Father Phil is a legend lad , hope to see more of him in the coming videos. I know theres not much exciting for him to show us when hes only on the pump but if he's at anything else will ye give him the camera?
Great video, I'm not a farmer, so weird that I am I find slurry spreading fascinating!! I can't help but envisage slurry squirting out in all direction, or a massive blowout, with everyone running for cover, lol. Do you prefer this type a slurry piping machine or the older type where you have to go back and forwards to reload. Father Phil was a star. Sniff Olbas Oil for your blocked nose it'll clear anything!!
do you need very good flow from the hydraulics to drive the macerator on a dribble bar ..........would a 100-90 be fit to do it .....given the output of the hydraulic pump is not over big ......ie they are slow to work a loader compared to a massey .
I am new to your channel and you might have all ready answered this question Are you allowed to use a sprayer to spread slurry Something that would shoot say 40 feet to each side so you could make fewer pass on the field
If it was pure watery stuff you could but theres no point, you would have a lot of washing afterwards before you could put in spray and as far as I know theres no pump on a sprayer for filling it so you would have an awful job filling it
Who does the agitating? Spreading is relatively straightforward in my experience, agitating is a complete lottery. Net, cord, wrap, broken pallets for what ever reason find their way into tanks. A lot of first generation tanks are probably leaking a small bit, so huge volumes of water are required. I think contractors spreading slurry for a living don’t charge enough for what they have to put up with. P.s. your binder is still here, April or May would be a good time to pick it up.
most of the big farms have there own agitator but if we go to a farm where we need to agitate we bring the agitator in the morning and my father will stir as we pump provided we can. thats great end of april should be good for us ill be in touch nearer the time
The owl lad is a good addition on the camera!👍
InstaBlaster...
Your dads good on the camera and not cringey like I thought he would be.
Phil do a video where u take the cover off the mascerator and show in detail how it works
i will do when i get round to doing some slurry with the dribble bar tanker as its much easier to get at
Great video thanks father Phil at the start I think you should be more on camera Great work 👍👍

So would you say a slurry store like that one with the slurry tower is better than having to suck the muck revving the tractor more?
Less pressure on tractor because of gravity and theres no fluting around trying to get it started when it's in a tank under a shed
Do you all ways roll the pipeing turning the reeler that way we put the reeler spining the other diirection when rolling
yes always done it that way dont know is there much of a difference between doing it either way
I saw you in Athlone today on the dual carriageway, nice rig
👍👍
Jesus it would be a fair distance to go to athlone from longford
We were actually going from moate to brideswell through athlone took 1hr 40mins
You cover some area,
How many gallons would you pump in a day?
around 150,000 gallons a day

I dont think he literally meant a crop sprayer lads. Hence why he said “shoot 40 feet”
Kevin Maher you’re a clown yourself, you thought he meant a crop sprayer 🤦🏼♂️
Kevin Maher . It’s called a splash plate . Or even a rain gun . Look it up you clown .
5 or 6 PM would be best for the livestream please
How many metres can you pump with 4” pipe?
we pump up to 2km at the min but we used to pump pig slurry up to 3km with the first pipe off the pump being 5 inch reducing back to 4 inch
How is the 3690 coming on
havent done much to be honest hoping to pull her out sunday and get her ready for the plough
FARMER PHIL wahoooo
Is that a doda pump? Did ye ever need a booster pump for long distances? Great video 👍 about 6 or 7 o clock would probably be best for the livestream
no its a bauer pump and no never had a booster pump on a line before
How much a hour do ye charge ? 130 plus vat where I am
must not be to many in your area doing it were 115 including vat
@@FARMERPHIL3690 that's good value . There also 100 hr to lay pipe
@@nicklad9463 we are 115 flat from when we come in the gate till we leave
