Kalidesh, this seems like one of those sets that poeple will either love or hate at first, but I think we'll all come to agree after some time that it was a great set that poeple will want to return to.
when i read this i was amazed, this was one of the few articles in which we can see characters living their daily life, and it was also a surprise that it would be this long

I so love this particular story. That moment between Chandra and Lilianna where Lili, in canon, recalls how the literal hothead would attract drowsy cats if she sat down long then five minutes. Cutest moment ever XD
It is interesting to have the heroes doing normal things like picking out clothes so close to the story where they took on a force that consumes worlds. Quite the contrast.
I'm super excited for Kaladesh! I am an Izzet player myself and it seems like RU artifacts is going to get a huge boost from Kaladesh which makes it even more hype.
Chandra really has a lot to work out, the whole gate watch does, and with so many villains in the multiverse just out and about, they're not going to have an easy time.
I hope that Chandra is alone on Kaladesh. It's a personal plot that the gate watch doesn't need to play a huge part in. I feel like this will be a little closure for Chandra Nalarr, and a relatively new plane is always nice
It's cool that Liliana is hanging out with the gatewatch and even acting friendly with Chandra. Maybe, or at least I hope, she's not as evil and twisted as some would assume, but I kind of doubt it. We'll see~
I love just how the Gatewatch's respective colors seem to affect how they interact with each other. Allied pairs of the Gatewatch seems to have a more close bond than those of their enemy-color.
Nicol Bolas influencing on Mirrodin (now New Phyrexia), a artifact plane, now with an agent in Kaladesh, also an artifact plane... I guess he's got a thing for machines.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one am pretty excited about this setting. Steampunk elements combined with Magic seems like it will be a lot of fun. In a way it reminds me of the original Ravnica set, which flavor wise is probably my favorite set ever. Gtanted, I do wish they would give the Plane it's own story without the Gatewatch having to be all front and center in it. However, I am am very glad they are doing new kinds Planes as opposed to just doing the same setting types over and over again. I'll take what I can get, lol.
I am looking forward to the character development of Chandra from her return to her home Plane. From what I have seen the mechanics of Kaladesh look like they are going to be very interesting to see how they effect standard.
Anyhow, I LOVED the first chapter of Kaladesh's story. Knowing what we are dealing with, with Chandra, is going to be quite a ride. I hope I win the giveaway
i love how much MTG has progressed over the years. i remember when my brother showed the cards to me when i was a teenager, and it's still so awesome! anyone know of any mtg poster outlets in new zealand? haha
I'm hoping Davin works well with the new vehicle concept. He looks like he himself can control aspects of artifacts. Also, expect some serious conflict out of him as he is part of the governing force that outlawed pyromancy. This is gonna be a set I think I'll be following very closely.
I hope that they do something with Varaska the unseen and Nahiri the lithomancer where Varaska turns someone or something into stone and Nahiri controls them because their bodies are compromised of stone. Maybe control an eldrazi by turning it into stone and using lithomancy to control its physics altering body?
How this story is going I think we will see planeswalker paired cards... like a planeswalker card with 5 modes both with Chandra and Lily on them with the ultimate combining both of their powers. I think Lily is going to be a major influence on Chandra, which happen to be my favorite planeswalkers and we have been waiting to see Chandra grow, which it seems like her story is finally coming to light starting with her in Oath.
I wonder if this hints at some sort of return to ravnica 2 or just introducing Vraska back in for something else like Ob Nixilis's evil Gatewatch that some people want.
I'm just so excited for this set because it'll be good to see some bright colors after all the darkness of Innistrad and also because I always enjoyed artifacts and I want to know more about Chandra's past!!!
though it's nice to see some potential positive character development, not gunna lie it would be really awesome to see Chandra go into a rage that sets most of Kaladesh ablaze (worldfire reprint anyone?) making her a fugitive from her own friends that have sworn to protect the multiverse.
I personally thought this story helped to add personality to the gatewatch especially Chandra, I've really begun to enjoy her character and would love her origins planeswalker

Actually Ajani appears in the flavor text of a card, so he will pop up on Kaladesh and save Chandra.
