“A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored.”
The Chosen One, Anakin Skywalker, was always meant to be the most powerful force user in history. The one who would finally bring balance to the force and destroy the Sith. However, not everything turned out exactly how the Jedi saw the prophecy coming to fruition.
While Anakin was the chosen one, he would venture down a multiple decades long path where he strayed far from the light of the Jedi until making his way back through the courage and love of his son, Luke. And while his time as Darth Vader is where we learn much of his life, his time spent as the Jedi Knight, Anakin Skywalker is what we are going to focus on today.
We’re going to go through Anakin’s life from his birth all the way until his death, with a detour around his years as the emperor’s most deadly enforcer, Darth Vader, to determine just how powerful the chosen one truly was. We’re skipping the Sith portion of his life as I already have a 40 minute video discussing his entire time as deadly Sith Apprentice.
Additionally, I will be only covering material that is considered canon, so no sources prior to the Expanded Universe becoming Legends. We’ll be strictly focusing on the canon version of the character… and with all that said - How Powerful is Anakin Skywalker?

Imagine if he trained more in the force in his earlier years and not basically solely focus on lightsaber training, he would have been OP. Hope one day we get a "What if" series on star wars from Disney one day would be so cool.
???? you're assuming he didn't? he was pretty equal in his prowess as a swordsman and a force user. and they grew together, he wasn't just great at one and mediocre in the other like someone like kyp durron being on luke skywalkers level in the force but not with a lightsaber or corran horn being a great duelist but mediocre force user, anakin was incredible at both.
@bigbootyboy132 yes anakin was very impressive with the force but that's only because of his natural affinity. For example prime anakin at the end of revenge of the sith was equal in force ability to obi wan, this is illustrated by the fact they force push eachother and they are equal. The fact anakin who has the greatest connection to the force out of anyone who has ever lived was equal to obi wan shows he was slacking in force ability training.
@@micejoint132 anakin in both canon and legends focused more on dueling than training with the force. His inherent connection to the force is what made him strong without much training into it.

So, he can just step out of the force, wipe out anyone he wants, and then go back to chill? And they say Anakin didn't realize his full force potential. That feat with enemies Luke couldn’t defeat at his best sounded like solid proof of Anakin’s superiority over Star Wars.
Luke couldn't defeat the wraiths because they were incorporeal. He was stronger and more skilled than they were, but he couldn't hurt them.

Light side anakin could only happen if qui gon jin had lived and trained him. He would have accepted anakin's need for attachment and anakin could have brought balance to the force by pursuading the Jedi of the importance of love and attachment instead of having to kill them all to hit the reset button.
I know the scene was deleted, but Lucas did film a segment where Anakin kills one of the greatest duelists of the order with one hand while force choking another Jedi lol.

Honestly Anakin is better off staying in light side as a Jedi or leave the order because him turning to the dark side didn’t benefit him at all in the long run. Anakin has the potential to change the jedi order similar how Luke did in the expanding universe if he just tell the council about his visions or to Obi wan things could have different. Also be interesting story if he had survived after return of the jedi to following the long path to atonement help Luke rebuild the Jedi order and heal the galaxy for the things he had done.
Actually Lucas intended to have Anakin and Obi-Wan return to the living after Luke first sees them as ghosts (Yoda remaining behind as he believes he can be of more help as one with the force). Obviously that would be awkward seeing an 80 year old (Sabastian Shaw) as prime Anakin and 60+ year old Alec Guiness as prime Obi-Wan knowing now they can appear in any form they chose from their life. If that scene had been shot as intended I'm sure Lucas would have just reshot the part with Hayden and Ewan. Would love love love to have an Anakin/Obi-Wan movie with those 2 having done just that.....the REAL Episode 7. Oh and Anakin now has a power to bring Padme back and boom...the band is back together.

15:15, These living stone giants were made of a material with an extremely massive Force presence, which in the context of that particular story seems to have been there to justify Yoda’s power being strong enough to affect objects of that size (something he wouldn’t be able to do normally), while the ground-cracking, asteroid-shaking laughter seems somewhat of a hyperbolic statement than anything else (moreso, due to the fact that the environment around the giant isn’t violently exploding due destructive waves of force moving fast enough to reach asteroids orbiting the planet).
17:43, It should be noted that the massive Kyber crystal is what is generating the light blast that is injuring and killing everyone in the room but Vader and Sidious. Palpatine resists it due to his power, while Vader is incapacitated by it, but its not Palpatine himself generating this star-destroying energy nor does crystal alone have the power to destroy stars, as the rest of the Final Orders cannons channel energy through it that it then amplifies (as with other Kyber-imbued weapons).
Other than that, Anakin’s failure to access his potential the way Yoda and Palpatine did there’s can be seen as a symptom of his personality being very different from either of them. Whereas they both were fully focused and committed to their respective goals and purposes, Anakin was constantly hampered by his doubts over his place in the grand scheme of things and, as Vader, his shame over how his actions destroyed not only his life, but the lives of so many across the galaxy. His career as a soldier protecting the Republic and then as a military enforcer policing them Empire were a distraction from his insecurities, but would never allow him to gain the focus he would have needed to achieve all he could have on either side of the Force. This is quite perfect for his character as just with Maul before him, his ego and tendency for uncontrolled emotion meant it didn’t matter how much power or potential he had if lacked the control or the mindset necessary to harness it properly.

How do we know that Vader was taking the full force of a star or even a planet destroying amount of energy, wouldn’t Ochi get vaporized? Wouldn’t Exagol get vaporized? Also Sidious saying he’s all the Sith isn’t in reference to him having the power of all the Sith, as the Sith can’t persist after death in the way that certain Jedi can, same with Rey she has equal midichlorion potential to living Palpatine, so she didn’t need the extra power from the Jedi, it’s bad writing, but making sense of the quotes it’s just them saying they’re the only Jedi and Sith left
I agree with the Kyber thing but I think the All The Jedi thing is a clear boost and we know Sidious is at his prime here

It’s also confirmed in multiple sources that Sidious and Rey were channeling all the power of the Sith and Jedi respectively.

Everything would go the same but instead of losing to Kenobi, they would tie and something happens to where they have to stop fighting. Anakin(Vader) leaves with palp getting stronger in the dark side. Eventually breaks off from Palp and becomes a 3rd player in Star Wars. So many game and movie remakes.. wonder if they should remake the star wars movies but change little things to make it new.

For full potential Anakin I'd use legends grandmaster Luke as a benchmark
4:28 The comic clearly shows that it was Palpatine who manipulated the midichlorians to create Anakin. So, in canon, Maul and Dooku were just place holders until Anakin was of age.

Maul, Ahsoka, Savage, Grievous are stronger than Kenobi.
Maul defeated Dooku who regularly stomps Obi Wan. Dooku even tells Obi Wan that he is weaker on the level Qui Gon. Regarding both his losses to Obi Wan in TPM it's stated that not only was Maul stronger than the combined power of Qui Gon and Obi Wan but that he was toying around during the entire Duel Of Fates and could've killed him easily if he took him seriously. As for Rebels it's stated that Maul was severely weakened and went crazy after searching for Kenobi in the desert.
It's stated that the only characters who can fight Ahsoka are Sidious and Vader.
Like Dooku, Savage (who's weaker than Maul) was able to 1V2 both Anakin and Obi Wan.
Throughout the Clone Wars and in ROTS Grievous has been shown overpowering Kenobi and defeated him in their duel, and only lost because Obi Wan used The Force.

In The New Canon in The Beginning of The film Attack of The Clones I would give Anakin a Jedi Holocron and a Sith Holocron so His Episode 3 Lightsaber has a Green Blade.
So basically Anakin while alive had the power output of a star to possibly low universal power on mortis.
Id love to get your breakdown on Revan. Mostly cause I am a huge Revan fanboy, but also because I view him as the Anakin of his time, capable of both sides of the Force, mastering himself in a way only Anakin did. dooku beat mace in duels before. yoda doubted mace could fight dooku at the beginning of the clone wars but after mace got battle hardened, yoda thought mace stood a chance. dooku also started slowing down in his older age. the “dooku said he couldn’t beat mace” is always taken out of context. it was dooku being chased by multiple jedi, including mace. mace used shatterpoint to find out he could end the clone wars by killing dooku. but he couldn’t actually beat dooku.

2. Yoda never said Mace couldn’t beat Dooku in canon
3. Dooku wasn’t slowing down at all that’s just blatantly false

@KeyIssues not a clear victory for Dooku, but it's clear he's a step ahead of Windu when they fought on Ridlay. Dooku lands the first clean hit, plays expert defense even when Windu has a purpose amp, and the whole time Dooku is playing defense he is antagonizing and revealing his Plan to Windu.

Anakin is knightfall has already surpassed them as the canon book Skywalker family at war. Calls him stronger. " he couldn't blame palpatine who had helped him to become more powerful who had held him back". Also mace does have the anti feat of losing to darth Maul in a 2 v 1 with aayla in the son of dathomir comic which is canon and dooku shows superiority to said maul so at least he should be above mace. As his statement of being the strongest was early war and anakin grew more.
1. Knightfall is Darth Vader who was amped by the dark side, not Anakin.
2. Mace didn't lose that duel, he was knocked out by an explosion fired by someone outside of the duel. Mace wasn't tagged by Maul once.

Wasted potential. All of his descendants surpasssed him in Legends. In canon his legacy was erased by Rey and Sidious' return. Anakin was weaker than Armored Vader. Yes he did have the potential to be one of the most powerful force users rivalling the Ones and Abeloth... but he NEVER reached that potential.

My opinion Vader should honestly be below Anakin as movies alone he doesn't do that much to be impressive and narratively it makes more sense Vader lost so much that even his power he use to have is far from his reach but disney will not let that happen. Like it feels weird and wrong Luke somehow got stronger than his old man in 4 years while his old man had 13 years to get strong

@@astar2641 bro Anakin is my favorite character for my own personal reasons and I can sympathize with him. Him and the Skywalkers besides many other EU characters are my favorite so save all that bs. They started in their old fighting stances to throw Dooku off. I read them all bro. Dooku lightsaber had the ability to switch length without going out and he could have had used that to kill Anakin or wound him. Dooku was instructed after Geonosis to not harm Anakin fatally or cut off anymore of his limbs even though palpatine loved he cut his arm off because it benefitted Anakin. He had to go wash all the way until the last duel where he didn't want to die but found it was far too late at that point when Anakin actually tapped to far into the dark side after obi wan was hurt and unconscious. It was all over at that point.

Rey Skywalker is more powerful based on movie feats which are the ultimate canon. She could easily kill Vader/Anakin with force lightning and has been shown to be able to lift objects way heavier than anything we have seen from Vader/Anakin and also is able to channel spirits of all former jedi and so would be able to use their skills to out-duel Vader/Anakin as well. She really has more claim to being the chosen one in Disney Canon
