Another great tip is use a heatgun to warm the adhesive first before the application this can be very beneficial as the adhesive will be much more sticky. Also small jet/windproof lighters also work but be careful not to burn the adhesive or the car.

Three things all you need to know.
    1. Don't have a visible led.
    2. Don't show red blue or green.
    3. Solid light only
    Bring neons back ladies... 😉

  • @Ke3per88

-Underglow is perfectly legal for ON ROAD use in the UK if the leds are HIDDEN under the car.
-vehicle lighting regulations do not apply as the lights are not visible, underglow on the ground is unregulated.
-police may try to do you for distracting other drivers, but a stickered up fluorescent yellow rally wrap is legal so...

  • @bencrosbie

I reckon you cant display red in front or white in the back or blue all round as it could be mistaken as a front or rear of the car or emergency vehicle etc. but it sounds right that it can be used at just the car meet or car park etc. man I love underglow neons its great to see them back in action.

The original underglow were neon bars, literal bars like halogen bars. They are impossible to find now a days. The Fast and furious 1 & 2 show them from time to time. No LEDs there

A better and safer way to run the wires is to remove the wheel and wheel arch liner. Run the wire over the top of the liner and then they won't fall foul of moving parts

As a general rule, Underglow lights are considered legal for installation. It's important to note that these lights should not flash or display the colours red or blue on public roads. These guidelines are in place to prevent any confusion with emergency vehicles, which typically use red and blue lights.
That would mean that it is legal to drive with them on the road but not using blue or red colour right?

According to my previous research with cops regarding neons on the road:
No Blue or Green at all.
    No Red on front.
    No white on rear.
    Front has to be white.
    Rear has to be Red.
No strobe, pulse, ripple or flashing.
The leds or bulbs themselves must not be visible.
Any other combination has to be off road only.
    ...supposedly.

A copper will likely not directly say neons are legal. As far as my interpretation goes of the law, you can have them on as long as you can set them to show only white at the front and red at the back whilst on the road. Some kits used to have this function but i dont know if any do now. its easier for them to blanket say no theyre not legal. Never ask a copper if something is legal as theyre likely just say no if they dont like them lol anyone with an FAC will know this

You can drive with them on, you just can’t use red blue or green when driving. Also they can not flash they need to be solid colours. And there’s a limit to the amount of light it can give so would probably be best set to half brightness while driving! When at a meet use max and any colour you want including green blue and red, you can even have them flashing just not while you drive.

Firstly, this is not neon. Secondly I can’t believe how expensive this kit is, it looks like it’s Just WS2812 LED strip in a waterproof sleeve, which can be purchased far cheaper. If you wanted to make it really neat you would use something like an ESP32 as the controller with an app called WLED, this would allow you to have all the flash colour sequences you currently have, but also split the front and rear of the car so you are only showing Red - ish sequencing colours at the back and shades of White sequencing at the front.

Basically the cop said a whole lot of nothing. The only thing he said you can't do is have the lighting visible. Everything else he said makes the whole point of underglow pointless. Also I think the law or not being able to use three specific colours underneath is pathetic. How would anyone possibly think you're an emergency vehicle with red, blue or green underglow. One you can't even see the underglow at certain distances and two no emergency vehicles use underglow anyway. I think a more reasonable rule should be the intensity of the lighting this way if you're further away he isn't as visible or not visible at all and when it is you're close enough to be obvious that you're not an emergency vehicle.
Also, I find the rule that LEDs cannot be visible is a stupid rule. A better rule would be allowing them but having them only allowed to be of a certain brightness and they cannot flash. The majority of users would follow the law/rules anyway. It's a select few who don't. Those few don't give a fuck about the laws/rules anyway. Tints for example should only be up until a certain point before they're not legal. However most cars have tints that are legal whether they're stock or not. Very few people have tints that aren't legal.
This is one of those things where I actually think that some US states have it right. The UK is so fucking anal about not allowing people to have customisation, it reminds me of school where you wasn't allowed to have specific things done to your hair as it was "distracting", absolutely pathetic.
Also remembered and was supposed to say earlier. I also don't buy this LED shit because as far as I can find, you're legally allowed to put LED bulbs into your headlights. I've seen people with headlights that are so fucking bright I can't see the road in front of me. Some of them are so unbelievably bright that head-on you're blinded especially when you're suburban.

@LuciferGaming840 do it to ignition or use a probe and find a empty fuse slot that gets power when car is on and turns off when car is off
