- Very quick walkthrough the first half of the R-211 open gangway and walk around of the first few cars. Lots of jingling keys, for those using headphones or earbuds.
I bet it has that new car smell.

Too bad you didn't see it before they installed all the interior gangway covers, pre-power up.
it's cool they let you shoot this, it's got a nice look on the inside! can't wait to see it in action like the older NTT cars but better looking

R211As might be in service in spring, could be delayed tho.
The doors aren’t being tested currently and it the final test before the revanue service testing
So no more private compartment for the conductor? Back to switching cars like on the brightliners???
Maybe in 10 more years lol…

I work with them in the yards.
If they put these trains out with wifi and charging ports, the bums are gonna have a field day with these

When is it going in service?
I wish I knew. I'm pretty sure it won't see passenger service until 2024.
@@olauage That may have been the intention, but they are not doing well in testing. Lots tinkering and testing left to be done.
@@lordvlygar2963 Here we go again, with the MTA spending billions of your hard earned tax dollars on crap that doesn't work.. If that's the case. The MTA should not have scrapped those older R32's.. They may have been older subway cars, but at least they still ran with no mechanical problems..

Sad ....these good looking trains will be part of a dirty dysfunctional subway system
aka homeless who live in dirty housing shelters and don't have a choice, thats a government problem.
Sadly you are right, The current state of the subway system is way out of league for these really good looking trains, But atleast there will be minimum train problems which is a good thing and makes all the trains on right schedule
