- It's finally done! Well Part 1 is at least. DreamWorks is a studio of hits and misses so join me as I rank every animated DreamWorks film. I apologize for being late on this video but I'm so ready to go on this journey even if it's catalog of movies are masterpieces or just generic kids movies, DreamWorks is still regarded as one of the best animation studios when it comes to their films
Edit: Hurts to see the Madagascar movies being on the lower side but it's your opinion. I honestly adore this franchise
To be fair a lot of the middle ranking movies are fairly interchangeable and while they are on the lower side I still do enjoy them.

I'm also making my own Dreamworks film ranking and I wonder how you counted 46 films when I counted 48. I'm assuming you didn't count Joseph: King of Dreams and Orion and the Dark (which is fair both are mid)
Yeah I only went over the theatrical releases since there were alot of straight to streaming/DVD movies that I just didn't want to include.
I can’t believe you placed Antz that high. Was it a nostalgia thing lol? Because I just watched it a few months ago for the first time and sir I was disturbed. The whole I can’t feel my body and violence scene, the ugly animation, the weird dialogue but over all the main character. He was so unlikeable 😅
Honestly that's probably the normal and appropriate thoughts towards Antz lol. I always liked how just kind of ugly and out there it is. I guess it just kind of resonated with me as just an insane movie I guess.
I love Madagascar 1 and 3. I don't like 2 at all.
Reasons for Madagascar 2 to be the worst one:
1- It's a King Lion rip-off.
2- Makunga is both a Scar wannabe AND a pathetic villain, unfunny, mad almost superflous tbh.
3- Such a done-to-death, cliche-y "son wants to be a performer while dad wants him to be a bruiser" plot. How original it is...
4- Zuba's a major idiot who basically caused his own problems. Everything was basically his fault, not Alex's. And I don't feel he learned anything in the ending.
5- Marty's unlikable in this one, his plot with the zebra was so unnecessary, aimless, and I did side with Alex over him. Their fight is so stupid compared to the first movie.
6- Numerous continuity errors (Melman's crush on Glória not existing in the first one, Alex's birth mark not existing in the first one, or his dance tbh).
7- Plothole: all the food chain plot point, who was entirely forgotten and never adressed in this one (don't the lions eat other animals? Why predators and prey seem to be all amicable in this movie unlike what was showed in the first one? They did forget whole Alex's drama and nature rules in the original movie???).
Madagascar 2 feels overrated for me, It's TOO MUCH flawed to be great. 1 and 3 are much better for me.
I'm the only one that feel this way? What do you think?
I disagree about Madagascar movies. IMAO Madagascar 1 is the best one, and Madagascar 2 is the worst one.
