Also if you didn't know Ryan Ross (former original guitarist and MAIN LYRICIST AT THE TIME HE WROTE ALL THE LYRICS TO THE FIRST ALBUM) started this band with Spencer Smith (former original drummer) when they were very young and also childhood best friends and at the time it was just them and they named the band Pet Salamander' (LOL) and were a blink-182 cover band. Over time a guy named Brent Wilson (later replaced by bassist Jon walker in 2006) knew Brendon Urie and invited him to band practice as a guitarist. Ryan WAS the singer until he was out one day and Brendon tried singing and from there on out he was the lead singer of the band and also the only original band members from the main four (including Jon, Ryan, Spencer and Brendon) then fans were devastated because of the departure of Ryan and Jon in 2009 (in 2010 the two started there own band called The Young Veins) Spencer soon after stopped tour in 2013 eventually Spencer left OFFICIALLY in 2015. Fun fact: The Intro was an exposition for the album. The one you can hear the easiest is the Breakdown/bridge trumpet part for there's a good reason ... at 20 seconds in the intruduction And the reson behind the long and confusing song titles (or at least one of them) nicely represents the alternative scene around that time: 1. It was about being true to oneself but also being different than anybody else and so long song titles almost made sure that nobody else would have the same song title and if they did they most definitely stole that. And 2. The alternative scene back then didn't like the mainstream too much and so as the mainstream artist tried to make their song titles short and closely related to the song itself, alternative musicians did the opposit. In parts to make sure only people who are really interested listen to their music and in parts because it was kind of an inside joke because many of the big alternative bands back then did it so if you listened to alternative and pople would ask you what you were listening to they'd be very confused. Also yeah, for some weird reason many alternative musicians and fans (even more now then back in the 2000s) really like Jazz, Big Band arrangements and everything around that.

I love your reactions, all the members were about 17-18 years old when they made the album and were discovered by Pete Wentz I suggest you do some of the live versions of the songs. Ryan Ross (guitarist and lyricist for the first two albums) and Brendon sound amazing together. Ryan sings a lot in Pretty. Odd. And his voice complements Brendon's very well.

It is interesting seeing how they started compared to now and how they evolved their sound. It's the reason why I love Panic! At The Disco so much because the sound they create is so different from each album since they started back in 2004.

PLEAAAAASE do the black parade or danger days by My Chemical Romance, both have an interesting story but The Black Parades is amazing! Danger Days is more energetic but The Black Parade is very dramatic and theatrical, and emotional.

Maybe try the Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die Album by Panic! ....or even The Youngblood Chronicles for the Save Rock and Roll Album for Fall Out Boy. See if you can recognize any of those. It’s such a different sound from Death of Bachelor, but I think both albums use a lot of the same elements, just in different ways. Ryan Ross was the lyricist and Brendan Urie was the main composer for the first album. I believe Brendan started writing lyrics for the band on the 2nd album. Ryan left after the 2nd album, which is when Brendan started writing everything.
I have to be honest. I just finished filming Pretty. Odd. and I’m beyond disappointed. The departure was more than apparent. It’ll be up soon, but I just know this is going to be the episode I lose people over 😔😓

Great reaction! I haven’t listened to this album yet but I will definitely check it out because I liked what I heard from this video! It’s such a different sound from Death of Bachelor, but I think both albums use a lot of the same elements, just in different ways. Like you, I was also introduced to P!ATD through a later album (Too Weird To Live Too Rare To Die) and now I’m working my way through all the rest. I’m loving it so far though and I’m glad you are too!

The Tune Up i understand ur point (pretty odd wasnt there best album) but at the age of 17 Ryan Ross wrote this entire album. Yes Brendon wrote the other albums but this one was all Ryan

Ryan Ross was the lyricist and Brendan Urie was the main composer for the first album. I believe Brendan started writing lyrics for the band on the 2nd album. Ryan left after the 2nd album, which is when Brendan started writing everything.
I have to be honest. I just finished filming Pretty. Odd. and I’m beyond disappointed. The departure was more than apparent. It’ll be up soon, but I just know this is going to be the episode I lose people over 😔😓
