The more I watch these, the more depressed I get. I never bought into the idea of a squat, limited poa figure in 82. My mind was full of space and camo, lol. I came across Matty Collector too late to jump in also. Prices on secondary market to high to fill in the gaps. But I have to tell you, this type of foresight, and vision, would have done the Joe line very well.
I am now a huge MotU Mega Construx fan. I have almost everything (except con exclusives) and I absolutely love it. To me, including the armor set, even though fans may have had it already, shows your commitment not only to the line, but to each individual figure.
As always, thumbs up. Thank you!!!!

I swear, i enjoyed the bios and how you guys built a mature story. You made sense of every figure and how they fit into it the universe. They could flesh out the fiction setup in classics and tell a huge story, complete with a rich history like game of thrones.

This is actually one of the two figures that I never took out of the package. I heard about the leg issues and i was too afraid to risk it so she remains hermetically sealed for all eternity.

I love the way you guys gave us so many obscured character s. And different accessories to complete some figures we already had. You guys. Did a magnificent job and. The classics line make me be interested again in to a franchise that I long forgotten and did not care much about And until today I am still. Hunting for the figures to complete my collection. Unfortunately for me this figures are super expensive now days. I started way too late 😭😭😭😭😭

I heartily second this request! I'd love to see what you originally had in mind, especially since there's still something like 100+ unproduced items on my personal MOTUC Wish List that I'd like to see made, eventually. Perhaps someday. Preferably, when I've got some money saved up. ;)

*Scott gets his facts totally borked in this video.* "The Goddess" was originally called "The Sorceress" and was meant by Mark Taylor to be an evil character, who would pretend to be good. In the first mini-comic she was shown as green skinned and called "The Sorceress", but she has role of a purely good character. The first character called "The Goddess" was originally Teela, (spelt Tee-la at first). She was referred to as "The Warrior Goddess" in the original mini-comic. When the actual toy line was decided on, "The Sorceress" and Teela (The Goddess) were merged into one action figure, which was meant to represent both characters (Sorceress with the snake mask on, and Teela with it off). The Mini-comics began to (mostly) follow suit with this idea, but they changed the name of "The Sorceress" to "The Goddess", who was now shown with Teela's white human skin. The original idea of a Sorceress was resurrected for the Filmation cartoon, in the new character of The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull. Also the idea of there being en evil Sorceress (as originally intended, in the drawings of Mark Taylor), was resurrected in the character of Evil-Lyn. So the original Sorceress character of Mark Taylor, gave birth to 3 new characters - *1) The Sorceress/Goddess* (toy shared with Teela), *2) The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull* (from the Filmation cartoon), *3) Evil-Lyn* (an evil female sorceress).

Those first mini-comics are for me the blueprint MOTU legends. There was something about the Filmation cartoon that just never captured the magic of those original stories. ⚔️

That was a neat vid. I collect the Mega Construx MotU and the Goddess figure that came with Castle Grayskull (where most of the figures were repaints to reflect the original mini-comics, bar the Filmation Sorceress) is one of my faves even just for the cool colours so I enjoyed this video explaining a bit more about her and her resurgence of popularity in figures. :)

      @carn9507 3 года назад

@@spectorcreative1872 Oh yeah, I haven't got any Classics figures but I have been enjoying learning about them and reading all the character bios and how you merged several things together (like having mini-comic jungle barbarian He-Man become his own character predating the era of the more well known incarnation He-Man) and how other MotU lines take inspiration from your work on Classics (like the MC Castle Grayskull has the blue orb that was in Classics, not in the vintage toy). That must be neat to see your work on Classics live on in subsequent incarnations. You've made your own contribution to the lore. :)

Yeah, my first Goddess suffered from the Exploding Hips Syndrome, when all I tried to do was move her leg a little so I could stand her on a shelf better. The SECOND Goddess I got, I stood her on the shelf and just left her there. I try not to even LOOK at her very hard. ;) A Goddess 2.0 would have been very welcome. Shame about the line ending; I would've loved to have seen it continue further.

Have you read the Masters of the Mutiverse comics? One of the issues was a really cool return to the early minicomics version of Eternia.
Also, any chance you can talk about the MOTU minis? With the revival on the horizon, I'm interested to know if the new sculpts are based on concept art or what.

I gotta admit, I like what the comics did with the Goddess. Plenty of figures that could be made from that too...
    Spoilers ahead:
the Goddess AKA Starseed, ends up having three high-priestesses/avatars/vessels, depending on the aspect
    * as Zoar: Teela Na AKA The Sorceress
    * as Serpos: Teela (complete with green skin, cobra outfit, and staff)
    * as Horokoth: Evelyn Morgan Powers AKA Evil-Lyn

I'm not sure if you have answered this in another video or not. But why do so many companies get away with QC issues? A recent example being the new release of Galvatron and his shoulders. Why don't toy companies arrange replacements for their customers or recall their defective figures?

So the Sorceress was always my favorite character of all time. As a child I had Zoar but I wanted a Sorceress figure there wasn't one released at that time my poor mother wrote Mattel trying to see if the figure existed. Finally realizing it didn't at that time she bought another Teela and being the crafty person she was she literally made a tiny outfit by hand to put on Teela to make her the Sorceress.

I wonder why they didn't make Teela Transform into the Snake Armor as a mysterious Magical Ally to He-man later in the Show. The Sorceress kept saying she had her own destiny and that would have been cool to have Teela as the Tuxedo Mask/Green Ranger for a change.

Her plastic is crap too. I have an intact Green Goddess. And after hearing and seeing images of her broken hips I decided to check mine out. I attempted a head swap. I removed her head just fine, and when I attempted to replace the head, the plastic of her neck just caved in. Luckily I could reinforce it with some super glue.
I think I have like 2 more of her still in package. I'm afraid to take them out.
None of my other classics figures have had this problem.
Such a shame. Something about the green, ethereal, spectral look of the figure really appeals to me.

In the 2000x series, Serpos is depicted as an evil snake that devoured civilizations. In the DC Eternity wars, Teela, who's now the new Sorceress, is actually empowered with the spirit of Serpos. There are a few pages where she converts into Serpos to fight Horokoth. Why did DC do this ??? It's clearly contrary to the 2000x series.

I will disagree with clear plastic. As a collector of figures since the early 80s - clear plastic tends to get brittle over time and breaks. I have had several Marvel toys and Transformers do this. One Transformer did it on the shelf by itself not being touched. Same issue as Gold Plastic Syndrome. We call it CPS Clear Plastic Syndrome.

Then the MMPR toy line in 1992 proved that wrong and had a doll line for. Girls for the same show for the pink and Yellow rangers. Then Bandai forgot by the 2000's and shafted the 2 female rangers figures to only get basic figures and no special molds.
