Nobody complained more about Cancel Culture than Bill Burr several years ago. He was genuinely afraid of it and called it out more than anyone.
Because it was happening to his buddies and coworkers so he had to, it woulda looked bad if he didn't in his circle. Last 8 years or so he only cares to call stuff out that personally effect him or that he can comment on without fear of blowback. His downward trajectory pretty much lines up with his marriage. Everyone is seeing that his outlooked and comedy got castrated.

That’s the point though. It was a problem several years ago but is not such a big deal anymore. Several comics have had great success talking about cancel culture w/o facing any consequences aside from some brats on twitter. It’s not some existential threat to anyone’s livelihood. That was such a bait and switch. I have come to not really get excited over movies anymore because they suck more than they don't. But when I saw the trailer for this I was so excited. Was such a let down.
