The ending was so powerful. I was sobbing. The emotional growth of both wille and simon throughout the season was so good. The ending part when Wilhelm changed his speech, then admitted that was him in the video and the look that he gave to Simon when he turned back and the look that Simon gave him with that song playing in the backgroundd.... POWERFUL 😭 I was so happy. Its better have its 3rd season, already can't wait for that. Agree with u literally one of the best shows that i've ever seen.
I really would have loved to see ‘Revolution’ there but the song has really grown on me because it’s the answer to the question a lot of people are asking- why did Wille come out? ‘Cause you loved me, I could feel it. Cause I loved you’

I hope that the general reaction of the public will be accepting and uplifting - you could hope for that since the Swedish are in many aspects of life quite practical and realistic. It could happen - there - not so sure if the show would have been plotted in the UK.
Anyhow - let me just say I was impressed by your reactions. If seen quite a few on this show now and yours are among of my favorites. And it’s okay that you had that baling moment at the End - I‘m prrrreetty sure that almost everyone here can relate to that…! I know I do. 😉

i want to give you a fun fact that i think you are going to like: when simon sings his song at the party that was not only the first time wille was hearing but edvin too! you can see how genuine his reaction is 💜

I love how they ended where we all would have wished season 1 to end. And I love how Wille finally making them official actually will protect Simon from which ever nonsense August is plotting against him. As he's the kronprinz' partner now. The royal family won't let any dirt near him.
Also, even if Sarah didn't tell the police about August, the rovals could still not get rid of Wille as crown prince cause then there would be a shitstorm about them doing it because he' gay. They can't and won't risk that. So the control freak of a mother and her minions finally can't decide about Willes fate as much anymore.
I'm an old genderfluid person who came out in 1978 when I was 28. I discovered YR randomly and have watched it too many times to count. As has been said here many times, the acting, the script, the diversity in the cast, the music...all of it is so resonant. To have seen this series when I was a teen would have changed my life completely. I revisited the years of confusion, longing and pain being closeted and secretive when I was too young to understand what or who I was. To present a story where sexual orientation/fluidity is not something that is shameful or wrong is truly a revelation. The power of the story is that the characters are teens, messy and conflicted teens, beautifully acted. The best storytelling is found within characters who are so relatable. And YR is that rare find. I can't wait for season 3.
I also want to say that I have watched all your youtube reactions to YR. Your reaction to the final episode of season two moves me, over and over (yes, I am a serial re-watcher of your responses). I applaud your vulnerability and honesty. We are right there with you.
I wonder if Netflix keeps track of the number of times I've watched YR. I refuse to be embarrassed. My children and grandson might find out after I'm gone, if they care to look. They already know I have a YR obsession. I will continue to revisit YR for the healing power of story.

Oh my, that reaction was Sooooo Good. I cried too. It was perfect: Each gave up something they held dear for the love of the other: Simon finally said "I love you" to Wilhelm and that if it must be kept a secret for a while, so be it, because he wanted to be with him. And then Wilhelm gave up the secret of him being in the video with Simon. There HAS to be a Season 3.

No need to apologize for your emotional reaction Ricky, it was brilliant and I could completely relate. The final scenes were so beautiful between Wilhelm and Simon. Both declaring and showing their deep love for one another in such a precious, meaningful way. It meant so much after all the pain they've been through. And Wilhelm's speech was epic. His growth throughout S1 and S2 to come to that point, to find his voice, to be his authentic self, to tell his truth, to declare his love for Simon to a national audience...wow! He did that! Words can't adequately describe the emotions that evoked for me. God I love Wilhelm and Simon! I'm SO emotionally invested in them and in all the stories, characters, relationships of Young Royals, everything about it really. I can't stop rewatching it over and over and it moves me every time. Bravo to everyone involved in creating this series, the performances and writing were next level superb. I'm telling everyone I know to watch it. This finale is sensational, the way Edvin acts is mesmerizing, his facial expressions his intonation, everything is so powerful and well done.

Agreed. Edvin is a remarkable young actor who has so much charisma and is such a scene stealer. It’s hard to take your eyes off him. He communicates so much, without words, with just a simple look or expression, and is eyes are so expressive. Such a brilliant young actor.
I can't speak enough about how amazingly talented of an actor Edvin is. And I REALLY hope he gets a ton of major roles in the future because I don't want his talents to go to waste

Yes, Boris was great! When he said you have no choice who you’re born as but total choice in how you live your life (or something like that), I think that was a seminal moment for Wilhelm.

The only thing I worry about with Sara going to the police is that August can still use the drugs against Simon. I mean she can actually testify that it was August who posted the video but he has a bottle of pills with Simon’s dad’s name on it.
I don't think so. As with Wille making them kind of official, he is the kronprinz's partner. I doubt the royal family will get dirt on him in this situation. Which is why I really love he finally did what he should have done end of season 1
For that she can actually take the blame instead of Simon or blame their father instead. Just a theory
@@Maria-jq3mb I don’t know if blaming the father would work, because what’s his connection to August, but she could fully redeem herself and take the fall for Simon. It better get renewed for season 3, so much drama!!
@@Maria-jq3mb she could eventually but she doesn't know about the drugs yet. That might be the only way she can make up for the betrayal to Simon but Simon wouldn't want her to get in trouble either, and she's 18 so the consequences would be more serious for her.
Part of me thinks Sara could also technically take one for the team and say she provided the drugs to save Simon from that? But the boys/August could also all team up like they did about Alexander in season 1 and come up with the same story to all tell about Simon giving them the drugs. It could go a lot of different ways. And then there is going to be police protocol that’s followed, lots of lawyers, the royal family and if they protect their “backup” or if they don’t want simons name tarnished now Wille has made that official. But also they might try to cover up Wille’s speech and control the media. There are just soooooo many different paths the writers could take.
What incredible maturity Wilhelm has achieved this season! It was really proud to see that.

I loved how Simon realized he wanted Wille even if he had to keep it on the down low and Wille was like hold my beer boo-boo I learned from our experience too and I’m not going to hide you anymore. They both finally realized and decided how much the relationship meant to them and that they were now willing to do the exact things they were so unwilling to do last season if it meant they ended up together. I just love that nothing in this show is black and white it’s all shades of grey. They all make good and bad choices and they can change their choices and actions. So many shows just pigeon hole their characters and don’t show much growth but not young royals.

@@RickyReviews I felt like a proud mom. It was also just such good writing and character growth. I completely understood why Wille denied it was him in season 1 and that Simon did not want to be a secret and now in season 2 they built such strong character arches that I understand why Simon was now ok with keeping it secret and that Wille now wanted to say it was him. I love that both decisions made sense to the characters at the time of season 1 and 2 even though they ended up completely changing their views this season. It’s nice to see characters be able to change as they gain new knowledge and understanding and the situation changes.
I can't believe the many emotions I had in this series and in the end, I cried with sadness, I cried with happiness, I felt empty that the series would end but at the same time anxious for another season and see how the story of willhelm and simon continues , the only thing I can say is that without a doubt it is one of the best series I have seen and with which I have grown most fond of both the characters and the story, it really is a masterpiece (it was a pleasure to relive this series with you and your reactions that are always incredible and very real thank you for reacting to this beautiful series).... ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

This TV show is one of the best I have ever seen because you have many feelings when you watch it - you are sad, mad, angry and happy in a one episode, it changes minute by minute and that is why is it worth it to watch. Exactly, this is what we call being in a relationship. Sometimes we have to find a middle ground. But what Wille did just yes.
The moment Simon agreed to be the secret was such a gamechanger for both sides. Simon decides for him and Wille does in this moment, too. Other than in episode 2 when Wille was shutting down once someone was near, he now shows affection openly even with Jan Olaf near. It was only the next step to make it official. He was already willing to live it.
The character development from selfishness to selflessness with Simon and Wilhelm this season was insane
What a great finale. I cried as well that SPEECH 😭 i'm so proud of wille. That shot of each of them smiling at the other in the end😭 we NEED a season 3 after this or i can never get on with my life like we need to know the aftermath of this. i'm praying! That scene with thegun at august MY GOD that was sooo intense i was yelling too. the actor edvin is just so incredible
I think August as a character really made season 2 for me. I know he is the villain but he’s a damn good one and his actor was incredible. They gave him a lot more to work with this season instead of august seeming to be one dimensional. I think he and Wilhelm’s actors are my favourite stand out performances.
August is a great character addition to the story. Without him, YR would be much less impressive

Your reaction was pure gold! 🤩 I thought the 2nd season was even a tiny bit better than the first. Though I preferred the depiction of bitter sweet love, romance and intimacy between Simon and Wille in season 1, the amount of drama and tension we had to endure in season 2 made the finale so much more rewarding and worth our while. I felt it was a natural progression both Simon and Wille had to go through to grow in character and finding trust in each other.
Each of them, in the end, was willing to sacrifice an integral part of themselves for their love: Wille, ready to renounce the crown (even if he never wanted the throne to begin with). But the real sacrifice here seems to be the betrayal of his family and Erik's legacy in not fulfilling his royal duty (in keeping his true self a secret to portray the "perfect role model"). And Simon willing to be a secret for two years (which has to seem endless when you are just 16) for the sake of being with Wille and living their love only in hiding. In doing so, Wille found the strength to give in to his true nature and to make it shine for all the world to see...
I was incredibly relieved and happy and crying and full of love while watching these final seconds. And now Netflix has to deliver a marvelous, joyous 3rd season, celebrating Wille's and Simon's young love and strength! They better reward us after this season of endless longing and emotional wasteland....
You crying has just started me off crying all over again😭😭 Watching it again I realised that the idea of either being constrained by tradition or deciding to break with tradition is a really dominant theme throughout the whole of Season 2 and just culminates perfectly in Wilhelm's speech, and the ultimate breaking with tradition would be for Wilhelm and Simon to share the throne. (As a thought - let's just hope Sara isn't pregnant!!!) It is one of my favourite ever shows too!
C est magnifique de te voir pleurer Ricky sur la scène finale. Moi aussi j'ai beaucoup pleuré cette saison m'a beaucoup marquée et bouleversée. Edvin et Simon sont magnifiques et de très grands acteurs. On voit qu'ils s'aiment profondément amicalement dans la vraie vie et ça se ressent tout au long des épisodes.

This season was another roller coaster of emotions, finally we got our Wilmon endgame, as soon as Wille said "No.." during the speech I was like "Yess go for it baby" and I ended up crying, as you said sometimes you click with a show, but after 1 season it's not the same, but Young royals is one of those shows that will stay with me forever, it became one of my all time fav 💕 from the writing, the actors (Omar and edvin are amazing) everything!! I can't wait for season 3 (WE NEED SEASON 3) and finally thank you for reacting and being so genuine Ricky, I can relate so much to you!!! 💕 I'm looking forward to your content 💕
Both seasons were brilliant..I just missed Wilhelms beautiful laugh/smile in this season..wonderful reaction...what a show..one if not my fave..looking forward to Skam season 3 which was a stepping stone for shows like YR..🙏🙏
I was definitely impressed with the direction this show went this season. It continued its practice of making sure all the characters were multi-dimensional and capable of making bad decisions, and even make August, as badly as he behaves, more than just a one-dimensional villain. I have probably said this before, but a show I would love to see you react to is the Thai series “Bad Buddy,” which is also become one of my favorites.
I totally agree! I like that they made August more complex than just an 'everything about him is awful' type of character. Also Bad Buddy has been recommended a lot to me! Spoiler alert that will be on my poll of what I should watch next near the end of November :D

Young Royals Is Definitely One Of The Best Best Series I Have Seen In Recent Times. And So Beyond HAPPY That It's Getting The Recognition It Deserves As Well
All season i felt Simon being not understanding Wille's side, and without wanted, both being toxic to each other. What It was so cool, so nice is at the end, without pressure, without making each other feeling bad, they both supported each other and It was super organically.
Your review was incredible. I cried the first time I watched the final episode. I cried even more when I watched your review. Wille said he’d give up the throne to be with Simon. Simon said he would be ok being Wille’s secret if that’s the only way. That inspired Wille to publicly admit that it was him in the video-he had to. Perfect ending of the season. I know the writer of the show is ready to write season 3, and hope there is one, continuing with Wllle”s speech. But the way it ended would also be a fitting finale. We could assume Simon and Wille are totally together now, and Wille is ok with or without being king; more important is his love for Simon. Ricky, you did a great job with your reviews. Thanks much!

See, Simon, you only had to tell Wille you loved him and he'd admit to the world that it was him in the video with you and go public with your relationship... lol... seriously though, what was beautiful about that moment was that Simon decided to sacrifice himself for Wille, and then Wille sacrificed for him in return. The Queen and August can sit on it and rotate. Enough with the secrets and lies. To be honest, the show 'could' end here, but I'd hate it to. With everything out in the open, how are things going to play out? There will need to be further obstacles to their relationship for the show to keep the drama at an 11. I do hope August goes to jail though... even so, the Crown can't be seen to oust Wille for August now because it will look like they are sacrificing the legitimate heir for being gay to prop up the suspected (actual) criminal who outed him when still a minor with a sex tape.
For me S2 was as good as S1 if not better. Hope netflix is going to renew it for a 3rd seaosn. I love your reactions 💜
I just wanna say I love how accurately this show portrays anxiety that Wilhelm struggles with.
Also, I wanted to say that we seem to have the same taste in shows and I recommend that you start watching Shameless US. It's one of my favorite shows and has one of my favorite lgbt couples of all time in it. It's a very great show which made me cry, laugh, be sad be happy many times. This isn't a recommendation for you to react to necessarily, I just think you'd love this show as much as I do and wanted to recommend it to you 😊😊❤️
Your reaction at the end was so wholesome 🥺 I literally felt all the emotions again of this intense episode along with you, like I literally got nervous again even tho I knew what was gonna happen slskss. The ending is just so perfect after all the growth that both Simon and Wille had made. Even tho I'm a little sad they were both fighting so much this season, it was definitely needed to get them to where they are now. I desperately need them together in s3 and fight together this time. Those reactions are going to be 🔥🔥. For me, there were other gay storylines that exist before skam but Skam was the first show to treat it just like a straight romance and I love them so much for that.

omg i loved reliving it with you, especially the finale! i was scared shitless while binging it, so anxious of a bad ending. constantly on the verge of stopping to watch, cos it was unbearable. but the finale was worth all the pain and i, same as you, were bawling my eyes out from relief and happiness

This finale was sooo amazing. Of course I'll always hold season 1 close to me, but season 2 honestly takes the cake for soooo many reasons. Loved your reaction

It was a genious move to have Wilhelm do it this way, the only way he could have complete control over it. It's live, infront of a big live audience, big media presence and many young people going live on social media. The Queen is in the spotlight and can't do anything but act supportive. Her son's therapist is right there supporting him. And now that he's made it public that it's him in the video, it raises all kinds of questions why it isn't investigated in a big way. Alexander has no reason to take the blame for August in a big investigation. And August can't prove that Simon gave him his dad's drugs, it could have been Sara, because she was in love with him. Also, if the Royal Court tried to remove Wilhelm from his position now, it would always look like they are doing it because he's queer. With his speach Wilhelm became the first openly queer Crown Prince in any monarchy ever, it's historic and pulls loads of international attention. So the Royal Family can't really support August in this.

I'm surprised you were happy with Sara's decision to go to the police. It's not her decision to make, and it will affect Wilhem's plans, cause now August is not gonna be his backup, and he won't have anyone to give up the crown to like he planned in order to be free with Simon. I really don't understand why everyone is s hard on August but baby Sara when it comes to her behaviour, she's not anymore innocent in this than him. She saw him at the school, she knew he released a sex tape of her brother, than she used that information as blackmail on august to get the financial aid to stay at the school, didn''t tell her brother abt it for months, and protected/helped August multiple times throughout the season. Why do people keep expecting her to be a good person?
