Thank you for this video. This has been so helpful.. I live in rural Oklahoma and I am rocking two wireless ISPs. One gives me about 60meg and the other gives me 6megs. So changing the weight has helped me out so much!
I would like to say this is the best, informative config video I have seen in a long time. How can I make a donation to show appreciation? If still uploading video's you may want to add a super thanks or some sort of option to give donations..
great stuff even though 3 years old. One problem I have is that I need to be in failover mode... and yet "show nat translation" is listing my failover IP in the POST NAT
Hello Ben, your videos are gold, thanks a lot ! First time with UBNT@ work, it helps a lot. I am really impressed with this brand (but cli so different than cisco, sonicwall....)
EdgeMax DualWan failover will break a lot of other features. pptp and l2tp VPN connections will go out on both wan connections randomly. voip device with two connections and devices will work only with first connection - second one will not reach anywhere etc. A lot discussed in edgemeax forum for a years.
Great Video to be consider, but yet to clarify the part of "set sticky" am not quiet sure if you did explained it clearly. Let's presume that our source from the same topology you have is 192.168.1.3 and we want the traffic to be routes only via 2.0.0.2! What would be the command lines?
Hello Ben, excellent real-world example, thank you so very much, do you by any chance have a discord channel or slack where other engineers can chat with you? Also, will be just great to have some RUclips live sessions in which you demonstrate "quick configs" from different small/medium/campus scenarios. Thank you for all you do, I am definitely looking forward to continuing to learn from you.
This is what I want to know too. I'm having issues with gaming and only want my game traffic to go over a specific WAN link that has the lowest latency.
Thank you for posting this video, it is a big help. I would like to know if you hace a video that talks more about sticky, since i was trying to config myself that part but i do not understan so well de sintax for de cli orGui.
Great Video! here an interesting twist... say you have dual-WANs in failover operation. WAN is primary WAN 2 is Failover only. Can you force a persistent flow to failback to WAN from WAN2 after WAN recovers? like dropping state on failback.
Hello Ben, Love the videos . Do you know if it's possible to do load balancing with one ISP that is regular (eth0) ( firewall and dhcp enabled) and the other (eth1)coming from an already firewalled IP with its own private IP. I can get it to work with the basic setting but its giving me a double Nat on the eth1 link. I only use the eth1 link for network management and need to be on the same network (not on the double nat) for my applications to work. I use my eth0 for my main internet. I can setup the router switch on the same IP table of the eth1 connection and disable the DHCP server but the problem will be once I want to use the eth0 interface I will not have any address. I really don't need to have load balance as I usually disable and re-enable the eth0 or eth1 port as needed. I know you're busy and you probably wont read this but I want to say the your videos are really good and they helped me allot. Un petit bonjour du N.-B :)
I tried to set the route-test interval and initial-delay and it didn't work. I went through the config on the GUI and it doesn't look like they are there. Is that an update of the firmware that removed it? I am running 1.9.1.1. By the way this tutorial helped me a lot. Thanks for taking the time to post it.
I have two different ISPs and supplying internet to multiple customers. One ISP gets me 15mbs and the other 20mbs, its Africa so that is alot. Can I combine them without any drop in speed for my clients.
Hi Wiszanyel, the answer is never that easy in the networking world :) Different technologies have different implementations and advantages. With ECMP and 50/50 you always have to be careful with asynchronous routing (which is why you they added the sticky address features).
Thanks Ben, can the failover switch over time be reduced? Thirty seconds is a long time because I run an internet radio station. So would it be feasible to reduce those three pings to, say, one second apart (instead of ten and waiting thirty seconds for failover)? Seamless failover would be ideal but three seconds would suffice if you think this is possible(?)
Hi BEN can i have a request video how to configure EdgeRouterX using 4WAN 1 Lan and LoadBalance Configurations... im using 4wan DHCP and LAN connected switch... Hope this work for my network... thanks nice and clear explanation... thumbs UP!!!
Guys I need help.. I have 2.. 4g lte connection.. Both same Internet isp but I have 2 Internet connection.. So can this should help me to get both 4g speed in one connection like load balance?...... I have 2 4g lte but both are for same isp... Lte advanced router... Can this work for me help...
hi ben thank u for video. My english a lil bit bad. Can i ask u something i have got TP R480t+ i have 2 same İSP wan 50 mb download, 4.5 upload in load balancing. When i try to stream on twitch 4.5 upload doesnt working. İt is using just WAN1 how can i use both connection for streaming on Twitch?

nice video explanation are clear and direct. hope you'll do a video on configuring sticky
Best instructional video I've seen in years. This helped me a lot. Thank you!

Info is gold! Thank you Ben
Thank you! You've helped me on the forum as well :) Appreciated!
pppoe doesn’t show up in FIB, however show load-balance status indicates that everything is working, network seems to be utilizing both links as well.
hello the configuration files link seens to be broken, could you update the link if possible? thanks for the video, very usefull
great stuff even though 3 years old. One problem I have is that I need to be in failover mode... and yet "show nat translation" is listing my failover IP in the POST NAT
The best part is wondering about AD of a static route (1???)... :) Anyway, helpful enough.

you have a video where you add a 2nd WAN where there is a existing configuration?
Verry good tuto!! Thank you!!!!!
But how do we configure the sticky ??
Please make a part 2 showing how to use and setup Sticky. Many users have webservers behind and need to use 1 wan for that
so it is possible to have more than 2 wans ? and if so , how ?

How can i switch the route table?
Hi , How do i send specific type of traffic like 443 (https) over an specific WAN?, the bank sessions are not working
This is what I want to know too. I'm having issues with gaming and only want my game traffic to go over a specific WAN link that has the lowest latency.
You're ver good resource in networking 😊
very Useful tutorial, thank you
can you set the timer of the primary internet being down to like 1 second?
Thank you for posting this video, it is a big help. I would like to know if you hace a video that talks more about sticky, since i was trying to config myself that part but i do not understan so well de sintax for de cli orGui.
We are on the same boat
WORLD NEEDS STICKY , he would get another 10,000 views for that I bet

I have a problem with secure pages (443), Banks, pages for recharges to mibile phone, an so, trust traffic. :-( ... session are losses
Thanks for the video, EdgeRouter is now 1.10 any new features which can simplify Load Balancing DSL 1.5Mb/sec with Cable 100mb/sec?
Can I switch my default ISP? without resetting my config?

Thanks for the information. Have you ever set up site to site vpn with the Duel WAN setup. This walk through helped me out alot.

Does this work the same way on the USG‑PRO‑4? Thanks
Very helpful. Thank You
would u be able to load balance 2 x 1Gbps links and get close to 2Gbps? I know it would be nearly impossible for one client to get 2Gbps though.....
Great video! can we load balance two static IPs e.g Eth0 and Eth1 on the same subnet with one default gateway?
Great video, thanks.
Are there other 'route-test type' options other than ping? T-Mobile business internet 5g drops all icmp packets.
Perhaps a script that tests dns lookup?

Thanks, :) very good video
Hi man, great video! A question, what is better: ECMP or 50/50?
Hi Wiszanyel, the answer is never that easy in the networking world :) Different technologies have different implementations and advantages. With ECMP and 50/50 you always have to be careful with asynchronous routing (which is why you they added the sticky address features).
@@BenPin how to use or set sticky in gui er-x? thanks
Hi is it possible to route all traffic from port 80-443 to wan1 and all traffic from port 444-65535 to wan 2 ?
would this work when both connections are on the same network, i have 2 uplinks i wanna add as wan
what ubiquity router would you refer if i have 3 isp and do you have a video on how to config 3 isp load balancing?
Thanks Ben, can the failover switch over time be reduced? Thirty seconds is a long time because I run an internet radio station.

Sir Pin How about if my 2 ISP has DHCP connection. How can i config my 2 WAN to a load balancing.Hope that you can help me on my concern.
did you find out how to do it
Hi BEN can i have a request video how to configure EdgeRouterX using 4WAN 1 Lan and LoadBalance Configurations... im using 4wan DHCP and LAN connected switch... Hope this work for my network... thanks nice and clear explanation... thumbs UP!!!
Do you have to do this if both isps are dhcp or static ips??
Hi, if both of your uplinks are the same (static/static, dhcp/dhcp or pppoe/pppoe) then you can probably just use the wizard and be done with it.
Guys I need help.. I have 2.. 4g lte connection.. Both same Internet isp but I have 2 Internet connection.. So can this should help me to get both 4g speed in one connection like load balance?...... I have 2 4g lte but both are for same isp... Lte advanced router... Can this work for me help...
hi i try with 2x m1 + att one get 170/35 one get 80/35 but with load balancing not more 170/35 some setting to change in m1 ?
thks for all info
hi ben thank u for video.
My upload speed is 2.3 on connection they are same isp same speed upload. when i look speedtest.com it show me 4.5upload
