02A has been designated! 40/990 as per JTWC. The first MDR AOI is now 10/50, the one behind it is 0/20. Gilma has dissipated, while Shanshan and Hone remain weak (though Hone might become a typhoon in the WPAC).

How did that Indian Cyclone formed in land?🤔
It's called the Brown Ocean Effect. Basically, the land is moist enough to support strengthening systems, hence Asna became a TS over land.
