    Stumbled upon your channel today, and you sure do bring back lots of memories! I am a mother of 5, 4 adults 33yrs-27yrs, and a 13 yr old. The two youngest is my husbands children from a previous marriage, but they are my kids too.
    My 3 oldest I raised with my ex, whom is from Iraputo, Guanjuato Mexico. My children grew up eating mexican foods their whole life. When I remarried 5 yrs ago to a white man and we moved due to his job 700 miles from my children I stopped cooking like that as my husband prefers differnt types of meals and whats the point of only cooking them for myself!
    You have my mouth watering with these videos!!
    Luckily we are moving back home and will be minutes from my children in just a few months. They have already been making plans!!! Yes all the plans are around family dinners and me doing a whole lot of mexican cooking!! Above all the kids want to get together to make tamales which as you know is a family affair to make them all!! They wanting booth savory qnd sweet tamales!
    First 3 yrs living here my daughter would call every few days for a new recipe as she had to now learn how to makes their meals herself. She was a sweatheart and cooked for her brothers too as they missed their mamas food. But now all three are making a running list of all the meals to be made for them 😂. I sure do miss them and our family meals togther, cant wait!!
    Yo top it off, mexican cuisine are so frugal and even more so when you grow a garden and raise your own meat. Cause you just need the basic staples.

      Wow! Thanks for sharing. Mexican food is frugal but full of flavor. Making tamales is art 😆. And it is a frugal meal is just takes forever lol
      But have you watch my video on how to cook them in the microwave? Ofcourse they don't taste the same but very close and in just 2min. Check the videos about tamales I give a top here and there. Thanks for watching.

      @@mexicancookingwithgaby6589 I have not yet, that would be interesting to try out. Will definitely look it up, watch and try it out, thank you.
      Have you tried canning tamales?!
      My kids missing my tamales especially around holidays, so I saw where someone else had been making them up and placing them in quart jars (the steaming process is done in the jars) and processing them that way and they was shelf stable. Gave it a try and they was awesome, so made many quarts for my kids, along with lots of different salsas and canned those too and took them down to my kids on a trip back to see them. They was in heaven.

    Wondering if it is the same price to get a rotisserie chicken from Costco or Sam's and breaking it down instead of the legs as might yield the same?

    • @mexicancookingwithgaby6589
      @mexicancookingwithgaby6589  11 месяцев назад +1

      I don't think so. I have done that to but the rotisserie chicken and the most t that I can get is around 3-4 meals if I stretch it. Unless you get them like in very very cheap deal then yes. Sometimes Costco will have them for like $2bucks then yes it's way better this one but not always. But definitely I love cooking with rotisserie chicken. I even have a video on that check it out.
