If I were to look at anybody, I would look at who Jake's roommate, Jeff, was in that trailer. Place is a mess, like it was ransacked, the day after Jake goes missing (window punched out, holes in the walls), all his stuff (guns, computer, etc. anything valuable that he had) gone...and the roommate claims he didn't do or hear or see a thing and just woke up the next morning and everything was ransacked or gone???? Come on! He either did it, or he knows who did it and was told to pretend he slept thru it. Especially with the trailer "coincidentally" catching fire from a nearby truck very soon after. And his stimulus checks being cashed. He was due in court to fight for custody of his daughter (doesn't sound like they were married)...maybe his baby mama's boyfriend and/or his friends were involved? I'm surprised that Jake's mom is so isolated from the family that it took 5 years for the aunt of Jake to admit that she had his crutches and he said he didn't need them anymore, and his mom is accusing his aunt of lying to her...which I don't see. I trust the 911 calls...yes, it makes sense if one call is from a CB radio and another from the actual phone...there'd be no reason why a trucker passing by would lie. I would have looked into that gray car and the person talking to Jake on that bridge...maybe the gray car guy asked to meet with Jake at that time & (I'll meet you at the bridge at this time in the middle of the night) place, things went bad (could have been a drug deal or really any disagreement) and he shoved Jake into the river? Since it was in 2014 and no break in the case for 10 years...maybe won't ever...sadly, sometimes if someone is young, poor, by himself in life...I think sometimes LE finds it's easier to just say it's a suicide. That way there's no effort in investigating, and it's case closed. I hope Jake's mom finds the answers she is searching for, and they find the guy who did this. God bless.
There are so many issues with what you postulate, I don't even know where to begin. I think you misunderstood some of what John said and should watch this video again.
My immediate thought on listening to the two calls was that they were made by the same person when I heard the voice. It was like he had tried to make his voice sound different on the 2nd call but same person imo. Thanks for highlighting this case. I hope his mum gets some information soon. Greetings from Scotland 🏴
Its the not knowing thats the worst bit i truly hope she finds out the ahswers that she is looking for and the fate of her son no mother should have to go through this sort of torture
Maybe the second call was due to first caller not trusting the cops to come check it out. And if the bridge responsible shuffle happens Im sure the locals know this. Making it a great place to do something terrible and not have much effort come from Law enforcement.

I've seen a couple of videos on this case. I think it's pretty obvious that law enforcement sees this as a suicide so they don't see any reason to do more investigation, I don't see it as a suicide, it seems like foul play was involved to me. The 911 calls are suspicious, it doesn't make sense that when Jake's mother called the number back the person would say that they didn't know what she was talking about. I don't think that's a phone call you could forget that you made. Also his personal belongings missing from the trailer and signs of a struggle there point to foul play in my opinion. I hope one day his mom does find answers that will bring her peace.
Why do you say that? He was sitting on the railing of the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River. You can't park on the bridge. He was seen sitting on the railing of the interstate bridge. He either fell or jumped.
This sounds like a cover up. Sadly the room mate Jeff and his Aunt seem to know something. Why would the Aunt have his crutches and say that is why they are in the shed. Someone in his family must also be involved. Sadly with the cigarettes they found they should have checked Walmart for footage to see who bought them. It would have been interesting to see if he was spotted on any footage. The police should be ashamed.
Lmao you’re seriously alleging that this man’s aunt and roommate were in cahoots to kill him and police for whatever reason assisted in a cover up? Get real.
@@Tsumami__ I'm saying something doesn't sound right. It does sounds like a cover up. Don't think it doesn't happen. The police may not have been happy he didn't get jail time for his crime. Something is crazy with the room mate. I'm not saying his Aunt did something but maybe she knew something. Does she have kids that would be cousins that could have been involved. I had a broken ankle that needed surgery and I wasn't going anyway in 2 weeks before my surgery without crutches and the boot. For the boot to be left in the home and his Aunt to have his crutches that seems very strange. We don't know what happened but if the police have nothing to hide let the family see the files and the work that was done. Because to them the case is closed so the only reason you are not letting the family know is cover up or bad work that was done with the case.

Not really. Sounds exactly like a middle aged, blue collar African American man from the Louisiana/Mississippi Gulf Coast. Even the way he pronounces Rouge (Ruge) is common among the Black community in Southeast Louisiana to Southwest Mississippi.
@@wag5576 not just the blaccent that has me questioning, it's the words too: on a 911 call he gives his job title? Just something not right about it at all to me.
@@LeifGrahamsson Honestly, it doesn’t really sound that strange to me. I’m from South Louisiana, and work with people from all other the state, and his words just seem to me like someone who is a little nervous about talking to a 911 operator, not because he’s guilty, but because he’s unaccustomed to making calls like that. I talk on phones and radios all the time to people who sound exactly like the caller. Nothing sounds off about it to my ears, but I could be wrong.
To me, it seems that he was killed in his trailer (maybe he caught the burglars in flagranti), then one of the involved burglars took his truck to dispose of the body, the other guy followed with a grey car. They drove to the bridge, got out and briefly exchanged ideas on how to proceed. One of the witnesses probably saw the two guys and thought one of them was Jake. Then they threw him over the railing into the river. Maybe the truck driver just saw a human fall off the bridge and figured it must be someone who jumped. When you watch something like that, you pay attention mostly to the person falling and don't necessarily look at the bridge, so he missed the guys. After that, they both drove off in the gray car. Perhaps one of them was Jeff.
No, he was last seen sitting on the railing of the bridge. He either fell or jumped, probably jumped because you don't stop on the massive I-10 bridge over the Mississippi. Look up the bridge, the Mississippi is a gigantic river and the bridges are huge. He didn't even have car trouble.
i see 2 likely possibilities: 1) he fell accidentally while he was seated on the railing. it wasn’t intentional, wasn’t to take his life, he was just perched on the railing enjoying a cigarette and maybe scouting a fishing spot for his upcoming trip, or 2) jake was never on that bridge, or at least not alive. something happened at his trailer, and to cover it up a scene was staged where one of the assailants pretended to be jake hanging out on the bridge, then, after they were certain they’d been spotted by at least one cop car and maybe another motorist, pulled Jake’s body out (maybe from the gray car) and launched it into the river, then called in a bridge jumper to 9-11. these are what make the most sense to me, and in either version he ended up in the river, and it’s almost impossible to recover a body from there, especially this far out.
The bridge he jumped or fell from was the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River, it is an interstate bridge with nowhere to park. His truck was blocking the interstate lane. Nobody in their right mind would do that. The vehicle was left running. He jumped.
He’s been missing since 2014 but stimulus checks were collected? How did that happen, exactly? We got stimulus checks based on our taxes from the year prior, if he’s been missing (likely deceased by suicide) since 2014, he would have no use of his social security number or file any taxes for 6 years prior to the pandemic. Is she sure about that? The first 911 call sounds a little odd, like someone else commented it it almost sounds like the caller is trying to effect a fake accent. It gives me a weird feeling. Could that person be the same who had stopped and talked to him but didn’t want to get involved because they were concerned he was considering jumping? It does seem strange he would buy multiple packs of cigarettes if he was planning on jumping, but as a smoker, I know a lot of gas stations will try to goad you into buying a 2 or 3 pack deal, and he may have just not cared knowing he was on his way out and said okay to the cashier. On the other hand, what if he was drinking a little that night, grabbed some cigarettes, and stopped along the bridge to look at a fishing spot. Maybe he was drunk (maybe not, maybe just tired of hobbling on an injured foot) and sat up on the side because of the broken foot, and he didn’t actually jump but accidentally fell over the side. There’s no 911 call from the person who allegedly actually saw him fall or jump in, just the call from the other trucker that overheard the person who did see it on the CB radio. Odd they wouldn’t have called it in themselves, if they saw someone actually jump or fall over the railing. I may not call someone just sitting on the rail of a bridge in, if it’s an area people normally stop cars to fish at, or pedestrians walk over the bridge regularly, but if I saw someone actually freaking jump in, pretty sure I would get off the CB radio and call it into 911.
I suppose there is a possibility the two 911 calls and the person in the grey car are all the same person, the first call being the initial attempt to get police to come out, the second call trying to change the sound of their voice and once again trying to get police to come out since they didn’t respond to the first call. But that seems unlikely. Sounds like the bridge was a route a lot of truckers took and multiple people saw him that night. Also how would this person or persons gain access to his trailer? How would they know where he even lived? If he was killed at the home and then dumped over the side of the bridge, why would there be multiple people who saw him sitting on the railing, and mostly alone, other than the one sighting of a car that was stopped near his? It does seem bizarre the roommate wouldn’t have heard anything if there was a window broken and holes in the walls, while simultaneous saying none of that stuff was there before, it just appeared like that after he went to bed and woke up the next day after his roommate goes over the side of a bridge. The two calls on the podcast were two different people with different southern accents. He was on the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River, a huge bridge. His truck was blocking the interstate. He jumped.
I suggest you Google the bridge before making a decision that he was murdered. It was the I-10 bridge over the Mississippi River, it's humongous. He left his truck blocking the interstate lane.
