joey Gallo of the Texas Rangers hitting 4 HR and getting 10 RBI in his first Playoff Game. It doesn't happen.

Prime Productions Halladay is better than Scherzer, but even he is a stretch for top 10 Some might say Steve Carlton belongs on that list. I wanna say Doc is Top 10 definitely, maybe around #8 - #10. I think Scherzer needs to finish his career, then we can judge him.
