Personally I'm loving this arc, this is basically "That time Subaru made a Coup de etat in a foreign empire", and yeah some chapters are tedious and with not much happening in them, but it's for giving us information and a sence of direction of how thing are and what should be done. And I completely understand Rem, I mean I would also be sceptical of a dude that you just met, calls himself your hero and the first thing you saw him do was strangle a child. Not a good first impression bro.
It’s nice that we are having an arc that focuses on another selection candidate. It was cool to learn so much about Anastasia in Arc 5 and Crush in Arc 3. I’m curious as to whether Priscilla will leave the selection at the conclusion of this arc. Now all that’s left is the fabled Felt camp arc.
Yeah, I think it makes sense for Felt's camp to be last where she's the youngest and so will have changed the most in the time since we first met her. But I'm all for an arc with a ton of Reinhard in it. I think we'll get lots of Capella in arc 8 too, just because it would make sense for her to be dealt with in the arc focused on Felt's camp.
I love how you slid in a small mention about my favorite aspect of the arc so far - the gigantic white elephant in the room that isn't being talked about as much as it should be, and a lot of it is the fact that Tappei Nagatsuki just isn't bringing it up, which just screams "SUS" to me. The fact that Subaru is a gigantic ticking time bomb as a result of his separation from Beatrice, and at literally any moment he's going to start suffering from mana poisoning. And I just have this feeling it's going to happen at the worst moment possible.
The political crisis of the Vollachian empire and its intricacies makes for a great setting, the additions to the cast were all really good so far, specially Todd and Vincent, I love every second they’re in act. There’s new lights to the old characters, for example, Rem is really unpredictable and interesting because of the amnesia - not that Subaru loving entity we all knew, but a cunning and more serious version of her, Louis is a really mysterious character, she makes me confused all the time whether we can or not trust her. Subaru is isolated for the first time in a while, making room for a lot of personal improvement. Prisca and Al are always a joy to watch and read. The setting in itself gives Tappei a lot of tempo control, the fast paced battles, the slow development when traveling between locations or in an aftermath. I’m loving it so far!
What you see with Rem is called a primal state. Basically when you remove all the baggage of a person you get the true self of who a person is. What you see with Rem is basically she finally has: Self care of herself and other people around her, She acts rationally compare to her Arc 2-3 self where all her emotions drives her actions. This is Rem seeing Subaru for who he is and as a person, Arc 2-3 Rem never saw Subaru as a person at all. Basically this version of Rem will not Pedestal Subaru that Subaru wants Rem to do for him for his own self validation because of his own Insecure problems he has with himself. Emilia may be the person who drives him to become a better person much like Subaru does for Emilia by being in presence but they still need to improve on themselves as individuals by themselves.
Cross dressing working goes beyond being just an anime troupe. Achilles, ajurna, and thor all have cross dressed in myth so your hero crossdressing just something that happens anywhere.

Definitely, and we have Priscilla and Vincent who are very proud, Al, who is very humble but might be the sin archbishop of pride, and we have Subaru spending a lot of time in disguise (as a woman) so having to shelve his pride where he can't be credited for his actions here.
Yeah, Todd is great, I am a fan of calculating villians. Also since arc 7 is a rebellion Subaru probably will have to face just regular people trying to do their duty and not Arch Bishops and psychos. I wonder how he will handle the situation in the future if actual war breaks out.
It's been a long time since we had any updates on the Emilia faction, back in Lugunica. It was established they are headed for Vollachia back in the Arc 6 interlude, and we are already 34 chapters in Arc 7 now. I wonder how that plan is coming along, maybe they are already in the empire, or they could still be devising a plan that lets them cross the border
So far I’ve been enjoying this mystery box of a cast The first chapters were so intense, the battle of the elgina with Subaru using an explosive punch was sick Pristella came out of left field with the crossdressing, it definitely made a lot of levity compared to the forest part Right now things are in a slight lul as we’re building up to the next big stage But the cast has been a major highlight Everyone is a mystery box Rem, Louis, Abel, Todd, Al, all of these are characters mystery boxes, everyone is so damn suspicious I think this arc will ramp up a lot more as this goes on, we know a lot of the Emilia camp will have a major role, meaning they’re showing up sooner rather than later This was promised to be the worst arc Subaru has faced yet, and with Rem removing the hero title I think things are gonna get real bad soon
Yeah, I agree - it's hard to even tell where it's going but the mana poisoning thing is going to have to come up soon. Last we heard of the Emilia faction they were trying to find a way to get there, and I think maybe if Beako had access to a large amount of mana (like say, volcanica's claw) she could possibly do it with yin magic, but that's just my theory...

I love that Subaru hade became natsumi for this arc . It fits very well with the symbolism and themes. Subaru is trapped in the land of wolves where he is a very weak man that doesn't even look like a man .
I was especially surprised that Priscilla is supporting Vincent - I think a lot of us thought she'd be opposing him and Subaru and Al might potentially have to fight. That would have been interesting but I think I like it better for them to be allies.
from chapter 1 to chapter 34 there were many things going on but, the most noticeable ones are : - rems thoughts and emotions (the change of perspective is nice) - various moments hinting at louis not being glottony(not decisive but now there are more) - aldebaran strange behaviour and his care for ram (interesting) - chisha gold will be a hard challenge i think
It's interesting though, that the stuff you liked most was all stuff about characters we already know, which was kind of what I was getting at at the end. It's much harder to get people on board with whole new factions and characters when we're already waiting for more information about the existing characters who are there. I think that's why people will be a lot more on board with the Vincent storyline now Priscilla and Al are involved.
@@NatalieXHunter yep. I dont really care that much about the new characters, they are all ordinary humans with not much going for them (except Vincent). I really hope we dont get that much information about Vollachia, Taritha or Flop because I really couldnt care less, it feels like we get introduced to a bunch of randoms who dont have interesting aspects to them just for the sake of expanding the world. What I fear most tho is that we will go from city to city to collect the Divine Generals, I really hope we wont have that
I don’t know if you’ve seen Bunny Girl Senpai, or if you’ve read it. But, I have a sneaking suspicion that current Rem is going to become a key character in the Arcs to come. With her amnesia working kind of like Kaede’s but in reverse personality wise. I think that sometime in the future, most probably Arc 10 when the final sprint is being set up, the Rem we have now will cease to be after regaining her memories. Subaru will be forced to choose one or the other with RBD and it’ll be interesting to see him realize that if he wants ‘his’ Rem back, he’d have to kill the current Rem. I dunno, it’s a weird connection I thought of and probably won’t even come to fruition, but it’s a cool idea.
Mushoku Tensei Iis damn good. There are some mysteries involving the Rewind Miko and how she kinda triggered the *ENTIRE* story, but meh. Not super relevant. I'm gonna miss your rezero ch analyses though. They were tops! As for the arc? I like it. Sometimes, you gotta spend time doing set up and putting other stuff aside.... that's just storytelling in general with long ass series and complicated plots. Oh! I got done with How NOT To Summon A Demon Lord v14 and it was basically one long final boss battle where everybody got curbstomped by an old guy. Then Diablo and Klem barely managed to eke out a win with a LOT of last minute help. But.... that ending was something else. I liked it though. I feel like this series did good with the cliffhanger ending.
I like arc 7 the most, rem is becoming her own person. I like how al and subaru are bonding, some of the chapters just give a little background info of how subaru interacts with the others. I hope this arc subaru learn how to have a healthy relationship with himself and rem. I want rem to help subaru change for the better, I kinda don't want rem to gain her memories back. I don't want rem to revert back to her old self. It will also tie into the theme with the gluttonies whole theme especially with louis, how life is like a conveyor belt. Maybe subaru can learn how a person can define themselves not just using your memories and experiences define them. If subaru finds a way to give rem memories about, rem should have a choice if she wants them back or not.
I feel like this is going to be a long arc just like arc 4 . Right now we are in the setup moment so we are meeting as many characters as fast as possible . I can’t wait for how this arc turns out
On another note, I think a short visual novel that would be a great and easy anime to adapt is Doki Doki Literature Club since it’s short and interesting. It would be interesting to make it an interactive anime too on a streaming service
I´m really liking it, i really like that this arc is about Subaru being away from the Emilia Camp and that i can allow him to grow from other people outside of his camp. Subaru really needs to understand how much people do value him, i mean, both Priscilla and Vincent (two incredibly proud and meritocratic people) both have praised him. This arc could also give us chance to see how the Emilia Camp handles being without Subaru and how that could develop them. I´m not saying that they will all fundamentally change, but it is nice to see how our protagonists handles being in new situations.
I think this arc will be important for Subaru overall character development and transformation, mainly how he is going to earn back the hero title from Rem by truly be the hero like how he choose to save everyone instead of running away in arc 2. His main goal so far is to take Rem back home but that might change into saving the people of the empire from whatever going to happen later on in this arc because that’s the right thing for a hero to do, not just for the sake of being Rem’s hero but because he want to be a hero that save everyone. Subaru before the “from zero” scene is the mask he put on because that’s what he want to be, meaning that deep down, he want to be a hero not just to save his friend but others as well. What holding him back is his low self esteem belief that he is inferior and never going to be good enough to be someone like Reinhardt who is a hero. If this arc going to have a theme related to the sin, it’s likely to be pride. So this may be the perfect arc for Subaru to realize that prideful desire of becoming a hero of him and that he could still grow into one, overcome his low self esteem issue and enter his second character transformation. Maybe that prideful desire of becoming a hero is also going to manifest into his pride authority later on once he gain the witch factor either. That’s just my speculation but I think it’s fit quite well with how thing are going. Subaru already learn [Humility] for over a year so now is the perfect time for him to regain [Pride] and learn to maintain but not to be corrupt by it.
While I understand your point I think the general writing is too critical of Subaru, that guy has already done so much, who is a hero if not him? I would prefer it if we actually got another action-packed Arc like Arc 5, because Subaru already has developed so much, he is a friendly, hard-working dude, just let that dude rest

This is clearly just a set up and I’m sure Tappei won’t let him off the hook either. If he’s going to suffer anyway, then he’ll definitely grow from it. Also, isn’t it kinda similar to arc 3 & arc 4 which is connected and causing Subaru a whole lot of suffering in a short period of time because his character development of the 2 arcs need to happen in a close amount of time to work best. Also, I’m not a sucker for Subaru’s suffering, I just see some flaw in his character being pointed out as usual so I want to see him overcoming them. Subaru is already a hero in others’ eye, he just needs to see himself that way.

I'm loving arc 7 so far and even tho I love the subaru-obsessed Rem, I think I'm enjoying seeing her without her inferiority complex plus Priscilla and Al are involved in this I cam't ask for more as a fellow Priscilla fan I've been waiting eagerly for her to show up, and get something about Al. I'm planning on reading Ex 5 once yen press grace us with a translation but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon. at the moment we have the web novels chapters and hopefully a season 3 of the anime to look forward to (which I've heard they ran into production issues, not sure of how accurate the info tho)
Imagine when the anime only rem fans that have only watched and waited for rem watch arc 7 if it gets animated then they see she "isn't their rem" and then outrage

Yeah, she wasn't her usual self for most of arc 6 but it was a cooperation with her faction and we got a lot of development for Julius, and Ana in the end. So I still think it counts as the Ana faction arc. 7 will be Priscilla faction, 8 Felt.

Can't wait for the Mushoku Tensei analysis. Not enough people appreciate the subtext/metatext to the volumes. Meta-text as in the author's decisions to structure the story the way he does, and execute the story elements the way he does (like how the first 4 episodes explore the life of an adventurer after they've finished, which stories tend not to).
Yeah, there's definitely a lot you can do with meta-analysis - like I have a lot of respect for how Maganote manages to make Rudy so incredibly cringe through the use of first person POV, while it still making sense that he doesn't appear that way to anybody else. Through the dialogue you see the person he wants to be and the way the other characters see him, then through his narration you see that he's always saying super cringey stuff like all the euphemisms he uses for his penis... It's pretty clever writing, but a lot of people just take it as a bunch of pervy stuff. Oddly enough, the sex scenes are all fade-to-black and not graphic at all, so while there's a lot of talk of pervy things, it's just how characters are seeing the world around them, it's not for the purposes of titillating the audience. I'm really looking forward to making some videos about it.
I'll still be making Re:Zero stuff, the Mushoku Tensei stuff is more to replace the AoT stuff since the manga is finished and AoT anime stuff doesn't do well for me for some reason. I'll also be doing more of the random anime stuff too though, I have one in the works about Dragon Maid.

I have been enjoying arc 7 its not as good as arc 6 yet but this arc is still ongoing so that might change. Rem character is interesting i cannot wait to see her character grow more later on, I'm sure that ami rem and rem are going to fuse like arc 6 Subaru did otherwise it not going to be good character develop for rem if tappei just makes her forget everything that make rem who she is this will most likely get over her inferior complex and let my boy subaru get hugs from rem and as many lap pillows from her after all the hell he went through to save her. Im hoping in this arc if Subaru can find a way to get rid of gluttony authoity that made everyone forget Rem also Louis is going to be interested I'm sure she going to die so Subaru can gain the gluttony factor from her, the one thing im wondering is she going remain in this child like state or is the real louis going to come back and Al is sus its going to be interested to see what he's up to. Subaru going to suffer a lot in this arc i hope by the end of this arc he can get some happiness but knowing tappei thats not going to happen.
In case spoilers... Hoshiyomi . . . . . . . There is mention in the latest chapter about a Hoshiyomi (星詠み) ("stargazer") who predicts what will happen tomorrow for the good of the Empire of Vollachia and not necessarily for Vincent. They only talk about the person briefly so it is no doubt something we'll come across later on in the arc. This is one more mystery to add to the list for this arc. Who will it be? Someone new or someone we know? Will it be Pandora, Roswaal, Capella or some new character? Perhaps they see tomorrow by gazing at the stars or perhaps they read it in a gospel... All I'm thinking is.... Oh ssshhhiiiiiii...... This is going to be bad... Like getting into a giant blender with an Al-igator and a Capella-dile... or worse...

Yeah, I'm reading the LNs/WN at the moment and it's really good. I know most people would probably prefer anime only content but I really prefer knowing the source material when I talk about a series in depth, iykwim.
Also I know a lot of people think arc 7 has a slow start but I don't really see it that way - it's taking a long time to get to the meat and potatoes of the plot but there was a lot of stuff happening in the early chapters, and new characters being introduced. It was, to me, a lot more engaging than the start of arcs 4 and 6 where you knew where they were going to go but they had to faff around for ages before actually going there...
Have you ever thought about doing videos on writing? As someone editing my own manuscript to try and get published, I would enjoy to hear more of your thoughts on the issue.
I have thought about it, and it's something I'd like to do, but still tying it into LNs specifically. There are a thousand author channels out there and I don't really want to run a second channel, so I would need to keep it relevant to my general niche. But, I think there's actually a lot you can learn about writing from the Japanese industry, and I've always liked reading stuff that wasn't originally written in English because I have a tendency to kind of mimic styles I've read without meaning to (probably a habit from being a ghostwriter and needing to be able to write whatever style I was hired to), and I find that doesn't really happen with translations, so I can focus on the story choices rather than the word choices, iykwim...

However, discussing story structure and stuff I find fascinating. I know I particularly like Brandon Sanderson's lectures on youtube. I feel like a lot of people have disliked the fact that Subaru is now dressing as girl but I think it’s pretty interesting, because besides jokes and fan service, I think the fact that tappei is still having him dress as girl even after the bloodless fight could mean that it has a deeper meaning, but idk. Do you guys think it’s just fan service?
It makes sense, because he's famous as Natsuki Subaru and he isn't supposed to be in Vollachia, but Natsumi is an alter ego he has used before which his allies know about, so if Natsumi's antics become famous enough to reach Lugunica, they'll know it's him.
That's re zero for you, most of the fights involving Subaru are kinda goofy in several aspects, it is for me a good way to equipoise the heavy psychological scenes.
oh, and probably the witch cult is picking up the reins of vollachia to attack lugunica and whoever wins will be wiped out by the rest of the cult after the battle.
I don't know about that. Unless there is a sin archbishop of pride, the only archbishop still at large is Capella (Regulus, Lye and Geuse are dead, Sirius and Roy are captured, and Louis is with Subaru and possibly not herself), and I think she'll be more of a factor in arc 8 which will focus on the Felt camp, where both she and Felt are connected to the Lugunican royal family.
I’m the worst anime only. I’m basically anime only with spoilers. Like I know what happens volume 6 and around 11 and 12 mushoku tensei. And then already know what’s going on with Rem and which archbishops are dead lol

@@NatalieXHunter it's The Swords of Damocles, you actually followed me a few days ago funnily enough XD. It's about a group of adventurers that find themselves working together. The main 2 focuses of the book are Belladonna and Clera. Belladonna is a Dark Elf druid who left her grove to try to "redeem" Dark Elves by becoming a hero. Though her kindness and naivety and lack of social skills tend to make it harder for her. Clera is the Bastard of the Emprorer's daughter. She's a knight that is brash, impulsive and angry. Her relationship with her mother is a toxic one. As they only saw each other a few times and her mom showed no love for her. There's also all the side characters, but I don't wanna reveal everything XD
I feel like this batch of the arc had a slow start to it which I wasnt a fan of. But I am not an author or good at english lit analysis so lots of things probably went over my head. Still a great arc.
I really felt like it has the least slow start of the last few arcs (like, it took a while for it to become clear what the story was going to be about but at least stuff was happening, rather than just whole chapters of Subaru saying goodbye to Petra and whatnot!).

I know this is unrelated but I have theory that reinhard will become the sinarcbhchop of pride he is the strongest but the most humble maybe pandora will manipulate him, he will also become free from his divine protections. That just my crack theory.
I don't think that can happen, given you can't have an authority and a divine protection, and he has all the divine protections! I mean, maybe he could get the authority and lose all of his divine protections, including the sword saint, but it would take some very strange events for that to happen (he could be forced to, I suppose).

Ah, I see - I need to catch up on all the stuff they've been translating lately - I saw Jake's videos about some of the side stories but haven't actually read them yet, or the stuff Ice translated from the Aganau IF, where I've been trying to get through all of Mushoku Tensei lately.
No, this is based on the web novel. There are fan translations for most of arc 7 so far and then for the newest chapters I actually read machine translations when they first come out to figure out what is going on, then read the human translations from Witch Cult Translations once they're done.

The political crisis of the Vollachian empire and its intricacies makes for a great setting, the additions to the cast were all really good so far, specially Todd and Vincent, I love every second they’re in act. There’s new lights to the old characters, for example, Rem is really unpredictable and interesting because of the amnesia - not that Subaru loving entity we all knew, but a cunning and more serious version of her, Louis is a really mysterious character, she makes me confused all the time whether we can or not trust her. Subaru is isolated for the first time in a while, making room for a lot of personal improvement. Prisca and Al are always a joy to watch and read. The setting in itself gives Tappei a lot of tempo control, the fast paced battles, the slow development when traveling between locations or in an aftermath. I’m loving it so far!
What you see with Rem is called a primal state.
Basically when you remove all the baggage of a person you get the true self of who a person is.
What you see with Rem is basically she finally has:
Self care of herself and other people around her, She acts rationally compare to her Arc 2-3 self where all her emotions drives her actions. This is Rem seeing Subaru for who he is and as a person, Arc 2-3 Rem never saw Subaru as a person at all. Basically this version of Rem will not Pedestal Subaru that Subaru wants Rem to do for him for his own self validation because of his own Insecure problems he has with himself. Emilia may be the person who drives him to become a better person much like Subaru does for Emilia by being in presence but they still need to improve on themselves as individuals by themselves.
Al is the best bro. I really love how the cross-dressing and Natsumi Schwartz became such an important plot point
Cross dressing working goes beyond being just an anime troupe. Achilles, ajurna, and thor all have cross dressed in myth so your hero crossdressing just something that happens anywhere.

I think this arc will be pride as a theme. Vollakia is the land where the strong rulers and power is the source of pride.
Definitely, and we have Priscilla and Vincent who are very proud, Al, who is very humble but might be the sin archbishop of pride, and we have Subaru spending a lot of time in disguise (as a woman) so having to shelve his pride where he can't be credited for his actions here.

Yeah, Todd is great, I am a fan of calculating villians. Also since arc 7 is a rebellion Subaru probably will have to face just regular people trying to do their duty and not Arch Bishops and psychos. I wonder how he will handle the situation in the future if actual war breaks out.
It's been a long time since we had any updates on the Emilia faction, back in Lugunica. It was established they are headed for Vollachia back in the Arc 6 interlude, and we are already 34 chapters in Arc 7 now. I wonder how that plan is coming along, maybe they are already in the empire, or they could still be devising a plan that lets them cross the border

So far I’ve been enjoying this mystery box of a cast
The first chapters were so intense, the battle of the elgina with Subaru using an explosive punch was sick
Pristella came out of left field with the crossdressing, it definitely made a lot of levity compared to the forest part
Right now things are in a slight lul as we’re building up to the next big stage
But the cast has been a major highlight
Everyone is a mystery box
Rem, Louis, Abel, Todd, Al, all of these are characters mystery boxes, everyone is so damn suspicious
I think this arc will ramp up a lot more as this goes on, we know a lot of the Emilia camp will have a major role, meaning they’re showing up sooner rather than later
This was promised to be the worst arc Subaru has faced yet, and with Rem removing the hero title I think things are gonna get real bad soon
Yeah, I agree - it's hard to even tell where it's going but the mana poisoning thing is going to have to come up soon. Last we heard of the Emilia faction they were trying to find a way to get there, and I think maybe if Beako had access to a large amount of mana (like say, volcanica's claw) she could possibly do it with yin magic, but that's just my theory...

I love that Subaru hade became natsumi for this arc . It fits very well with the symbolism and themes. Subaru is trapped in the land of wolves where he is a very weak man that doesn't even look like a man .

I was especially surprised that Priscilla is supporting Vincent - I think a lot of us thought she'd be opposing him and Subaru and Al might potentially have to fight. That would have been interesting but I think I like it better for them to be allies.
from chapter 1 to chapter 34 there were many things going on but, the most noticeable ones are :
- rems thoughts and emotions (the change of perspective is nice)
- various moments hinting at louis not being glottony(not decisive but now there are more)
- aldebaran strange behaviour and his care for ram (interesting)
- chisha gold will be a hard challenge i think
It's interesting though, that the stuff you liked most was all stuff about characters we already know, which was kind of what I was getting at at the end. It's much harder to get people on board with whole new factions and characters when we're already waiting for more information about the existing characters who are there. I think that's why people will be a lot more on board with the Vincent storyline now Priscilla and Al are involved.
@@NatalieXHunter yep. I dont really care that much about the new characters, they are all ordinary humans with not much going for them (except Vincent).
I really hope we dont get that much information about Vollachia, Taritha or Flop because I really couldnt care less, it feels like we get introduced to a bunch of randoms who dont have interesting aspects to them just for the sake of expanding the world.
What I fear most tho is that we will go from city to city to collect the Divine Generals, I really hope we wont have that
I don’t know if you’ve seen Bunny Girl Senpai, or if you’ve read it. But, I have a sneaking suspicion that current Rem is going to become a key character in the Arcs to come. With her amnesia working kind of like Kaede’s but in reverse personality wise.
I think that sometime in the future, most probably Arc 10 when the final sprint is being set up, the Rem we have now will cease to be after regaining her memories. Subaru will be forced to choose one or the other with RBD and it’ll be interesting to see him realize that if he wants ‘his’ Rem back, he’d have to kill the current Rem. I dunno, it’s a weird connection I thought of and probably won’t even come to fruition, but it’s a cool idea.
I hope this happen but the clown will probably not let Subaru not pick both.
I think the 2 personalities will fuse like with Subaru in arc 6

As for the arc? I like it. Sometimes, you gotta spend time doing set up and putting other stuff aside.... that's just storytelling in general with long ass series and complicated plots.
Oh! I got done with How NOT To Summon A Demon Lord v14 and it was basically one long final boss battle where everybody got curbstomped by an old guy.
Then Diablo and Klem barely managed to eke out a win with a LOT of last minute help.
But.... that ending was something else.
I liked it though.
I feel like this series did good with the cliffhanger ending.
I am just happy Rem is finally back and a Louis redemption arc is in sight
O damn, its been a while, glad to see a new vid. Personally I like Arc 7 so far, enjoyed the conflict with Todd and Abel's future plans.
I like arc 7 the most, rem is becoming her own person. I like how al and subaru are bonding, some of the chapters just give a little background info of how subaru interacts with the others. I hope this arc subaru learn how to have a healthy relationship with himself and rem. I want rem to help subaru change for the better, I kinda don't want rem to gain her memories back. I don't want rem to revert back to her old self. It will also tie into the theme with the gluttonies whole theme especially with louis, how life is like a conveyor belt. Maybe subaru can learn how a person can define themselves not just using your memories and experiences define them. If subaru finds a way to give rem memories about, rem should have a choice if she wants them back or not.
I feel like this is going to be a long arc just like arc 4 . Right now we are in the setup moment so we are meeting as many characters as fast as possible . I can’t wait for how this arc turns out

On another note, I think a short visual novel that would be a great and easy anime to adapt is Doki Doki Literature Club since it’s short and interesting. It would be interesting to make it an interactive anime too on a streaming service
I´m really liking it, i really like that this arc is about Subaru being away from the Emilia Camp and that i can allow him to grow from other people outside of his camp. Subaru really needs to understand how much people do value him, i mean, both Priscilla and Vincent (two incredibly proud and meritocratic people) both have praised him.
This arc could also give us chance to see how the Emilia Camp handles being without Subaru and how that could develop them. I´m not saying that they will all fundamentally change, but it is nice to see how our protagonists handles being in new situations.
I think this arc will be important for Subaru overall character development and transformation, mainly how he is going to earn back the hero title from Rem by truly be the hero like how he choose to save everyone instead of running away in arc 2. His main goal so far is to take Rem back home but that might change into saving the people of the empire from whatever going to happen later on in this arc because that’s the right thing for a hero to do, not just for the sake of being Rem’s hero but because he want to be a hero that save everyone. Subaru before the “from zero” scene is the mask he put on because that’s what he want to be, meaning that deep down, he want to be a hero not just to save his friend but others as well. What holding him back is his low self esteem belief that he is inferior and never going to be good enough to be someone like Reinhardt who is a hero. If this arc going to have a theme related to the sin, it’s likely to be pride. So this may be the perfect arc for Subaru to realize that prideful desire of becoming a hero of him and that he could still grow into one, overcome his low self esteem issue and enter his second character transformation. Maybe that prideful desire of becoming a hero is also going to manifest into his pride authority later on once he gain the witch factor either. That’s just my speculation but I think it’s fit quite well with how thing are going. Subaru already learn [Humility] for over a year so now is the perfect time for him to regain [Pride] and learn to maintain but not to be corrupt by it.
While I understand your point I think the general writing is too critical of Subaru, that guy has already done so much, who is a hero if not him? I would prefer it if we actually got another action-packed Arc like Arc 5, because Subaru already has developed so much, he is a friendly, hard-working dude, just let that dude rest
@@bilaldemir8712 Why not both? It’s not that hard to tie the action, suffering and growth together in a war setting arc like this. And do you really think he would get to rest in this arc? This is clearly just a set up and I’m sure Tappei won’t let him off the hook either. If he’s going to suffer anyway, then he’ll definitely grow from it. Also, isn’t it kinda similar to arc 3 & arc 4 which is connected and causing Subaru a whole lot of suffering in a short period of time because his character development of the 2 arcs need to happen in a close amount of time to work best. Also, I’m not a sucker for Subaru’s suffering, I just see some flaw in his character being pointed out as usual so I want to see him overcoming them. Subaru is already a hero in others’ eye, he just needs to see himself that way.

I'm planning on reading Ex 5 once yen press grace us with a translation but I don't think it'll happen anytime soon.
at the moment we have the web novels chapters and hopefully a season 3 of the anime to look forward to (which I've heard they ran into production issues, not sure of how accurate the info tho)

You mean Priscilla - Ana was arc 6. Arc 5 was kind of all of them, arc 4 Emilia, arc 3 Crusch. Arc 8 is supposed to be Felt.

Yeah, she wasn't her usual self for most of arc 6 but it was a cooperation with her faction and we got a lot of development for Julius, and Ana in the end. So I still think it counts as the Ana faction arc. 7 will be Priscilla faction, 8 Felt.

Meta-text as in the author's decisions to structure the story the way he does, and execute the story elements the way he does (like how the first 4 episodes explore the life of an adventurer after they've finished, which stories tend not to).
Yeah, there's definitely a lot you can do with meta-analysis - like I have a lot of respect for how Maganote manages to make Rudy so incredibly cringe through the use of first person POV, while it still making sense that he doesn't appear that way to anybody else. Through the dialogue you see the person he wants to be and the way the other characters see him, then through his narration you see that he's always saying super cringey stuff like all the euphemisms he uses for his penis... It's pretty clever writing, but a lot of people just take it as a bunch of pervy stuff. Oddly enough, the sex scenes are all fade-to-black and not graphic at all, so while there's a lot of talk of pervy things, it's just how characters are seeing the world around them, it's not for the purposes of titillating the audience. I'm really looking forward to making some videos about it.

I have been enjoying arc 7 its not as good as arc 6 yet but this arc is still ongoing so that might change. Rem character is interesting i cannot wait to see her character grow more later on, I'm sure that ami rem and rem are going to fuse like arc 6 Subaru did otherwise it not going to be good character develop for rem if tappei just makes her forget everything that make rem who she is this will most likely get over her inferior complex and let my boy subaru get hugs from rem and as many lap pillows from her after all the hell he went through to save her. Im hoping in this arc if Subaru can find a way to get rid of gluttony authoity that made everyone forget Rem also Louis is going to be interested I'm sure she going to die so Subaru can gain the gluttony factor from her, the one thing im wondering is she going remain in this child like state or is the real louis going to come back and Al is sus its going to be interested to see what he's up to. There is mention in the latest chapter about a Hoshiyomi (星詠み) ("stargazer") who predicts what will happen tomorrow for the good of the Empire of Vollachia and not necessarily for Vincent. They only talk about the person briefly so it is no doubt something we'll come across later on in the arc. This is one more mystery to add to the list for this arc. Who will it be? Someone new or someone we know? Will it be Pandora, Roswaal, Capella or some new character? Perhaps they see tomorrow by gazing at the stars or perhaps they read it in a gospel... All I'm thinking is.... Oh ssshhhiiiiiii...... This is going to be bad... Like getting into a giant blender with an Al-igator and a Capella-dile... or worse...

Yeah, I'm reading the LNs/WN at the moment and it's really good. I know most people would probably prefer anime only content but I really prefer knowing the source material when I talk about a series in depth, iykwim.
Also I know a lot of people think arc 7 has a slow start but I don't really see it that way - it's taking a long time to get to the meat and potatoes of the plot but there was a lot of stuff happening in the early chapters, and new characters being introduced. It was, to me, a lot more engaging than the start of arcs 4 and 6 where you knew where they were going to go but they had to faff around for ages before actually going there...
Have you ever thought about doing videos on writing? As someone editing my own manuscript to try and get published, I would enjoy to hear more of your thoughts on the issue.
I have thought about it, and it's something I'd like to do, but still tying it into LNs specifically. There are a thousand author channels out there and I don't really want to run a second channel, so I would need to keep it relevant to my general niche. But, I think there's actually a lot you can learn about writing from the Japanese industry, and I've always liked reading stuff that wasn't originally written in English because I have a tendency to kind of mimic styles I've read without meaning to (probably a habit from being a ghostwriter and needing to be able to write whatever style I was hired to), and I find that doesn't really happen with translations, so I can focus on the story choices rather than the word choices, iykwim...
@@NatalieXHunter I know I don't read new stuff when I write for the same reason. I think that happens to a lot of authors, no doubt more so with ghost writers. However, discussing story structure and stuff I find fascinating. I know I particularly like Brandon Sanderson's lectures on youtube. As for your niche, I totally get it, and I know how brutal the algoryth can be. It's just something I thought I would express interest in. *looks at other monitor* back to editing. :)

Nah, the moment Abel ordered Natsumi to burn the flag of Vollachia, we should've expected that to stay.
It makes sense, because he's famous as Natsuki Subaru and he isn't supposed to be in Vollachia, but Natsumi is an alter ego he has used before which his allies know about, so if Natsumi's antics become famous enough to reach Lugunica, they'll know it's him.

I'm not caught Up with Arc 7 but it was too goofy for the invasion part. Felt like a One Piece arc. The forest part was actually really good.
That's re zero for you, most of the fights involving Subaru are kinda goofy in several aspects, it is for me a good way to equipoise the heavy psychological scenes.

I don't know about that. Unless there is a sin archbishop of pride, the only archbishop still at large is Capella (Regulus, Lye and Geuse are dead, Sirius and Roy are captured, and Louis is with Subaru and possibly not herself), and I think she'll be more of a factor in arc 8 which will focus on the Felt camp, where both she and Felt are connected to the Lugunican royal family.

It's about a group of adventurers that find themselves working together.
The main 2 focuses of the book are Belladonna and Clera.
Belladonna is a Dark Elf druid who left her grove to try to "redeem" Dark Elves by becoming a hero. Though her kindness and naivety and lack of social skills tend to make it harder for her.
Clera is the Bastard of the Emprorer's daughter. She's a knight that is brash, impulsive and angry. Her relationship with her mother is a toxic one. As they only saw each other a few times and her mom showed no love for her.
There's also all the side characters, but I don't wanna reveal everything XD

I feel like this batch of the arc had a slow start to it which I wasnt a fan of. But I am not an author or good at english lit analysis so lots of things probably went over my head. Still a great arc.
I really felt like it has the least slow start of the last few arcs (like, it took a while for it to become clear what the story was going to be about but at least stuff was happening, rather than just whole chapters of Subaru saying goodbye to Petra and whatnot!).
@@NatalieXHunter for me the part of the arc after Priscilla was a bit slow. Though that could just be me. Yeah the opening was great especially the lack of Petra.
I know this is unrelated but I have theory that reinhard will become the sinarcbhchop of pride he is the strongest but the most humble maybe pandora will manipulate him, he will also become free from his divine protections. That just my crack theory.
I don't think that can happen, given you can't have an authority and a divine protection, and he has all the divine protections! I mean, maybe he could get the authority and lose all of his divine protections, including the sword saint, but it would take some very strange events for that to happen (he could be forced to, I suppose).

Ah, I see - I need to catch up on all the stuff they've been translating lately - I saw Jake's videos about some of the side stories but haven't actually read them yet, or the stuff Ice translated from the Aganau IF, where I've been trying to get through all of Mushoku Tensei lately.

No, this is based on the web novel. There are fan translations for most of arc 7 so far and then for the newest chapters I actually read machine translations when they first come out to figure out what is going on, then read the human translations from Witch Cult Translations once they're done.

How dose REM come back. The big problem I had with the original series was they erased REM from the story like she never existed. I could explain why I liked REM; but this is not the place.

I actually like the way Tappei wrote Rem out of the story and how he brought her back(Tsunderem is best Rem)
It's kinda boring so far. I don't really care about Vollachia and compared to usual, the mystery aspect falls a bit short.

Yeah, I'd already read 34, I just made a mistake and said 33. There's nothing in the video that specifically spoils 34 so I just left it that way. But in any case, my videos are all scripted in advance so sometimes what I wrote is out of date by the time I've recorded it and edited the video.
