Same system is on Skoda rapid, you put it on the same way you put it off, you just install it facing it more to you and then you just turn it to the centre so it clicks, this video actually helped me so thanks!!
Fun fact, Ford lanekeeping cameras in the 2010s used the same mounting system. It was a slightly different shape, but the two are interchangable. Ford mirrors even have holes in the casting for the specific retainer VW used, despite Ford not using them.

Hello , I own a Golf 5 Fsi (2004-2009). I have a problem with my car and I would like to get your thoughts on this problem. This fault persists for a short time and then disappears. "P0420 - 002 - Efficiency Below Threshold - MIL ON" error appears when I stop the vehicle and turn the ignition off when the engine is hot and restart the engine for the first time. Then this error disappears. This check engine light will only appear on the first start after the car is turned off when the engine is warm.
2019 VW atlas cannot get the arm with ball back on mirror bc of the ring and the clips that make it tighter all around back to the mirror ugh tried flat head to pry with another person also ughhh
