I love watching his video's as I study, watch, learn and practice the techniques he shows. I have personally tested his techniques in my training and they have all worked. I'm so glad there is English dubbed voice on these videos. I have also shared the knowledge learned from these video's with other practitioners with me to help them get better as well.

Yes front kick is awesome, and this is good, especially his description of how to conceal the movement, and the support foot orientation is important, this guy is good but you need to practice so much that you never have to think about anything, just hit the target

Excellent explanation of how to kick Mae-gari effectively. The best Mae-gari I witnessed in kumite was by Barry Edelman. He was so fast that I sometimes felt his kick before I realized he had moved. The absence of push off with the kicking foot is crucial.

Many years after finishing karate training, I was attacked by a large shape which appeared suddenly at head height in a near dark lane. I instinctively hit it with a mae geri and my attacker went down. It was a large alsatian dog which when its owner was identified, went on to spend the next two nights in a veterinary hospital with fractured ribs. It is the only time I have ever needed to use karate.

When I did karate in the early 70s for about 8 years .I often missed the target with mae geri .But I sort of developed a hop mae geri which most guys found hard to block .I would sort of hop / step in with my right foot ,and simultaneously kick with my left .I used to gain about a foot of extra space doing that ,and my toes were protected from the block .I learnt it off another guy in competition after I fractured my big toe when he blocked my kick .

With all respects, as by Goju-ryu the short distance kick is made in a slightly rearward angle of the hip, using the legs only. THe farthr we kick the more forward push to the rear hip forward is applied. Were our teachers mistaken?Paul,69, former Goju-ryu practitioner.

see Lyoto Machida, Stephen Thompson, Michael Venom Page, Robert Whittaker and Katsunori Kikuno, all of them are MMA champions with a very strong background in karate, what's more, karate offers great distance control, variety of kicks and counter attacks for MMA, that's why 40% of fighters (both male and female) in the UFC have an influence on karate and others just incorporate some techniques of the art into their training
