- OLD SCHOOL BUTTER YEAST ROLLS
This is a perfect recipe for your thanksgiving table
Well my recipe is quick and easy like always
And of course they will impress your family and friends
You can make the rolls ahead and freeze the and just take out and proof and cook when u need them( I always have rolls ready to bake in my freezer)
Recipe
4 cup bread flour
2 oz active yeast(1 package)2 teaspoons)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup whole milk(warm)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter( melted)
Combine flour,yeast sugar and salt in mixing bowl
Heat milk eggs , and butter together and add to mixture and mix for 4 minutes
Add additional flour if too wet
Stir until form a slightly sticky dough
Place on flour surface and knead for 10 minutes
Cover and let rest 45 minutes
Divide dough into 12 pieces and shape into balls or cut in strips and fold over
Place on in baking pan and cover and let rise about 30 minutes in warm place
Brush with butter and cook for 20 minutes on 350 degree oven
Brush with additional butter and enjoy
This recipe makes 1 dozen rolls

Everyone would need to be prepared beforehand with ingrediants all measured, if Chef did. Otherwise it would be a flop!! Jeffery, you could charge a fee for those who want to do such. I have others I follow, who do.
My mother was the QUEEN of dinner rolls in our neighborhood back in the 60's in the south. She was a seasonal worker therefore she didn't work during the summer months. EVERYDAY, we had homemade dinner rolls. The baking aroma you could smell down the street when we were outside playing. I am now 64 and when my mother was alive, when I was around 30, I use to ask her how she use to make them. She use to say since she hadn't made them in years, she had forgotten. She was born in the 20's so I understood. I started attempting to make them when I was in my 30's to 2021. I just couldn't get them right. The SAME for homemade biscuits. I just couldn't do it. My mother passed away at 94 in May 22. Early Nov. 22, I finally found the perfect old school dinner roll & biscuit recipe. With tears in my eyes, what I wouldn't do for her to be hear to taste them. She knew how much I wanted to see that I now know how to make biscuits & dinner rolls. I know this was lengthy but I still get emotional about my mom. Thank you for sharing. I does my heart good. And I totally agree, I believe my previous results weren't favorable because I was using regular flour. Once I started researching best flour to use, King Arthur was the best. Once I started using the KA flour, the rolls finally came out JUST RIGHT.
If you add a little vanilla pudding mix to your cinnamon roll dough, it becomes magical like a unicorn. 🦄

My great aunt baked the best rolls, she baked for Dwight Eisenhower's family that lived here and him too when he came to visit. I'm not a big bread eater either. But I will definitely try those probably for Christmas when we usually have ham

I was a baker too and there is nothing as satisfying as working with bread. You learn the sound and texture when the dough is ready and I could even make them all the same size just by feel. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you for the sweet memory. My mother made dinner rolls every Sunday… Parkerhouse, Cloverleaf, you name it! She would put them in a basket with a napkin in it and it would overlap the rolls to keep them warm. I thought we were “fancy”! Gotta have butter on top and in between.
