I'd definitely suggest using narrow gauge track for the mine railway, as it was typically used in real life. Also Mr Beardstone used it in his last Create series and it worked well alongside being smaller and so easier to fit into underground spaces

You can generate drip stone by having drip stone blocks with water sources on top and a pointed dripstone underneath. If you have 10 blocks of space between the dripstone blocks and the bottom floor you can grow them from the roof and the floor. This is the fastest way to grow them but they will grow even with just water on any block above the pointed. TLDR: place vertically from the top, water, dripstone block, pointed dripstone, 9 spaces of air, any block of your choosing and you can grow more pointed dripstone as efficiently as possible.
the rollers work better for clearing out track pathways. they don't just work on the ground; you can stack them on top of each other too and they clear more effectively than drills. you wouldn't have all those blocks in the middle of the track.
BTW, you can harvest those dripstone stalagnites. If you have one dripstone stalagnite driping water on the dripstone they will slowly grow from them. Just quality of life fun fact.
i vote for the name of the mine train to be the MinerCoaster, and the canary, i would personally name banana but i only think it makes sense for you to name it Cherry or Blossom for where you found it. another option is indiana scones for absolutely no reason lmao. They're not good names though, but they're very descriptive. 😅

You SHOULD be able to grind dripstone blocks back into pointed dripstone. But Create hasn't set that up nor has an addon set that up. I think a safe recipe would be 1 block to 1 pointed dripstone with a 12% for 1-3 more.
