Man, I love all ya do, but as a history nut, I LOVED this topic. Great job Rev!! "If we don't know where we've been; we are doomed to repeat every mistake in history and lose all appreciation of where we are now.." -Mr. Burger (1986 High School History teacher & Vietnam Vet). Still true.

Leo's Mom (when he leaves the front door open...) "Leo , were you born in a barn?!!" ...Leo says, "Yes." LOL!! That book is awesome too, buddy! I want that; shopping... That's cool and a great story of life and successes... Nice! Farm life then was harsh too, man. My Grampa Scarborough had 9 kids and a giant farm. They were poor before the depression, then supported the entire county during it... They never noticed the depression at home... He and his family were considered the toughest humans in our history... No complaints, not once... and could quote the Bible; died reading it to the town preacher on his porch; finger on the words... I wish I was Leo & Scarborough tough. LOL! We cant imagine these days... Truth. Leo was a great example of American determination and a true love for his craft. What would it be without him..? Wow!

@@TheKirb25 excellent 💯 agree. Sometimes when my kids complain about nonsense it makes me think of farm kids a century ago. LF is an inspiration on many levels. Appreciate you brother 🙏

This is great, I really dig the history stuff as well. Living/growing up near Waukesha I was always interested in Les Paul's life and as a guitar player, the dream opportunity would have been to be in room with Les & Leo and just absorb every story they could tell (if they could agree on anything 😆). The early electric pioneers are just fascinating, and I'm sure we could add more to that group as well from several different eras, like the contributions that Tom Scholz made to modern recording and sound techniques. A book I want to get in that vein is "The Birth of Loud: Leo Fender, Les Paul, and the Guitar-Pioneering Rivalry That Shaped Rock 'n' Roll". I could go on and on!

@@CDNelson87 right on! I am a rarity that we actually listen to Les Paul's music - most people know his guitar but not so much his music which is really unique (Django Reinhardt heavy influence on him). I too love the era of early electric guitars, pioneers indeed! Appreciate you!

@TheRevDr no, I've never had a G&L. I used to have an epiphone but sold it to get another fender ha ha

@paulfield6815 the MFD pickups that Leo designed for G&L are incredible. They tend to be pricey, the Tributes are great but have some QC issues more than they should.

@@TheRevDr honestly I had no idea G&L had anything to do with Fender ha ha. I just did some quick research on it from your comment. Pretty intereting.
