It is completely possible that the fire on Jan. 1st was not completely mopped up and sparked a new fire, it is also completely possible that the power lines started fires in high winds. If the fire started by that electric grid. Then that's what started the dam thing. Cmon people. It's right there in front of you. The electric company ain't going to pay for this loss.
What do you suggest they do? Power lines energize the air and that can cause static electric arcing. Power line towers attract lightning. Burying high tension lines cannot be done long distances due to heat dissipation problems. Defoliating wide swaths beneath transmission lines might be a solution. Assuming power transmission is the culprit in the first place. But these fires started where no powerlines exist
Your statement has a certain hint of a "sheep" with it. Baaaaad statements without any investigating. Also, it is always easy to blame the electric companies, especially in California. I might suggest that you boycott all electric usage and detach from the grid.
(From a recent NY times article) *Many of California’s Most Destructive Fires Were Caused by Power Lines* _Power distribution lines were found to have caused some of California's largest-ever fires in recent years. The Thomas fire in 2017 was started when high winds forced Southern California Edison's power lines to collide, a situation known as “line slap."_
Around 25 lives and $160 billion could have been saved if they were able to contain it early, by the reports coming it took them over 1 hour to respond.
And the main 117-million-gallon reservoir above Pacific Palisades was empty because the LA water manager was more focused on hiring lesbians. So, the hydrants ran dry.

not every bad thing that happens is caused by some malicious actor. sometimes bad things (hurricanes, floods, wildfires, etc.) just happen on their own.
@ for the Eaton fire, yes. But the Palisades one seems to have ignited differently. But yes, I’m sure the winds had potential to cause trouble in more than one way.
The palisades fire is right next to the Santa Monica lookout. If you grew up in the area you’d probably know that the brush used to be cleared every couple years. When I came back for Christmas and checked out the lookout, the brush was so overgrown that it was hard to see Santa Monica over all the dead brush. There was so much and of course now the whole area is up in flames.
Do you not remember the TX fiasco concerning electricity? They want to be independent from the national grip? You all suffered with huge energy bills. Holy sh?t.
Without a camera right at the base of that power tower, it's hard to determine whether it was arson or whether the electrical equipment caused a spark.
If a person set that fire, in the dark, in the middle of trees, they died trying to get away. It was clearly an electrical issue. Yall are insufferable

They have technical data on this. The lines are monitored. If the lines “arced(yes this is correct terminology) the system will have a record of it. So there ya go.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the tower fire was arson. All the powerlines are intact and the fire is around the base, like someone poured something around it.
No, but someone who knows how the Camp Fire Started and the Woosley Fire started can tell you that arciing transmission lines that have anywhere from 30,000 to 150,000 volts can drip molten metal from the outside of the conductors (the wires) down onto the ground and start a fire.
SCE corporate greed caused this. Billions of dollars used to buy back stock instead of using that money to make their systems safer. Public utilities should not be allowed to use any money to buy back stock.
From what I’ve heard, there was a fire in that exact spot on NYE. It got put out, but then probably still had roots burning underneath. So when the wind hit it days later, it sparked it back up.
I watched the video and those you men have been interviewed by authorities. I do not find their comments extremely suspicious more like young men trying to be funny and cool in a stressful situation.
Three months before the wildfire, my insurance company canceled my home insurance. When I got the evacuation notice, I didn’t know what to do. I packed my clothes, my computer, and a few essentials into my car, unsure if I was driving away from the fire or straight into danger. Along the way, I stopped to charge my laptop with my Jackery power station, trying to find a safe place to stay. But you're right, it is very rare that electrical structures cause fires. SMH! Must be aliens. LMFAO! Educate yourself first, express opinions second. Rinse, repeat. It's not a difficult concept.
Actually, that's how the Camp Fire started in Northern California, with very similar destructive behavior. Loose wires sparking in the wind, heating up, then melting and dripping hot metal down into the brush below. The winds were very strong at that time. That's also how the fire in Lahaina, Hawaii began, from damaged wires caused by very high winds making branches and trees fall.
Here in Ireland wildfires (if they happen) would never burn any houses..none !..why?…bricks and mortar..bricks and mortar doesn’t burn..you have to stop building timber framed houses..I’ve lived in both countries, worked in construction so I know what I’m talking about…
California has specific building codes that impact the construction of brick houses: seismic safety. Earthquakes are common in California. Brick construction is susceptible to colapsing during such events.
@ they build brick houses in Japan also high rises..a square brick building will withstand an earthquake whereas a rectangular building won’t..a serious rethink is needed in CA

👉 How on earth that electrical fire was not reported straight away to then send over to it a Canadair to extinguish that fire ??? This is unforgiving. Sad,
What happened to the young lady who was interviewed when the FIRST fire started in Palisades ? She was hiking with her dog and gave a description of what she saw. Never heard the interview again. Many others repeated. She saw exactly what happened. Sweeping it under the rug ??
It’s obvious it could of been intentional it’s all under investigation just because you don’t hear it on the news doesn’t mean ATF hasn’t interviewed, next administration will be overseeing the investigation so you can assure nothing will be done.
So, people video taped the start of two fires....but.... did any of these people think to call 911 and REPORT the fires??? Like, could early reporting of the fires, as soon as they were discovered, have prevented the small initial fires from becoming wild fires?
Those kids 100% started the Palisades fire. They aren't "hikers" they are online pranksters who filmed the entire thing and posted it immediately to social media for likes. If you watch all of their videos it's VERY obvious they started the fire and then ran away from it laughing and pretending it just randomly appeared right where they just were.
No way. If you have ever gone out to touch grass on a mountainside, you would know that smoke was a few miles away from those boys. It would have taken them hours to get back there, light the fire, are return. And that is nearly impossible to do in the dark. They would have had to start out in the dark or ridden in a helicopter to get there
One time when I was a kid I was messing around and lit a palm fronds on fire and the entire tree caught fire. I was just a dumb kid messing around. Thank god it was in Florida and totally wet and humid.
couldn't be a faulty coupler, like was the case in Hawaii and Northern Cali... but hey, why educate yourself first when you can just type a comment? SMH!
They rain sparks onto the ground during high wind events. That's why they're supposed to de-energize those lines. If you remember when they were showing videos from the fires the lines were still sparking, they probably didn't want to shut the celebrities power off for the duration of the wind storms for fear of complaints.
Years ago there was an intense heat wave on my trip to Sicily. I saw a fire starting up on the side of the road. A small fire truck was there so fast to put the fire out. I was aware of the fire department on that trip basically hanging out and waiting. My guess is the fire on the side of the road was a cigarette thrown out the window by the riff raff. I was driving high up in the hills. Very sad how beautiful California is burning up.
Once that fire established itself and the dry winds took control there was no stopping it. A good chance with air support but with such high winds that wasn’t a option at the start. I do hope that catch who did this and maybe get answers for all the victims. One thing for sure trump isn’t going to support anything without getting something from it to benefit him.
(Qur'an 46:24) Then when they saw the torment as a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they said happily, “This is a cloud bringing us rain.” But Prophet Hûd replied, “No, it is what you sought to hasten: a fierce wind carrying a painful punishment!” (Qur'an 46:25) It destroyed everything by the command of its Lord, leaving nothing visible except their ruins. This is how We reward the wicked people.

If you're wealthy enough, you could even hire private firefighting teams to save your house while the rest of the neighborhood burns to the ground. As an ordinary resident, all I can rely on is a Jackery Explorer power station to keep my family informed and safe while we’re fleeing for our lives.
I love Californians and Angelenos. Although the fire destroyed their house, but people faced the disaster calmly. I'm grateful to the professional media organizations for their extensive coverage and making everyone aware of this disaster.
What on earth are you getting at? There were first responders, but this happened very fast. You can be sure the responding firefighters have done their best. Please don’t use the right wing media as your info source on this.
Part of this is due to the fact that most homes are build from wood panels. I could have never thought that this material is so spread in construction over there. Quite cheap but really flammable, specially in such climate. That’s why use mortal , bricks and concrete .
Conspiracies are one thing, but there appears to be some political incentive to have these fires start to fit into the blame game, and then have a certain type of person start it to feed into another devisive agenda
The California wildfires have left many areas without power, creating chaos and uncertainty for affected residents. While the government works on restoring services, people are left to manage on their own. Reliable backup power solutions, such as Jackery's portable power stations, are worth considering as a way to prepare for and combat disasters like this. They provide peace of mind and ensure you stay connected when it matters most.

(From a recent NY times article)
*Many of California’s Most Destructive Fires Were Caused by Power Lines*
_Power distribution lines were found to have caused some of California's largest-ever fires in recent years. The Thomas fire in 2017 was started when high winds forced Southern California Edison's power lines to collide, a situation known as “line slap."_

not every bad thing that happens is caused by some malicious actor. sometimes bad things (hurricanes, floods, wildfires, etc.) just happen on their own.

I’m certainly not a conspiracy theorist, nor a meteorologist, but the fact both started somewhat simultaneously via different means strikes me as odd.
Could it be because power lines cross very brushy terrain, all over CA, like a web, and there were extremely high winds rattling those wires?
@ for the Eaton fire, yes. But the Palisades one seems to have ignited differently. But yes, I’m sure the winds had potential to cause trouble in more than one way.

The palisades fire is right next to the Santa Monica lookout. If you grew up in the area you’d probably know that the brush used to be cleared every couple years. There was so much and of course now the whole area is up in flames.

yes, but this is sort of arson with a history- almost like circuit breakdown- those glass insulators have a history
base fire = arson, I see your logic. Are you a rocket scientist?
No, but someone who knows how the Camp Fire Started and the Woosley Fire started can tell you that arciing transmission lines that have anywhere from 30,000 to 150,000 volts can drip molten metal from the outside of the conductors (the wires) down onto the ground and start a fire.

If that is true they will certainly be questioned and investigated by law enforcement eventually

No way. If you have ever gone out to touch grass on a mountainside, you would know that smoke was a few miles away from those boys. Yeah they run the CA grid off of some AAA lithium batteries in a box. that's exactly how it works
Doesn't matter how high you get, it always takes a single moment to come back down again
But the base is not wires. I wonder if they were set at the bases of the towers to make it look like it was the towers.
Do you even know how power lines work? Plenty of natural ways to spark near the towers.
They rain sparks onto the ground during high wind events. That's why they're supposed to de-energize those lines. If you remember when they were showing videos from the fires the lines were still sparking, they probably didn't want to shut the celebrities power off for the duration of the wind storms for fear of complaints.
May everyone be Safe!!!!
That transmission tower fire is highly susceptible to sparking from the high voltage equipment. Given the wind it could be the reason.
