Moreover, I think the judges and prosecutors involved are a little bit afraid of the MAGA mob. Otherwise Trump would await his trials in jail, because of him threatening judges and court personeel on social media. The argument that he is running for president and that he has to be free to do so, is no argument in my opinion. First comes the national security interest of the American public to put a dangerous person in jail. The interest of a person to run for president is less important. He can run after winning the trials. There is always a next election period. Provided that Trump does not become President in 2024, because then he will make himself a dictator for life.
He's treading in an area never before seen. We've never had a former President commit as many acts of treason, as this clown has.

The Trump appointed Judge that has bent over backwards to indulge Trump's nonsense is not to be trusted. Its patently clear some of Trump's appointees have a very clear conflict of interest when they bend the law to accommodate straight nonsense. The Special Master is just a delay tactic. It literally makes no difference because the DOJ / FBI has already gone through *all* of the documents, and they've notified the court of that fact.

I shudder to think in whose hands they are in, and just how bad our National Security has been jeopardized. If he skates and gets away with this, I guess we are not a country of law and order, which, we really don’t have a great track record on that with as high the crime rate has become. People can just get away with all sorts of things. It’s truly amazing, and for that reason. I’m fearful of the outcome on this one. I’m still hopeful to see justice served.

Think about it. How about a person wrongfully accused by a corrupt regime? While in prison they can run against a puppet (think Russia for example), so there's two sides to this argument and, if there are free and legitimate elections, the voters should retain their right to choose.

A felony charge prevents an individual from voting. Yet, Trump with numerous felonies, criminal charges , etc. is allowed to run for President of the US. How is this proper? Trump should not be allowed to run for any political position in the senate or congress, governor, etc. Trump has participate on treason and insurrection activities against the US then he and any one else should not be allowed to run for any office in our government.

At this point I doubt he will be charged with anything. Nothing will be done before the midterms. Then 2023 will roll around before anything is charged. Trump will announce his candidacy and become untouchable again.

in Germany our Supreme Court equivalent, "Bundesverfassungsgericht" (Court of the Constitution) has a 12 years max term of serving AND they have to have served in one of the 5 highest federal courts (every one for another branch of court cases, like cases of financial or worker rights matter) for at least 5 years to even qualify to a seat. We really want to have qualified judges... but not for life, as legal society changes as much as any other part of life over time.
Senators and Congressmen should have reasonable term limits as well. Presidents should have some experience in one or the other. Trump couldn't have ever gotten a security clearance if he wasn't elected as President.
Agreed Chris, but also, Congressional Term Limits, Ranked Choice voting, publicly funded federal elections, then barring all campaign donations (everybody running for a seat gets the same amount of cash), and make insider trading and paid lobbying punishable by life in prison.

There is a long paper trail in the declassification process, and Trump is basically claiming that the dog ate his homework.
