Jesus brought me the very Bible He wanted me to Read and I read every Word with His Help. He Showed me all the relevant parts and I marked them. Now..I Understand! 😊❤
I don't call it my Bible collection. I refer to it as my library! I also don't want to start getting into the premium Bibles because, I can buy more Bibles if I don't blow my total budget on a single, lambs leather or goatskin, etc., that will honestly sit on my shelf because I wouldn't be able to write in any Bible that cost me more than $50 or $60. I own one Bible that is considered premium, from Humble Lamb, and after I took it out of the box to check it out, I put it back in its box and there it has stayed over the last three years. My most used and loved Bible is/was the Schofield NKJV Study Bible, and as I have gotten older I now need large print. I have been replacing my older Bibles with Large Print, faux leathers, and some even updated versions. The 15 point font is stretching it a bit for me because I am an avid note taker, highlighter, and reference user. A Bible containing everything I want would be extremely large and heavy, so I try to stay within the 11 - 12 point font size for the text. I was supposed to have my first cataract surgery in June, but I had to cancel and reschedule it. Maybe after I get both eyes done, I might be able to use my old AND my new Bibles! How fun that would be to transfer my notes to the newer editions I have added to my library.
@@aguyandhisbible Can I ask you quite honestly.... Why would anyone even want a rebind... if the bible comes back with NO lettering on the spine or the cover...? the ONLY WAY I would ever have a rebind done... is if the bible came back with the EXACT same lettering along the spine... as it had originally.. for the amount of money these re binders charge they NEED to do at least THAT much. I quit buying bonded leather bibles Just for that reason... the covers fell apart... and the rebinds besides being soft and cushy are plain and have no lettering on them... in other words ... the bibles I HAVE had rebound which has been about 4.. .One I wrote on in Gold ink myself.. without a stencil kit... so even though I lettered it... it is a little sloppy... and the others I just look at but no longer use... any others I just slipped some covers over.. for 10 dollars or so.. there is a place thru Amazon.. that sells these stretchable cloth like wraps for books.. bottom line... around 3 years ago I started ONLY buying ONLY bibles that came with genuine leather covers that were soft to the touch and pliable..
@@aguyandhisbible P.S. let me know if you get a bead on a 2002 NASB wide margin.. single column Lockman Foundation "Judge"..in calfskin... preferably NON indexed.. for under 200.00.. that would make me happy... @@jeffcarlson3269 Great question. I would like to address the imprinting / spine issue you mentioned first. I have had a Bible rebound (one I had previously owned then sent in) and I have bought a rebind (one the company did I just purchased from them new). The one I bought right from the company absolutely had spine work done it. I has "Holy Bible" "ESV" then the company's logo at the bottom. The one I had done from an old Bible, I chose not to have the spine work done, but that option was available, and I have not seen one rebinder that I have come across that does not offer that option. In regards to why a rebind, for me personally it is a preference. I like the feel and durability of leather, and I like that idea of "creating my own Bible".. something that is unique and eye catching. It is a conversation starter when I am out (if you have watched my videos you know I take a Bible with me anywhere I go). I also think if I have a Bible that is falling apart, a rebind is a good idea if I want to pass it along to someone else.
@@aguyandhisbible I agree with the durability issue.. of a re bind...I have purchased myself... at least 2 re binds done from people "getting started".. in the re bind business off E-bay... and in both instances they did not come with ANY markings on the cover... and ONE of those two was so far off center.. that I gave a negative feedback to.. and DID receive a little kickback on the cost... but that does Not help me any with my situation of having two rebinds I will Never use.. I got a hold of one professional re binder once on the phone.. to question them about their materials pricing.. turn around time.. and I expressed what I wanted... and at the end of the conversation.. the re binder told me that his company was NOT the right one for me.. .I guess it was HIS way or the highway AND the bible I had rebound back in 2005 at a local rebindery here where I live.. did a great job.. on a bonded leather I took to them BUT... it as well came back to me with No marking on the cover... they DID however put ONE ribbon in it.. and the sewing Job... is bar none.. I am still using it today...BUT... on THAT one I hand wrote "HOLY BIBLE"... and "NELSON" in the spine with a Gold marker... then sealed the lettering with clear tape...so the lettering would not rub off... and now the tape is looking a bit shoddy after all of these years... My MAIN issue.. is I do not like the idea of sending a perhaps out of print.. hard to find bible off.. for who knows how long...and then Not knowing if I will be satisfied with it whenever it DOES come back... and let's face it... if the bible is Not a rare or hard to find or out of print bible.. what is the point of a re bind?.. just get another just like it if it wears out.. as far as a bible... people will admire..?.. I have been going to church regularly now 3+ times a week for over 40 years. .now... .. and the ONLY compliments I have EVER received has NOT been in regards to what the cover looks like... .. but I have had people tell me it warms their heart to see all the writing inside my bibles and wear and tear on them...

I too am an avid highlighter and note taker, but I use a journal for all my notes, because I take so many they would never all fit into any Bible lol
