Well Jeff, you might be overjoyed at the removal of all those "aids to performance", but you must realize that someone somewhere that spent a lot of time and very little money is grieving the appearance demise of that extreme performance Boxster, he knows you've robbed it completely of it's superpower status.
My eyes don't hurt looking at the Roxster now Jeff lol. Great improvement looks decent now.. Less is definitely more. I also agree taking time out off the builds helps clear the head. .. As it's been one thing after the other on that car. Good stuff 👍
I legit was watching you take off the door stops and said "That looks like a door stop" then you showed the words that said it was sin fact a door stop. I almost spit out my coffee. What in the world were they thinking
Jeff! Thank god you took all that stuff off! Sooooo much better……. One bit left! The red boxer badge on rear! Haha it’s gotta go too or spray it Matt black…… keep the vids coming 👍👍👍
That's probably the most rewarding work you've done on the roxter, with the least effort! If you're keeping the door stops you could incorporate them into a set of chocks for wedging the wheels after a track session, leaving brakes to cool after slowing the V8 power 👍
you could almost hear it screaming thankyou thankyou....You should have done this first Jeff!! Everything would have gone soooooo much easier...That car hated what they had done...remember that for next time, Remember...Cars have Souls!!! ;D
Jeff: Don't forget your 3D printer. For example, print up a few plugs to cover those holes behind the rear wheels. If you have easy access to the back-side, you can even make them with a flange on the inside and if you match the thickness of your bumper cover they could be near flush. Stick them on with the adhesive of your choice. Not invisible, but plenty good for a while and a lot quicker than doing real body work.
Hi Jeff I have a door in my garage that leads to my workshop that I like to prop open sometimes. I was going to buy a door stop but a diffuser would suit the area much better. You can find my details on PFA if I am one of the lucky recipients. Regards "Lucky Phil"
Oh Jeff, I must admit, I cracked a tinnie for this one. Bahahaha! How much lighter is it, i wonder?! Anyway, you've finally removed the pox from the Poxster. Yay! Somewhere in Australia theres a young Asian ex Porsche owner crying...😂
Never understood why people put non factory body kits on cars i even walked away from a 987 when it was time to upgrade my 986 as it had a massive spoiler on boot. Even if air vents in boot had been real they would not of done owt as nowhere near the engine lol. Defo agree Jeff it looks loads better. Can I ask will gt3 rims fit thought the early 986's had a, slightly different chassis layout and would only accommodate 17"rims
Sure looks a butt load better than she used too 👍 Thought you may have used a toffee wheel to remove the adhesive to help save the paint better than what the scotchlock did?
Definitely not the ugliest anymore. I do wonder about the tastes of some people and the costs they’ve spent. Something like a Porsche only needs to be kept clean and shiny. At worst, aftermarket wheels. Good work Jeff. You’ve at least tripled the value of the car (and improved the power to weight ratio).
You lucked out there Jeff, thank the stars that the accoutrements were not stuck on with “Sikaflex” as you alluded to, if they were, your job would have been a lot harder 🤦♂️
Oh do you have the computer raising the rear wing automatically at speed like the stock car would? I forget if the original wing was deactivated by the original owner, but either way I think that was a function of the computer in the car and you've changed that for the audi one.
@@HomeBuiltByJeff Yeah not sure how much it ACTUALLY affects stability/drag at speed, but might be something to consider. At the very least hopefully the motor still works and the spoiler can be raised manually via the console switch.
Would it be impractical to unpick the seam on the lower front sides of the bonnet and slide some ~5mm plate to use as a dolly beneath that crafty hammer work?
The car is so happy that it came to you.
I like that the door stops say “door stop” on them 👍
Oh, you HAVE to mount that bonnet on the wall and wire up the LED's. What a piece of absolute automotive history!
Swap the Stars and striped eagle for a flag draped roo ;)
The wall would require some extra structural supports built in, it weighs a TONNE.
Oh YES! 😂
Well Jeff, you might be overjoyed at the removal of all those "aids to performance", but you must realize that someone somewhere that spent a lot of time and very little money is grieving the appearance demise of that extreme performance Boxster, he knows you've robbed it completely of it's superpower status.
And that someone is YOU! (insert dramatic music here) ^____-
I think I couldn't have left that stuff alone before launching into an engine swap. Good on you for getting your priorities sorted. 👍
Was expecting you to say "In The Bin" on multiple occassions!
I can't believe someone spent money to make it look like that. Looks so much better! Looking forward to door stop comp 😁
As soon as I work out how I am doing it I will let you all know :D
The manufacturer of that body kit should be in jail. Omg
My eyes don't hurt looking at the Roxster now Jeff lol.
Great improvement looks decent now..
Less is definitely more.
I also agree taking time out off the builds helps clear the head.
..
As it's been one thing after the other on that car.
Good stuff
👍
Hey Jeff, would be good to see a scuff and paint weekend paint job on this
Saw the title of this episode. All I could think was “Gunna take a lot of slapping to finish that job” 🤣 Well done mate, looks so much better now!
Or one Will Smith. ... too soon?
@@trapjohnson Never too soon! 🤣
Nice on Jeff, been waiting so long to see that crap go in the bin!!!
Prime candidate for a wrap job - cheaper and easier than painting, changeable on a whim , easily repaired track day scuffs etc etc.
Some much better.. my OCD was majorly triggered by this before… some of your most satisfying work Jeff 😂
Thx Jeff for giving the boxster just a little bit of pride back 😀
Fantastic, that back to front rear spoiler is gone at last 👏 I got a headache every time I saw it 😁😁😁
Good stuff Jeff, a major step in its transformation from a pub crawler to a track beast.
and relax ... finally the ugly's gone. nice work!
I legit was watching you take off the door stops and said "That looks like a door stop" then you showed the words that said it was sin fact a door stop. I almost spit out my coffee. What in the world were they thinking
I was about to make a "You forgot to slap off the horribly eggy headlights" but those people ruined even them... And subsequently my joke! xD
I genuinely anticipated the moment where you chisel off these horrible door stoppers since the 1st time you showed us this car!
I think you should move these eagles' stickers from the fiber bonnet cover to the original one, they will give you some extra hp ;)
Jeff! Thank god you took all that stuff off! Sooooo much better……. One bit left! The red boxer badge on rear! Haha it’s gotta go too or spray it Matt black…… keep the vids coming 👍👍👍
That is the 'Roxster' badge. it has to stay! :D
"IN THE BIN!" - Marty Mighty Car Mods
Wow door stop's lol 😂 it's looking so much better now 👍🏻😀
That's probably the most rewarding work you've done on the roxter, with the least effort!
If you're keeping the door stops you could incorporate them into a set of chocks for wedging the wheels after a track session, leaving brakes to cool after slowing the V8 power 👍
The car even sounded happier when it started... :D
I’ve been looking forward to this since you got it. So satisfying 👍
you could almost hear it screaming thankyou thankyou....You should have done this first Jeff!! Everything would have gone soooooo much easier...That car hated what they had done...remember that for next time, Remember...Cars have Souls!!! ;D

Good point, although I am not too concerned as it is a race car.
I would love to have a doorstop to use here in Texas!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Me too!
"Not doing nice things to this car" is a polite way of saying they were stupid. lol
We all knew they looked like door stops, but I didn't actually realise that they were actually door stops! 🤦🏻♂️😂🤣
Watching this is sooooo satisfying!!
I never thought you'd give up so much of your street cred in just one episode! Hahahaha
finally!!! this car hurt my eyes every times :-D
The people who makes the best suggestions for contests should get doorstops.
Hi Jeff I have a door in my garage that leads to my workshop that I like to prop open sometimes. I was going to buy a door stop but a diffuser would suit the area much better. You can find my details on PFA if I am one of the lucky recipients. Regards "Lucky Phil"
What a improvement 👍🏻
Nice job Jeff, 1,000% better.
The Alloys on the Rockstar are the best bit about it and way more Porsche than the 996 GT3 alloys. Each to their own :)
Race car ;)
I really love those genuine Porsche door stoppers 😍
Jeff there is a gunk wheel you can get that is like a flap disc that removes adhesive off cars - forget what its called, but looks like you managed.
The 'cheese' wheels are probably the best for that but I didn't have one at hand.
Good job Jeff!
Indeed this was a very satisfying thing to watch! Well done
Hooray Jeff!! About blooming time 💩
WOW! Looks so much better!😵
Looks heaps better!
I thought you were joking when you said door stop, my goodness!!
The car looks happier too ... I need me one of those door stops!
You guys have first dibs ;)
Yes …. Frankenstein is released.
I’m surprised the “klingons” stayed on the car so long. A vast improvement though
Yes you need to Raffle the doorstops off .looking good roxstar👍the over bonnet ,wing and side skirts sell ,but keep the arch extenders
Removing the comedy and making the joker a boxster again.
Enfin, c'est cent fois mieux!
Yes it's Look very better wow so many things was total wrong on this Car the Race Car Project can start ❤️👍❤️🌹
People will stop talking about you now Jeff and thank FUCK you have got that crap off
Competition for the doorstops should be 'Guess the first name of the bogan who committed these carcrimes'.
I think it was Abdul.
You can do a video on painting something custom on the carbon fiber bonet and hang it on the wall😉
It was cathartic indeed.
There’s a Lebanese guy in Bankstown crying right now at what you’ve done to his masterpiece
I never noticed before that the rear spoiler is actually fitted backwards :D
It's like undressing a clown. You can actually feel the sigh of relief from Roxster as they come off.
Man, I've been edging for so long.
Jeff, I know you’re a determined man, but even so, I’m not sure you can slap enough ugly off that one! 🤣
Cobra Jeff ... "Fake Carbon does not exist in this Garage" ... "No Sensai"
Good job Jeff; you feel better, we feel better. What philistine fitted this stuff?
Finally, looks so much better! Where did you get the accessories for the Milwaukee angle die grinder btw?
Google 'roloc' ;)
I feel for the spirt of this car... what a hack job done to it... Believe me, it's very happy to be known as Jeff's car.
Well done! Any chance of you weighing all the rubbish you took off?
It would be a good idea, but most of it would have been the sikaflex which was little bits everywhere.
Dammit Jeff. I'm supposed to be sleeping.
I wonder if the person who did all that stuff is watching you rip it all off lol
There's a kit you can get for a boxster that makes it look just like a current GT3RS that I wouldn't mind doing
How much weight did you get rid of? Looks better, goes better. A real win!
Can I ask will gt3 rims fit thought the early 986's had a, slightly different chassis layout and would only accommodate 17"rims
its like someone hit the hardware store for aerodynamic household stuff.
Love watching the progress on this and looking forward to further transformations as they happen. Do you know the history of the car?
One day maybe you will find some Cayman cup aero kit on sale, so that car can finally become beautiful again...
Sure looks a butt load better than she used too 👍 Thought you may have used a toffee wheel to remove the adhesive to help save the paint better than what the scotchlock did?
That would have been much better but I used what I had at hand ;)
yes i have been waiting sooo long for this lol
at least you have plenty of door stops for around the house
996 GT3 wheels will fit no problem without needing flares. The 18x10+65 just need a 20mm spacer 👍
I have the spacers so hopefully it all fits nicely.
@@HomeBuiltByJeff follow me back and check out our 986 Boxster S track build

Did some Dad buy it for his 12 year old to play with? Looking forward to the finished project.
You lucked out there Jeff, thank the stars that the accoutrements were not stuck on with “Sikaflex” as you alluded to, if they were, your job would have been a lot harder 🤦♂️
You should 3d print a Roxster badge for the car
Going to steel that idea for a front and rear defuser 😂
Speaking of weight saving, how about that mini spare in the frunk?
I haven't spoken of weight saving yet ;)
Are you sure the red vents on the sides, are not also ad ons like in the car?? 😉
110% better!
Don’t crucify me but I think the red painted intake looks cool
Oh do you have the computer raising the rear wing automatically at speed like the stock car would? I forget if the original wing was deactivated by the original owner, but either way I think that was a function of the computer in the car and you've changed that for the audi one.
I am not sure if it is still connected or not.
I may end up doing something like that if I can't find a cheap alternative.
Thankyou
So much better 👍😁
The more i see of this car, the more i think the previous owner was a 12 year old - Wow! 😂
One more thing you missed is the badge on the back not as ugly as the rest of the stuff you removed but sticks out like a sore thumb
Are you going to run a hard top for the track 👍
I really want to meet the guy who made these mods.
Have everyone guess and submit how many times you will say "AHHH" in your next video... Lol
Vinyl wrap it in a cool colour/livery
Is the body kit for sale ? You never know
