My mom always tells me better get married to a man who loves you than a man you love. These African men will embarrass you. I used to argue with her over the one I was inlove with, she wanted another one who already came home to introduce himself. I later calculated these two men behaviors in my head n decided to go for the one my mom wanted for me. I still love the other one but my sense is higher than my emotions now. I believe it is easier for woman to love especially when they are loved by a man which is why men are instructed to love. Many do not understand this secret. Once you love your wife and treat her right, it is easy for her to love you if she didn't at the first instance. The scripture is always on point.

I was just talking about this same topic yesterday with my friends and I stumbled on this video today. God bless you for sharing. Marriage is one thing I've ever prayed to God that I don't make a mistake in. I think it's better to go for someone who will love, adore and give you peace just like you rightly stated. That's the only way one can even have the peace and support needed for maximizing their potential and for destiny fulfillment.
These points are all spot on Neze nwa. The man must love the woman more. That's why I feel sorry for ladies who are all over men instead of the other way round. Also,yes,the family needs to be involved and if they do not approve the lady should not go ahead. Bc have seen instances where the lady went ahead bc she 'loves' the man and it boomeranged. Yes! Men need respect and women need love. Once a reasonable man sees his woman is giving him peace of mind to carry on his businesses he will worship her but there is no magic formula for unreasonable women and irresponsible men in marriages - u give them their space is an issue u don't, is a big problem. Neze , you are one crazy woman. I was like you too, i told my friends that my own love is not blind. I want quality and responsibility in my marriage ,and my husband will love me so much. Thank God i got it, not that we didnt have issues at all in our marriage, but thank God my husband was not an abusive husband, no he would have gotten woto woto, if he had laid his hands on me. Honestly, I can relate to everything you have said. I have often tell my girlfriend that I cannot marry a man who does not love me nor possess the qualities I want in a husband. That to my parents was been too picky and selective.

Yes you are correct about men needing to love the woman more for marriage to work long term. If that man does not love that woman he will eventually leave the marriage emotionally regardless if he stays physically. A woman can easily know if a man really loves her most times and is marrying for love and not some other reason if they both live in Nigeria or if the woman lives in Nigeria. He would do a legal marriage and not only traditional. If he marries her legally he is unlikely to take a second wife down the road because legal marriage forbids it. Mind you there are some who may do a legal marriage for ulterior motives though, but in those cases the red flag would be he is in a rush to marry you. You may be wealthier. You may be much younger and he is looking to treat you like a house maid. If he loves you more you would know it because you would feel it within yourself. Do not ignore red flags. This woman was wise indeed 🙏🏽

You see, just like our faces are different one another, same can be said about our individual behaviors and characters. The fact that you didn't fall in love with your husband immediately he met you is natural for women and it shows that you understand the fact that love grows over time in relationships. Having said that, the same can't be said about some other women out there because there are women and there are women. Therefore, there are women out there like you who understood the principles of marriage, and there are some that don't understand.
However, it's easier and natural for a man to fall in love with a woman and go to any length to prove his love. But, it's very rare to find a woman like you that can understand or reciprocate a man's love for her and learn to grow to loving the man back. So, there are handful of women out there that are as beautiful, intelligent, eloquent and down to earth like you, who understand the love and marriage principles. So I always heard of this thing about let the man love u more and all that Nne dts how I got into a relationship I was in for yrs this man loved me silly when I say loved ehn hmmmmm there was nothing he wouldn’t do for me but sis I couldn’t love him d way he deserved it wasn’t clicking for me I really cared about him oo but I always had resistance when I heard of marriage from him but I continued staying cos he loved me and I really wanted to try and you know fall for him too. Neze I ended up not marrying him cos I was scared I might end up frustrating both of us in d long run and sincerely I don’t regret my decision I’m happily married to someone I love and that loves me too.
