This myth has been debunked, chances of glass starting a fire is extremely remote. Unfortunately there’s millions of broken glass bottles in the forrests, so under the right circumstances hundreds of fires would start at the same time, likely around noon. The L. A. fires started at night or in the morning.

I have 20 years as a wild land firefighter. It is completely possible that the fire on Jan. 1st was not completely mopped up and sparked a new fire, it is also completely possible that the power lines started fires in high winds. After the initial fires started it is possible arsonists were involved in some starts. Throughout history there has been pyro’s who love to start fires. My initial suspicion is the Jan 1st fire sparking up in high winds and making a run. With the other fire being started by power lines. I do not believe some huge conspiracy as this was an eventuality. People building homes in a high risk fire area is something we deal with every summer. This just happens to get a lot more attention because of the wealthy and celebrities homes.

My take is that regardless of the source or start point of the fire, the fact that it had the capacity to spread that fast to cause such a magnitude of destruction is disturbing. Having watched both wildfires and floods in Canada here, fire and water goes where it wants to regardless. We watched a new river form because there was a tree that came away in the right point of the river for it to decide to cut through a peninsula. Fire is similar, unless there is a good firebreak, it's going to jump where it wants to, through both the air and the ground through roots. The more concerning fact to me is that the reserve for water for firefighting was so diminished. My thoughts are to you all in California at this time.

It seems you dont understand fire if you think that. Even if the houses are made out of brick they'd have the same results. Its obvious you dont understand ther sheer temperature and force of these types of fires.
In fact even if a number of houses was wet beforehand it would again still happen.
So no its not disturbing at all. Its perfectly expected. And has been for a while. Its only disturbing and unexpected to those uneducated or inexperienced.

I lived in Montana and fought fires for 3 years, making extra money. There's a lot of prevention that isn't being done, but once it gets like this, dry and as windy, fires can skip as far as heat and embers can travel. I've seen forest fires jump valleys a half mile away. With the open Santa Anna winds and the style of fuel producing lightweight embers that don't burn out fast, travelling farther distances than the woods im used to, this will probably be at best contained- until rain comes. This is terrible, but I do think this was preventable, and there's evidence of both passed bills ignored and money being redirected away from protecting the citizens.

What do you suggest they do? Power lines energize the air and that can cause static electric arcing. Power line towers attract lightning. Burying high tension lines cannot be done long distances due to heat dissipation problems. Defoliating wide swaths beneath transmission lines might be a solution. Assuming power transmission is the culprit in the first place. But these fires started where no powerlines exist

Do you even know how power lines work? Plenty of natural ways to spark near the towers.

    • @FlaGiant
      @FlaGiant 13 дней назад +1

They rain sparks onto the ground during high wind events. That's why they're supposed to de-energize those lines. If you remember when they were showing videos from the fires the lines were still sparking, they probably didn't want to shut the celebrities power off for the duration of the wind storms for fear of complaints.

Years ago there was an intense heat wave on my trip to Sicily. I saw a fire starting up on the side of the road. A small fire truck was there so fast to put the fire out. I was aware of the fire department on that trip basically hanging out and waiting. My guess is the fire on the side of the road was a cigarette thrown out the window by the riff raff. I was driving high up in the hills. Very sad how beautiful California is burning up.

Once that fire established itself and the dry winds took control there was no stopping it. A good chance with air support but with such high winds that wasn’t a option at the start. I do hope that catch who did this and maybe get answers for all the victims. One thing for sure trump isn’t going to support anything without getting something from it to benefit him.

    (Qur'an 46:24)
Then when they saw the torment as a dense cloud approaching their valleys, they said happily, “This is a cloud bringing us rain.” But Prophet Hûd replied, “No, it is what you sought to hasten: a fierce wind carrying a painful punishment!”
    (Qur'an 46:25)
It destroyed everything by the command of its Lord, leaving nothing visible except their ruins. This is how We reward the wicked people.

If you're wealthy enough, you could even hire private firefighting teams to save your house while the rest of the neighborhood burns to the ground. As an ordinary resident, all I can rely on is a Jackery Explorer power station to keep my family informed and safe while we’re fleeing for our lives.

Part of this is due to the fact that most homes are build from wood panels. I could have never thought that this material is so spread in construction over there. Quite cheap but really flammable, specially in such climate. That’s why use mortal , bricks and concrete .

The California wildfires have left many areas without power, creating chaos and uncertainty for affected residents. While the government works on restoring services, people are left to manage on their own. Reliable backup power solutions, such as Jackery's portable power stations, are worth considering as a way to prepare for and combat disasters like this. They provide peace of mind and ensure you stay connected when it matters most.

If you vote for socialism, you get socialism, if you vote for capitalism you get capitalism. It's every individuals own responsibility to have insurance for their belongings, isn't it? Don't ask what the government will do for you, ask what you can do for the government.

As wildfires become more common and severe, the question arises not only of how to cope but also whether we are doing enough to prevent the tragedy before it occurs.
